WEST HILL LIFT, Hastings, East Sussex, England.

The West Hill Lift is a 150 m (500 ft) long funicular railway that ascends from George Street to Hastings Country Park on West Hill, at a height of 52 m (170 ft) above sea level, providing access to Hastings Castle and St Clement's Caves. It has two carriages with capacity for 16 passengers each. Construction began in 1889 and it opened in 1891. The first operator went bankrupt in 1894 y the Hastings Passenger Lift Company took over and operated the line until 1947, when Hastings Borough Council bought the line. FERROCARRIL AUSTRAL FUEGUINO (FCAF), Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina

FERROCARRIL AUSTRAL FUEGUINO (FCAF)
(Tren del Fin del Mundo / Train of the End of the World)

Ushuaia.

The Train of the End of the World is a 500 mm gauge steam railway in Tierra del Fuego Province, Argentina. It was originally built as a freight line to serve the prison of Ushuaia, specifically to transport timber. It now operates as a heritage railway into the Tierra del Fuego National Park and is considered the southernmost functioning railway in the world. The line was open in 1909. In 1949 an earthquake blocked much of the line. Nevertheless, the government made efforts to clear the line and put the train back in service, but the service was not viable and closed in 1952. In 1994, the railway was rebuilt and began services again as touristic train.
