[The "Viking" ["Viking III"] was built in 1965 by Orenstein-Koppel und Lübecker Mach A/G, Lübeck, for Otto Thoresen for service between Southampton to Cherbourg/Le Havre. During the winter of 1965, she was chartered to Atlantic Steam Navigation for services from Tilbury to Rotterdam and Antwerp. In 1968, Thoresen merged with Townsend to form Townsend Thoresen Car Ferries. She worked regular charters for other companies such as Lion Ferry, Fred Olsen, Larvik Lines, Sealink and Stena Line etc. In 1982 "Viking III" was sold to Da-No Linjen for service between Frederikstad-Frederikshavn as the Terje Vigen. She passed through various other Scandinavian owners as Scandinavia until spending 1990/91 with Vasabåtarna and Jakob Lines as Fenno Star. In 1992, Fenno Star was sold to Scandi Lines as the Sandefjord, running between Sandefjord-Strömstad. Scandi Line became part of Larvik Line in 1994, and then Color Line in 1999. In 2003 she was sold to Saga Linie and adopted the name "Sagafjord" for a service Moss-Skagen.]

[The "Norwegian Jade" is a cruise ship for Norwegian Cruise Line, originally built as the "Pride of Hawaii" for their NCL America division. She was christened in a ceremony at the San Pedro Pier in Los Angeles, California on May 22, 2006. This Panamax form-factor ship was built at Meyer Werft Shipyard, in Papenburg, Germany. Operators: NCL America (2006-2008) and Norwegian Cruise Lines, based in Nassau, Bahamas, from 2008.]

[The "Black Watch" was built by Wärtsilä Helsinki New Shipyard (Finland) or Royal Viking Line, launched on May 12 1971 and entered service on June 26 1972 and named "Royal Viking Star". In 1981 the "Royal Viking Star" was lengthened by 27.77 meters at Seebeckwerft, Bremerhaven, Germany. In April 1991 was transferred to the Norwegian Cruise Line and renamed "Westward". In April 1994, the ship was transferred to the fleet of NCL's subsidiary Royal Cruise Line, renamed "Star Odyssey" and used for cruising around the Mediterranean. In October 1996 the ship was sold to Fred Olsen and renamed "Black Watch". In February 1997 the ship suffered engine problems while outside Marmaris, Greece, and had to be docked for two weeks at Valletta, Malta for repairs. From April 2005 onwards, the ship was docked for two months at Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, Germany. During this time her engines were upgraded and interiors refurbished. In July 2007, the ship was the subject of a Legionnaires Disease outbreak which affected a number of passengers in their seventies and eighties.]

[The "Saga Ruby" was built as the combined ocean liner/cruise ship MS "Vistafjord" in 1973 by Swan Hunter Shipbuilders in the United Kingdom for the Norwegian America Line. In 1983 she was sold to Cunard Line, retaining her original name until 1999 when she was renamed MS "Caronia". In 2004 she was sold to Saga Cruises.]

[The "Saga Rose" was built in 1965 by Société Nouvelle des Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée (France) for Norwegian America Line, with the name "Sagafjord". Between 1983 and 1996 the "Sagafjord" was operated by Cunard Line. In 1996-1997 she was shortly operated by Transocean Tours as MS "Gripsholm" prior to being sold to her current owners. She was retired from service in October 2009 and, as of June 2010, has arrived in China for scrapping.]
