A Poodle Skirt for Everyday with Cuddle Fabrics

Who doesn't love the classic look of a good poodle skirt?  I figured it was time I made my daughters some.  Poodle skirts can make for a fast Halloween costume, but I wanted ours to be washable and wearable for regular use, not just for dress-up.  Washing is easy with the Cuddle Suede in Fuschia and other cuddle fabrics provided by Shannon Fabrics and to Fairfield for providing me with the Soften Interfacing and compensating me for this post.  Decorative Trimmings provided me with the trims.  All thoughts, ideas, and opinions are my own.

And besides, Halloween, they're also great for 50's dress-up days, and just plain anytime you want your girls (or yourself) to look adorable.

The Wand Skirt with Cuddle Suede - Harry Potter Inspired

Our family has been die-hard Harry Potter fans for years, with my 10-year-old daughter being the most enthusiastic.  I made her a Hermione Skirt a couple years ago...

....but since she's growing taller by leaps and bounds it was time for a new one.

The Cuddle Suede in Charcoal was the perfect color to be reminiscent of a Hogwarts Uniform and I used Cuddle Suede in Black for the appliqued wand.  The the  1/8" Gold Braid from Decorative Trimmings is really adds the perfect magical finishing touch.  Cuddle Suede comes 60" wide, which makes it ideal for circle skirts for older kids.
