--An English writ of habeas corpus in the case of the fugitive Anderson, arrived at Toronto Friday. The Chief Justice of the Common Pleas here has also issued a writ of habeas corpus. As the prisoner is in the Brantford jail, the result remains to be seen. Both the bench and the bar are unanimous in the opinion that the Chief Justice of England acts unwarrantably in sending a writ to be executed within the jurisdiction of the Chief Justice of Canada.
