Super Easy Doll Puff Quilt

I've had lots of Shannon Cuddle Scraps around for quite a while that have just been begging to be made into something fun, so I decided to put together some fun doll quilts.  And at the last  minute I decided to add some polyfil too make them extra puffy.  I'm SO glad I did.  It just makes them so luscious and soft and fun to play dolls with.  Thanks to Fairfield World for providing materials and compensating me for this post.  Thanks also to Shannon Fabrics for providing me with materials.  All opinions and ideas are 100% mine. Most puff quilts require making lots of tedious separate puff pockets and then sewing them all together, but NOT THIS ONE!!  You will LOVE how simple this is.  You sew the whole thing the way you normally would and then we'll add some extra stuffing when we get to the quilting step.

They're the perfect size to work well with my new Doll Tent Tutorial on the Shannon Fabrics website.

And great for summer time doll picnics.

I love the look so much, I think I'm going to need to make some puff pillows for the real people in our house next.

DIY Doll and Me Suitcase Travel Bag for American Girl style Dolls - Doll Luggage

If you know a little girl who loves her American Girl or similar 18-inch doll, you're going to love this simple suitcase conversion.  With no sewing involved, you'll have comfy soft suitcase to fit the travel needs of both your favorite girl and her doll(s).  This easy tutorial has been done in partnership with Fairfield World who provided materials and compensated me for this post as well as Shannon Fabrics and Dritz who provided materials.   All thoughts, ideas, and opinions are 100% my own.  This post also contains affiliate links.

The American Girl doll craze started at our house a little over a year ago when my younger daughter saved up enough money to buy her own American Girl doll with money she saved up.  (She chose Grace because Grace looked the most like her of all the dolls that came with stories.  We also have several of the similar and much less expensive Our Generation dolls.)  Since then Becca's been in love with all things baking and Paris.  It's been fun for me help her make her own accessories and clothes.  (Something about miniature crafting is a bit addicting.)

Ever since seeing this fun vintage suitcase to dog bed conversion from Morena's Corner,  I've been trying to find just the right suitcase to do the same thing for a doll.  (Since Becca's favorite doll playmates are her cousins who live three hours away, I wanted some way easily keep all her stuff together when we go on trips to see family.)

DIY Harry Potter Doll Robe - Hermione American Girl Style Doll Tutorial

Are your kids into American Girl dolls?  My girls wish they were.  Right now they've only been blessed with the much cheaper version from Target. Both girls have a jar they're using to save money to buy a doll...I'll let you guess whether the 9-year-old or the 4-year-old has more in her job.

And up until a week or two ago, they only two outfits for the doll, and she didn't have a name.

Well, now she does have a name.  Meet Hermione!

(Our Hermione even has the characteristic bushy hair of the Hermione in the early books.)

As I was getting ready for Katie's birthday, I had the thought that I could probably make a doll robe, the same way I made Anson and Becca's Hogwarts robes for Halloween ...with a T-shirt!

And it worked great...and we couldn't stop there.  She needed a whole Hogwarts school uniform.

Oh...and of course a wand of her own.

In fact it's been so fun making these, that I've decided to carry sets in my shop if you'd rather buy one than make your own, you can purchase both basic sets (robe and scarf) and deluxe sets (robe, scarf, shirt, skirt, and wand) here.

But since I know many of you are DIYers, I'll go ahead and share my secrets.

Here's what you'll need...
