The instructions say you need to boil the syrup for 15 minutes but I boiled it for at least 30. I did not use a candy thermometer like they say to use but the only thing you need to know is that the candy is supposed to be hard as rock when cooled. So, I kept taking samples with a butter knife and testing it on a plate until it was perfect. You have to watch as it is super hot. My 13 year old loved to help me make those, but small kids could not for safety reason. It was easy and a success!!! I loved the taste of the candy too. I recommend it!
