Secret Sister Blog Hop

Merry Christmas and thank you for stopping by our hop today as we reveal the wonderful projects we have made for our "Secret Sisters". With blog hopping and crafting, we have all become sisters. What was done -- those of us were interested we given a "Secret Sister" to craft something special. Not only do we have a Secret Sister but we also gave some "hints" as to Our Favorite Things. How special is that. Now, ssshhhhhh, please don't tell our Secret Sisters as it hasn't been revealed yet as to who has who while you hop along with us!!!!

Now, my Secret Sister is the best --- I know everyone is saying that but I can say with the utmost conviction that I got the best Secret Sister of anyone. She has a heart of gold, compassionate, loving, caring, very very very crafty and an inspiration!!!! Oh yeah, I guess you're right, everyone is this group can be described that way!!!! <LOL>!!

For my Secret Sister since she's sew sweet I made a box card to start with. I first heard and saw this back on Amy Voltz's blog and have now made quite a few. I do, however, highly recommend that you have a score board to just make life easier and I'm say this from experience as I don't have one (Santa, did you get my hint????) To follow and make one of your own, please go here! These are great for gift cards, small gifts such as earrings, jewelry and what I made for my Secret Sister!!

Now, look how cute this is when you take off the belly band and see the treasure this holds .... The paper for my box card is Mrs. Claus' Kitchen.

Oops, do you see something peeking out --- well, I guess if you promise not to tell, I can show you what's inside . . . my friends and I used to have an ornament exchange as there was nothing that we particularly needed (ok, I still want the score board!). The rules were simple, we had to make the same ornament for everyone in our group AND it had to be homemade!!! I love ornaments and especially pulling these out year after year and having fond memories!

For my Secret Sister, I did just that and used the Gingerbread Seasonal Cricut Cartridge and cut these adorable, but not edible ornaments, at 3.75 inches from brown cardstock and the tasty glittery icing is Darice self-stick glitter paper. Now, just a warning in advance -- there is glittery everywhere - my pants, T-shirt, socks, hair, and floor; not necessarily in that order but it does look like icing and I'm pleased with the effect. Also, since I didn't want the backs to be lonely and plain, I used the balance of the cut that wasn't the icing outline on the back to reflect tree lights! A hole punch at a jaunty angle and some iridescent ribbon completes the ensemble!
