Distressing Casualty.

--John Ellis, a resident of Chaptico district, St. Mary's county, Md., accidentally shot and killed his wife on Saturday last. They had been playfully snapping at each other a pistol which was supposed to be unloaded, when finally the weapon was discharged while in the husband's hand, and the ball entering the breast of Mrs. Ellis caused her almost instantaneous death.
