R2-K9 Star Wars Themed DIY Dog Bed

The Star Wars dog-parent in your life is definitely going to want one of these.  Although a dog bed like this can be made for any theme.  Thanks to Shannon Fabrics, Dritz, and Fairfield World for providing me with product for this dog bed and to Fairfield World for compensating me for this post.  All opinions, ideas, enthusiasm and complete geekiness is 100% my own. This post contains affiliate links.

R2-K9 get it?!?  Although K-9SO could make a great dog bed too.  A friend of mine recently became pet-parent to a rescue dog and he wanted a comfy place for his dog to sleep.  Since he is such a Star Wars fan, I thought a punny Star Wars dog joke was in order.  (Free Pattern for Star Wars Quilt-in-a-Day in photos can be found here.)

And because he wanted an extra cover for when the first was in the wash, I made a second with some
Luxe Cuddle® Weave in Silver Heather to match the dog's beautiful coat to minimize visible pet hair.

Cosplay Quality Harry Potter Wizard Robe with Cuddle Suede

This Harry Potter Cosplay Robe will be much more than just a Halloween Costume.  The luxurious Cuddle Suede fabrics make it feel "real" instead of just for dress up.  (Disclaimer:  Shannon Fabrics sent me this amazing fabric for free, but all opinions, idea, and enthusiasm are entirely my own.

In this case, I made a robe for my little Ravenclaw.  It features Cuddle® Suede Black for the outer robe and lined the hood and sleeves with Cuddle® Suede Navy for the perfect Ravenclaw look.

Warm enough to keep the chill out on Halloween and with an authentic drape that makes it great for wearing to your local ComicCon.

You can check out my details for where to get the pattern and how we modified it to make the Cosplay Harry Potter Robe on Sewciety, the Shannon Fabrics blog.

All White Cuddle Quilt - Baptism Quilt - Wedding Quilt - Baby Blessing

As a quilter one of my favorite ways to commemorate a milestone event is with a quilt.  So when our daughter turned 8 years old and chose to be baptized a member of the LDS Church  a couple months ago, I made her this All White Cuddle Quilt to help her remember the special day.  (Note: Fairfield World and Shannon Fabrics sent me supplies and compensated me to make this quilt and write about it on the Fairfield website here.  This personal blog post is entirely my own.)

In the LDS Church we believe that the Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit) is a member of the Godhead and helps lead, guide, and prompt our decisions.  He also acts as a Comforter in times of grief, pain, and/or anxiety.  Since this special girl suffers from severe social anxiety (selective mutism), I thought this physical reminder of comfort would help her remember that the Holy Ghost can also help comfort her soul.

Stair Step Quilt - Cuddle Quilt-in-a-Day - Men's Quilt - Teen Quilt

It's about time I shared a men's quilt.  This is the perfect fast quilt to whip up in time for a Father's Day quilt or as a graduation quilt for the favorite teen boy in your life.  Big thanks to Fairfield World for providing me with product and compensating me for this post as well as to Shannon Fabrics for providing me with the fabric.  This pattern was designed using EQ7.  All opinions, ideas, an enthusiasm are 100% my own.  This post may contain affiliate links to help support my blog and bring you more fun projects.

Of course this pattern can work just as well for girls and women if you choose fabrics to their interest and taste.

Dad's appreciate soft snuggly blankets as much as the rest of us even if they're a bit too manly to let us know.  My husband's favorite use for blankets is to keep warm on chilly nights out star-gazing.  (He has as many telescopes as I have sewing machines...and this one is his smallest by far.)  He's even been known to fall asleep in the yard on occasion while watching the stars. (You'll have to forgive us for the daytime shot...night-time pics just can't show off the quilt well.)  Even summer nights can get chilly.

And the Vintage Automobile Cuddle from Shannon Fabrics is the perfect print to include fort he car enthusiast.

DIY Pee-Proof Fitted Sheet

You can make your own Pee-Proof Fitted Sheet for your Toddler Bed with this easy tutorial.

We're done with potty training around here except for the occasional night-time accident, so I thought we'd celebrate with making our little guys a super soft sheet that will also protect his mattress.  I've teamed up with Fairfield World and Shannon Fabrics to bring you this project.  This post contains affiliate links.

Reversible Cuddle® Chair Cover

This is an easy reversible chair cover for a favorite chair that just needs a facelift and only takes and hour or two of your time.  I used Cuddle® Fabric to make it extra soft and comfortable.

Thank you Fairfield World for their continued support of my creativity by providing me with products to try and compensating me for my work sharing it with you.  Thank you also to Shannon Fabrics for providing me with the Cuddle® fabric.  The support of these companies made this donation to my daughter's classroom possible.  All opinions, ideas, and enthusiasm is entirely my own.  This post contains affiliate links.

