"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

SNOW DAY / USSIS #88 & SCIC #34...

Here are some pictures from Feb. 2010 that I've been wanting to scrap for some time! It rarely snows in the 'deep south' of Alabama, but that day we got a ton! Just as it started I took Alex out to play...

We have a new sketch up over at Unscripted for this week, and I paired it with the Stampin' Celebration's inspiration of snowflakes. I realize this might be a little more color than their looking for - lol!

The papers are from a Christmas kit given out for free by Northridge publishing. The tear is by Tiffany Tillman at Design House Digital (DHD). Those tears are actually on sale for a dollar today, but you need Photoshop to use them. The frames are from DHD's Audrey Neal, TTV Frames. The buttons are from Scrap Orchard, mle card's Create a Button. Stitching is from DHD, Robyn Meierotto's InStitches-Basic Neutrals. The snowflakes are from the kit Vintage Holiday Memories by Michelle Underwood at Two Peas in a Bucket. Whew! THAT's one reason a page takes me so long, I have to dig around for everything!!!

Have a super Saturday & if you have the time please check out these awesome challenges!

FRIENDSHIP JAR [CREEPY CRAWLY] / SCIC #25 & CPS #190...

I tried using this set, Friendship Jar Fall Fillers, from Papertrey Ink last week after I got it, but I didn't like how the card turned out.... so I've been eager to try it again!

I barely finished this card in time to enter it into the Stampin' Celebration Challenge, only to find the linky not working! I also used this week's CPS Sketch #190.

It's so hard to tell, but I used black glitter on the stars. You might be able to if you click on the top pic & enlarge it. The Friendship Jar stamp set has a matching jar die, as well as the Fall & Winter add-ons - SO FUN!

Have a great night!

BIRTHDAY CUPCAKES / SCIC #17 & TESC #126...

Here's a quick card I made last night - I just now have time t post it! Gotta love cupcakes!

This card is for the inspiration challenge over at Stampin' Celebration! I finally made the deadline - lol! I used Taylor's cute sketch, too!

This was a super easy card, mostly made from patterned paper and a Martha Stewart punch.

Bye for now!

[tiny] THANK YOU / SCIC #10 & TSSC #129...

Wow - it's late! I love cards that are black & white with a little bit of color! They seem just instantly elegant...

I really love the inspiration over at Stampin' Celebration this week, and when I saw Mary Jo's sketch (which I modified a wee bit!) I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

I used the sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Tea for Two Additions, as well as PTI patterned paper. The punch is from Stampin' Up!, Jewelry Tag Punch ~ it's SO darling!

Have a great night!

HIPPY FLOWER HELLO / SCIC #8 & PPC #3...

Okay, obviously I had a problem finding a name for this card - lol! I always try to name them something I'll remember in case I want to find them again at some point...

I played along with 2 new~ish challenges, Stampin' Celebration! and Paper Player's Challenge. YAY - 2 challenges that I REALLY wanted to play with!

This was a really fast card, Stampin' Up! paper, so groovy, and dies from Papertrey Ink. A little bling, faux stitching, embossing & I was done!

Happy Friday!

SO SWEET / FTL #91 & SCIC #3...

I bought a new border punch a couple/few weeks ago & hadn't made a flower out of it yet, so I figured I better go ahead & get it out of my system - lol!

I started this card on Tuesday night (around 11pm!) and just didn't get to finish it until last night... not that it was overly complicated, I just didn't get any stamping time... I loved the inspiration over at Stampin' Celebration! - I hate that I couldn't get it done to enter. Have you checked it out? They have so many wonderful "not just a card" samples each week! I also used this week's Fall-to-Layout for this card.

The pleated layer under the ribbon is vellum. I bought a pack of vellum about 10 years ago while I was taking a digital printmaking class, 250 sheets, and I think I have 15 sheets left! I love that stuff! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The paper is from Stampin' Up!'s Bella Bleu collection, so lovely. I used SU's 3 flower punch for the purple flower under the pearl brad. The background was embossed with a SU! texture plate - I took Kari's advice and added some extra cardboard to the sandwich before running it through the Big Shot to get a deeper impression, worked like a charm!

Bye for now...

DAISIES FOR MOM / SCIC #1 & FTL #88...

WHOA - where'd the time go... this will be short, since it's almost 1AM!

My good friend Krystal started a challenge blog ~ YIPPEE YAY! She's also picked an awesome design team... so please go play along with them at Stampin' Celebration! (I'm hoping to be the first entry - lol!) I paired her awesome challenge with the latest Fall-to Layout.

I made my own argyle for the card's base. I drew the white lines with a gel pen. And like the Stampin' Celebration DT, I was inspired to use the daisies die from Stampin' Up!, as well. The buttons are from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks for dropping in & I hope you get to play along with Stampin' Celebration this week!
