Follow the Yellow Brick Road with My Stitch Back in Twine

I'm sew excited with My Stitch Back in Twine New Release today including a special which is offered at the bottom of my blog today - no, it's not Alice in Wonderland but still another favorite of mine - The Wizard of Oz!!!!! "I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too!"; "Follow the yellow brick road"; "Don't make me get the Flying Monkeys" . . . 



RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • tutorial using Splitcoasters
  • black card stock for card 
  • yellow and lime green glitter card stock for background
  • Cuttlebug Snake Skin Embossing folder for yellow brick road
  • Flying Monkeys were colored using Prisma and Whisper Strokes Markers, gel pen and Stickles accents for wings 
  • Yellow Brick Road was colored using Whisper Strokes Markers and Stickles accents 
  • Wicked Witch legs and shoes were colored using Spectrum Nor and Whisper Strokes Markers with Stickles accents on her ruby red shoes 
  • sentiments used were from Create with TLC with the birthday sentiment made especially for me to use on this card - thank you Paulette


  • flowers were from Edwina with Queen & Co. black pearl centers for the poppies

I'll Get You My Pretty . . . . AND We're Off to See the Wizard!

I'll get you my pretty!!!!
Oh no, watch out for the flying monkeys!!!
Just click your heels twice and say "there's no place like home - there's no place like home"
I'm Melting!!!!!
We're off to see the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz


I had made this pop-up box card for a previous challenge with the 613 Avenue Create Design Team Project, but my health and my blog were not on speaking terms at the time. I absolutely love love love the Wizard of Oz and love how my pop-up box card had turned out and just had to share this card with you today . . . 










RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • background was green cardstock and cut per Splitcoaster's instructions which can be found here
  • yellow cardstock was embossed using Cuttlebug Reptile Embossing folder - doesn't it look like the "yellow brick road" with a bit of imagination??
  • green cardstock is from DCWV Stack
  • Melonheadz Illustrations Wizard of Oz characters were colored with Prisma Colored Pencils and Whispers Markers with gel pen and Stickles Accents
  • "The Rainbow of Life . . . " was from Create with TLC July Mega Club 
  • "believe and all of your wishes will come true" had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC which was chalked around the edges
  • Darice Wizard of Oz Stickers were used for final accents

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • pop-up box card was made utilizing the instructions on Splitcoasters
  • papers used are from DCWV Tres Chic Stack which was chalked around the edges 
  • images are mounted on circles cut using Darice 2.5 inch circle punch and chalked around the edges
  • charms are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies (Basic Skeleton Key, Curved Crown Charm,  Large Alice in Wonderland Charm, Small Pocket Watch Charm, Teapot Charms)
