"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

LOVE IS THE THREAD / CQC #71 & JUGS #70...

Wow, how'd it get to be Tuesday already? We have a new challenge up over at the colourQ, lots o' pink! I decided to go C&S with this card... I love kraft!!!

This card features two sets, Heart Quilt and Sew&Sew, from the Wax Fruit Company. I printed the image onto kraft, and then printed it 3 times more on the 3 different patterned papers. Then I pieced the quilted heart... super quick!

I used the sketch from this week's JUGS Challenge... and also am putting this in the Crafty Cardmakers, Outlawz C&S Color & the Crazy Challenge!

Bye for now...

AIM FOR THE CLOUDS / CQC #31 & JUGS #31...

This post is a lot later than I'd hoped ~ occasionally Jeff or Mom uses the camera while I'm at work & then forgets to turn it off & then I try to take pics with a dead battery - that makes me madder than a hornet! Oh well...

I used #31 challenges today - colourQ's challenge #31 & Just Us Girls Sketch #31 - super cool! I swear I just L-O-V-E challenges!
This card uses a brand spankin new to me set from There She Goes, called Aim For The Clouds... I'm over the moon when I find a good set to paper-piece with and this is definitely one! I will admit to a little cheating, though - the mountains were stamped & cut out of Pacific Point, but it's so close to Brilliant Blue I thought that would be okay! You're probably also thinking I did an awesome job cutting out those little clouds, but I actually colored those in with my handy dandy white gel pen!

I hope you're having an awesome day & maybe you'll get a chance to play along with the colourQ this week - if you get a friend to play along you could both win a little prizy~prize!!

Bye for now!

PS - CLARE! You lucky gal - you won some goodies from me by sharing pics of your stamping area... could you email your snail mail address to me?

A SPECIAL EGG GIRL / JUGS #25, PTW #37, PIO #10 & etc...

Well, I really never thought I'd like digital images, but I cretainly have been gravitating to them lately!

This card fulfilled a TON of challenges, probably more than I've ever managed on a single card. I do have my own rules for that, though... only '1' sketch & color challenge per card! I played along witht he cool Papertake Weekly sketch and the wonderfully 'spring-y' colors from Just us Girls.

Here are all the challenges:
Just Us Girls - Color Challenge
Stamp Something - Distressed
The Shabby Tea Room - Spring Inspired w/ Stitching
Pile It On - Furry Friends
Our Creative Corner - Easter

This image is a digital stamp from Sassy Cheryl's isn't she CUTE!!! I love the vintage look! All the designer paper & ribbon is retired Stampin' Up! The button is Papertey Ink. I used Copics to color her, the edges of the image are distressed/ spinged with SU! inks Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery, the dry-embossed background is sponged with So Saffron. The card base is Soft Suede, But it looks darker since I distressed the edges. The tag is a die from SU!, as well.

Have a beautiful day!

SERENE SNOWFLAKES / JUGS#7, CCC #29 & 2S4Y Bonus...

Looks like I was in a glittery, blingy mood tonight, huh?!? Well, I just couldn't help it...

This card is for three challenges; the 2 Sketches Bonus, Color Create's beautiful combo, and Just Us Girls Technique Challenge. YAY!

Anyways, the other reason I got my bling out, was that the big glitter brad on the glitter snowflake was handmade! And very easy to do, I might add! Here's the tutorial: DIY~ Giant Glitter Brad. I used a couple of retired colors that I'd been hanging on to, Pacific Point & Cool Carribbean, as well as Tempting Turquoise. The stamps are from Stampin' Up!, called Serene Snowflakes.

Have a great night!

TISSUE FLOWER (a la MONA) / CTD #66, MTSC #45 & JUGS4...

When I saw Mona's cool tutorial, I knew I had to make a tissue flower!

I used the awesome colors from this week's Color Throwdown for this card, paired with a very elegant sketch by Mercy, and the cool 3-D flower challenge over at Just Us Girls. You can find Mona's tutorial at the Just Us Girls blog.

Using the Flower Layers Originals Die, I strayed from the tutorial a bit & cut about 10 layers of white tissue. I then inked the edges of the 3 sets of 'layers' with each of the 3 colors of ink. Once I crumpled it a bit & fastened it down with a clear rhinestone brad, I took a paint brush dipped in the inks and brushed it up with more ink. I thought that was a little faster than using the brayer. the dsp is Rich Razzleberry Patterns and the ribbon is the reverse side of the Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot grosgrain.

Bye for now...
