The M.S. Beaverbrae ( 9,034 tons) was built as Huascaran by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg (Germany), in 1939, for the Hamburg-America Line. She made his maiden voyage from Hamburg and the West coast of South America. On return taken over by German Navy for conversion to a submarine depot ship. Spent most of WW2 in Norway where she was captured undamaged by the Allies in 1945. Allocated to Canada as war reparation; refit at Liverpool 1947. Purchased by Canadian Pacific and renamed Beaverbrae, she made her first sailing for them 8 February 1948 from St.John NB with cargo to London. She then sailed to Bremen to pick up passengers for Canada. Eventually she made 51 sailings from Bremen carrying 38,000 displaced persons to Canada as refugees whilst carrying cargo eastbound. Her last emigrant voyage to Canada departed on 28 July 1954. Sold to Compagnia Genovese d'Armamento, Genoa 1 November 1954, she was rebuilt at Monfalcone to 10,022 GRT with accommodation for 1,124 tourist class passengers. Renamed Aurelia, she sailed from Trieste on13 May 1955, via Suez to Australia and made later voyages from Genoa. Re-engined in 1958-59 and rebuilt to 10,480 tons, and she started Bremen-Suez-Australia service on 12 June 1959. In 1962 she began a round of 34 voyages between English Channel ports and New York. In 1970 she was sold to Chandris Lines, renamed Romanza and refitted for cruising. Resold to Ambassador Leisure in 1991; renamed Romantica and cruised in the eastern Mediterranean. In 1997 she caught fire returning to Cyprus from Egypt and was abandoned without casualties. The burnt out hulk was towed to Limassol and scrapped the following year.

Viking Line Abp is a Finnish shipping company that operates a fleet of ferries and cruiseferries between Finland, the Åland Islands, Sweden and Estonia. The company was founded in the Åland Islands (province of Finland) by Gunnar Eklund in 1959.
The cruiseferry Rosella was built in 1980 in the Wärtsilä Turku Shipyard, Turku. From 1980 to 2023, it belonged to the Finnish company Viking Line. In 2023 it was acquired by the Greek company Aegean Sea Lines and renamed Anemos.

The Antonov An-24 (Антонов Ан-24) is a 44-seat twin turboprop transport/passenger aircraft designed in 1957 in the Soviet Union by the Antonov Design Bureau and manufactured by Kyiv, Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude Aviation Factories from 1959 to 1979. First flight: 29 October 1959.

The Lenin riverboat began construction at Gorky's Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard in 1952, under the name Stalin. Work was stopped between 1953 and 1955, after the death of Stalin, and resumed in 1958. Named Lenin, this elegant ship, powered by diesel and electric engines, was delivered in 1959 to the shipping company VORP (Volzhskoje Obedinjonnye Retchnoje Parochodstvo - Volga United River Shipping Company), and was assigned to the long regular line between Moscow and the Caspian Sea via the Moscow Canal, the Oka River, Nizhny-Novgorod and the Volga River to Astrakhan.

Cubana de Aviación S.A., commonly known as Cubana, is Cuba's flag carrier, as well as the country's largest airline. It was founded in October 1929, becoming one of the earliest airlines to emerge in Latin America. It has its corporate headquarters in Havana, and its main base is located at José Martí International Airport. Originally a subsidiary of Pan American World Airways and later a private company owned by Cuban investors, Cubana has been wholly owned by the Cuban government since May 1959.
AOM French Airlines (previously Air Outre-Mer) was the second-largest airline in France that operated from 1988 until 25 March 2001. Its head office was in Orly Airport.

The Manizales railway station building was built between 1926 and 1928 and was abandoned in 1959. After its rehabilitation and restoration, in 1984 it was declared a National Monument of Colombia.

The Karkonosze National Park is located in the Karkonosze Mountains in the Sudetes in southwestern Poland, along the border with the Czech Republic. It was created in 1959 to cover an area of 55.10 km2.

The Berlin was a passenger ship built in 1959 for the Dampfschiffahrts-Gesellschaft für den Nieder- und Mittelrhein (DGNM), which was used by the Cologne-Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt until 2003 in service on the Rhine. After the sale to the Dutch Princess Services B.V. in Dordrecht she was converted into an event ship and used under the name Tourmalijn until 2010 for special and event trips. Shortly after she was resold to RiverZZ Events BV and renamed River ZZ, she burned out completely on September 9, 2011 near the Erasmus Bridge on the Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam, so she had to be scrapped in early 2012.
