Favorite Peeps!

Another fun Easter card for one of my favorite peeps!
Wednesday, March 2, 2011
I'm really loving this paper!  I had my eye on the old hat like my Grandpa used to wear & I wanted to use it for a card.  I think it will be perfect for one of my brothers birthday this year!

Since I used a dark charcoal cardstock for the base of the card I needed to put something inside so that I can write my message.  I masked off the middle area with post it notes & used a large background stamp with words on it.  There was also a small hat on the packaging of the paper pack that I was able to punch out for an accent on the inside of the card.  I love how this whole card turned out - do you think my brother will appreciate it?
Here's to you Grandpa!

Anniversary Cards!

It all started with this Geometric Circles Embossing Folder that I picked up the other day at Hobby Lobby.  It reminded me of the quilt pattern called Double Wedding Ring.  I thought it would be nice to make anniversary cards.

I love this color combination of Simply Chartruese & Smoky Shadow cardstock.

I love using my cardstock from Papertrey Ink & making several color combinations.  I also have ribbon to match the PTI cardstock so it is a quick & easy project!
I am planning to use this stamp set on my parent's 50th wedding anniversary invitations (which I haven't started on yet!) The Happy Anniversary circle was perfect for my anniversary cards.  This set is from Impression Obsession called Anniversary.

Turtles in Love

I bought this stamp when I took a class last Fall at Taylor VanBruggen's house.  Yes, I was actually at her house for a card class!  I thought the Turtles in Love were cute & I made up a few anniversary cards using them.
Pretty simple card to start with - I put Glossy Accents on the red heart to give it a little shine & dimension.  The Happy Anniversary words are by Hero Arts.
I added an embossed layer using the QuicKutz Tiny Mosiac folder.
And on this card, I went all out!  I started by masking off & chalking the white paper.  On the top part I used a light sky blue chalk & the bottom third of the white paper I used a light brown chalk for the ground.  I stamped the turtles in black & embossed  & colored with Markers.  Lots of paper layering!

Enjoy The Ride!

Isn't this a cute card made by Doreen?  She used Enjoy The Ride by Papertrey Ink.  I love that she added the googly eyes to the head lights.  She said this was a card for her nephew's birthday.  Very cute Doreen!!!

Happy Birthday Cards!

Dona made these cards using a Quickutz Happy Birthday die cut.  She used Papertrey Ink cardstock for the base of all the cards in various colors.  She used Cuttlebug embossing folders on 3/4 of the card & completed the card with great ribbons!  These are great cards to have in your stash for a quick birthday greeting!!

Enjoy The Ride!

I used the Hero Arts Bicycle stamp on this card.  I stamped it with black ink on ivory cardstock.  The Embossing Folder is Polka Dots by Quickutz.   I think I'll stamp Enjoy The Ride for the inside sentiment!

More Halloween!

I used the Polka Dot Basics II Background set by Papertrey Ink on the Kraft cardstock.  Both of the fence punches are by Martha Stewart.  One is called Scary Fence Edge & the other is Iron Fence Edge.  The orange satin ribbon is from Michael's.

I used the smallest of the three nesting label dies for the words. (See below)

The stamped words are from Spooky Sweets II by Papertrey Ink.

Pumpkin

I love Fall & all the colors of Fall!  I found this little die cut in my pieces & parts plastic container & decided it should be on a card!  The card is yet another of the monogram cards that I have in my stash.

Fern Leaf...

This is a new stamp that Hero Arts just came out with for Spring.  It is interesting because I have an old old set of Hero Arts leaves that I found in my stash that is similair to this stamp.  I was inspired to use it even though it is slightly different.

The cardstock is by Bazzill, not sure the color name but it is the orange peel texture.  I used Vintage Cream cardstock by Papertrey Ink.  I stamped the Hero Arts fern in two shades of green ink.  The label shape is QuicKutz Cookie Cutter Nesting Label 3-026 (the smallest one) & the other is Nestabilities Labels Trio.  I die cut & embossed both labels.  The Happy Birthday To You words are from Damask Designs by Papertrey Ink & the Thank You words are Hero Arts CL341.  Ribbon is Ripe Avocado satin by Papertrey Ink.

This is the old set I have by Hero Arts from years ago.  What is old is new again...

Mini Thanks A Million...

I used Scallop Notes in Baja Breeze by Stampin' UP for this card.  The cards already have the scalloped edge on them.  I used an old Magenta stamp for the scrolly gate.  The label is a QuicKutz die Square (KS-0946)  The Thanks A Million are rubons by Basic Grey.  Simple & Elegant!