We've all got that chair that we LOVE and is SO comfortable, but is ugly as all get out, right?  Different covers work for different kinds of chairs, but this is an easy cover that can work for most kinds of chairs.  It will work best for chairs with open arms, so that you can tie the cover in place at the back of the seat.

Rebecca's teacher loves owls and her favorite colors are blue and green, so these seemed like the perfect fabrics.

Before the instructions....just a little backstory...

DIY Doll and Me Suitcase Travel Bag for American Girl style Dolls - Doll Luggage

If you know a little girl who loves her American Girl or similar 18-inch doll, you're going to love this simple suitcase conversion.  With no sewing involved, you'll have comfy soft suitcase to fit the travel needs of both your favorite girl and her doll(s).  This easy tutorial has been done in partnership with Fairfield World who provided materials and compensated me for this post as well as Shannon Fabrics and Dritz who provided materials.   All thoughts, ideas, and opinions are 100% my own.  This post also contains affiliate links.

The American Girl doll craze started at our house a little over a year ago when my younger daughter saved up enough money to buy her own American Girl doll with money she saved up.  (She chose Grace because Grace looked the most like her of all the dolls that came with stories.  We also have several of the similar and much less expensive Our Generation dolls.)  Since then Becca's been in love with all things baking and Paris.  It's been fun for me help her make her own accessories and clothes.  (Something about miniature crafting is a bit addicting.)

Ever since seeing this fun vintage suitcase to dog bed conversion from Morena's Corner,  I've been trying to find just the right suitcase to do the same thing for a doll.  (Since Becca's favorite doll playmates are her cousins who live three hours away, I wanted some way easily keep all her stuff together when we go on trips to see family.)

Easy Seat Belt Comfort Sleeve

If you're short like I am, you can probably relate to seat belts being slightly uncomfortable.  Even with the seat belt on the lowest setting, it still brushes my neck quite a bit which has irritated me for YEARS.  I finally came up with a quick and easy solution...a little padded sleeve with support foam stabilizer inside and super soft cuddle fabric from Shannon Fabrics on the outside.

Each one takes 10-15 minutes to make.  Once I made one for myself, the whole family wanted them.  (And then my sister's whole family wanted them.  These are her cute kids.)

You can go to the Fairfield Website here to see how to make your own Easy Seat belt Sleeves.

And you can go here for my tutorial for making the nifty Back Seat Saver Upholstery Cover the kiddos car seats are on.

Easy Cuddle Strips Valentine Quilt

When I was making the Cuddle Heart Pillows, I couldn't stop at just pillows, so I made a super simple coordinating Cuddle Strip Quilt.

Cuddle fabric is the perfect fabric for making a large adult-sized throw since it comes 60" wide, and a layer of American Spirit™ Luxury Blend Batting from Fairfield sandwiched inside makes it extra thick and luxurious.  Disclaimer:  Fairfield provided me with the batting and compensated me for writing this post.  Shannon Fabrics provided the cuddle fabrics.  However, all opinions are 100% my own.  I love working for both companies because they offer high quality products that bring out the best in my work.

The front of the quilt uses Rose Cuddle® RedZiggy Soft Cuddle™ BlackMarble Rose Cuddle® in Black/Silver, Lattice Soft Cuddle™ in Snow, and Fancy Puma Soft Cuddle™ Silver/Black with Black Cuddle 3 binding.  For backing we used Soft Cuddle™ in Scarlet, all from Shannon Fabrics.

You can find the full tutorial for this Easy Cuddle Strips Valentine Quilt on the Fairfield site here.

"Give Thanks" - Thanksgiving Cuddle Pillows

I'm so excited to share these "Give Thanks" Thanksgiving Pillows today.  I know for me Thanksgiving is often the holiday that I don't sew for.  Once Halloween comes, I throw myself fully into gear getting gifts ready for Christmas, so this year I wanted to do at least one project to add to my Thanksgiving decor.

Thanks to Fairfield World for providing me with the Pillow Inserts and fusible fleece and compensating me for writing this post.  All ideas and opinions are 100% my own.  Also thank you to Shannon Fabrics for providing the cuddle for previous projects and leaving me with enough fabric scraps to make these.

These could easily be done with regular quilting fabric, but my kids have been begging for more cuddle pillows.  I love the pop and extra dimension that the Rose Cuddle gives the words.

And the best part is that you could easily make them in an afternoon.

Skill Level: Intermediate if you're using Cuddle Fabric.  Beginner with some experience if you're using regular fabric.

Time: Make it in an afternoon.
