Le chateau des fleurs new Home Tour

It finally arrived, we are home owners. I really think it would take me years to find my perfect home but it was very fast. This house was the 2nd house I saw and I totally fell in love. It was just perfect. The materials, colors, floor plan. Super charming with a French touch.
This house has a very good feeling, it felt right which is very important to me. It's very modest but High ceilings and the light walls makes the house look and feel bigger. If I would have had build a house it could have looked that way. It was meant for me.

The front room with dark hand scrapped hardwood floors. All the walls are a soft grey color although in some pictures you can't tell. The carpets are a soft grey too. All the trims are white.

The kitchen with lots of cabinets, Aqua blue pantry door, stainless steel appliances. White subway tiles for back splash. High breakfast bar.

Frigidaire appliances and Aqua blue door.

Gas stove

Laundry room

Living room. This fire place is very French inspired. I love the high ceilings and all the windows on the side. This house is extremely bright. There is a very yummy light and lots of windows.

I love those stairs. Perfect for hanging pictures. It's just beautiful.

And last but not least. My craft room! Yes! I get a craft room. Happy dance!!
Hope you enjoyed the tour. I seriously have no furniture for this house so it will be a lot of thrifting and finding treasures. What do you think? What should I do?

Le Chateau des fleurs, kitchen tour

This is the kitchen, it is very big because the house is very big. My family is also in the kitchen all the time. It is one of my favorite room.

I have white trims and white paneling in the house so to continue the theme. The cabinets are off white with a brown glaze. The wall color is a warm brown who matches the back splash tile. The color is lighter but goes well with the tiles. It help make the kitchen flow and look more spacious. The ceilings are Aqua blue.

The double stove is a professional range. In France we cook everything from scratch. This is how i learned to cook.
The tile on the back splash is called "subway tile" We have this in the Parisian subway, on the walls and ceilings. The tile is a crackle porcelain tile. I only use Porcelain if it is very special and pretty.
You can see, i don't have a lot of accessories on the counters. I have 2 year old who climb on the counters and dances...HAHAHA...She brakes everything too. All decoration is high, out of reach.
You can see a little bit of the breakfast nook on the right.
I will post about it later.

I was looking everywhere for a "toile" back splash and could not find one. So i made it!!!
I will give you a tutorial  tomorrow .

You cans see a disposal on the left. The kids would play with the buttons and broke it the first week. So we don't use it. :)
The Sub Zero fridge.
It is huge. So love it.

I love this clock. It says "Bistro du Dauphin" A very famous Dauphin was Marie-Antoinette's son because of his tragic death. The name Dauphin was used for the eldest son of the king of France from 1349 to 1830.

A warming drawer..very useful.

3 small chandeliers hanging above the biggest island. They are form Lowes or home depot on line. I ordered and find all the Chandeliers. I am so picky about them and was not going to spend a fortune. Love them. Got the shade at Lowes.
You can tell the ceilings are Aqua blue in the kitchen.

I never had a microwave before living in the States. It is a luxury in France.

There is 2 sinks. One by the fridge and one on the other end of kitchen.
I can see the back of the house from the kitchen. The family room is next to the kitchen and open to it. We are always in these 2 rooms.

The floor is cobblestone, in an Antique pattern. All Tile stores have  tile layout handouts.  Natural stones add value to your home.
The counter tops are black granite. It is important that the floor and counter tops go together. The floor has gray...goes well with black. This is a key for a well put together kitchen.

Hope you enjoyed this tour...Glad to share my little secrets with you... For the Back splash tutorial click here.
