The Stamping Chef New Release Tuesday - Projects Galore Today!!!!!

It’s New Release Tuesday at The Stamping Chef with lots of goodies that she has cooked up for you to sample and taste. Today, I decided to use several of her recipes .  .  .

My first selection was an easel card using Through the Rabbit Hole

RECIPE:

• Card was cut 4.25 x 8.5 inches using Recollection Card Stack and then scored at 4.25 and 6.375 using my Martha Stewart Scoreboard
• another piece of carstock was cut at 4.25 x 4.25 inches which was a piece from a scrap exchange
• Through the Rabbit Hole was colored using my Spectrum Noir Markers with Gelly Pens for hi-lights and then puff-dotted on the 4.25 inch square
• charm is from Miriam's Crafting Supplies Alice in Wonderland "Where Should I Go"

My next recipes are pages in my journal which has become a work in progress. First page I would love to share with you is Sprinkling Spring.

• a Composition Book was purchased at The Dollar Store 
• a page in the book was covered (7.25 x 9.75 inches) with Recollections Fashionably Chic
• two pages are glued together for stability on all four sides 
• two more pages are glued just on the bottom and side to create a top pocket. 
• inside pocket is a 6-inch triangle folded in half to hold a journaling card using Recollections Fashionably Chic
• Sprinkling Spring was colored using Spectrum Noir and Prisma Markers along with hi-lights using gelly pens
• rhinestone water are Offray Darice Accessories
• silvertone with painted yellow sunflower charm is from Miriam's Crafting Supplies 
• doily is from E2 Essentials cut at 4-inches using Recollections Card Stock
• sentiment, "Life in FULL bloom", was a freebie from Create with TLC
• yellow flowers were purchased from Adele Garcia 
• Journal card is Studio 112 Ornate Tags which was from a dear friend, Kimberly 
• ribbon is from stash

Eat What "BUGS" You Kabob!

I survived my first entry in the Outlawz Challenge, thus here goes my second entry using one of the Anne Fenton’s with the cute little froggie making a bug shish kabob with CFC42113 

RECIPE:

• Card was made using Make the Cut starting with a rectangle and then inserting another rectangle inside to make the frame. I then added half circles to the corner and clicked the join feature to create the cut-out frame to measure 5 x 6 inches. I did a copy of my frame with a copy and paste which then used the blackout feature. The two pieces were joined together using the weld feature and viola I made a custom frame cut-out card!!!!! I'm sure there are easier ways to do this but . . . . 
• DCWV Nana's Kids was used for the card
• froggie was colored with Spectrum Noir Makers, Prisma Colored Pencils, and Gelly Pens 
  
  
  

• Cricut A Child's Year Cartridge, have I mentioned this is one of my favorite cartridges which I haven't used for awhile is the little boy fishing silhoutte which was cut 2.25 inches and then chalked around the edges to give some color using Recollections Card Stock

Butterfly Blog Hop

Thank you for fluttering by today and seeing all the butterflies we have in this hop. These crafters have preformed butterfly magic again with their creations and I hope you enjoy looking at the beauty of these creations.

Here is my little bit of butterfly magic for today...I'm not sure how many of you know but I flew through the air with the clumsiest of ease and broke my foot in 3 places and cracked my elbow. Mobility is not my strongest suit at this time. I was working on my project and ran out of ModPodge . . . . bear with me as this is a work in progress. Imagine if you will 3 or 4 coats of ModPodge and BLING to the 10th with this unique digi from Create with TLC with not to mention crystal butterflies ..... are you seeing my vision?????? I hope sew, if not, you may want to check back later to see if I was able to get my ModPodge . . . .

Now, since I hadn't quite finished my other project - I thought I would do a quick dimensional card using Treasure Box Designs Tiny Treasures Butterfly which are under a dollar!!!!

Recipe:

• paper piecing Tiny Treasures Butterfly from Treasure Box Designs
• welded shapes together to make a dimensional card
• scraps for the butterfly paper piecing
• white and black gelly pens for white dot and eyelashes on eyes
• Inkadinkado chalks defining shapes
• brads for the two dots on the antennae to hold my card together - memo to self when welding shapes together remember to mirror the other shape!!!!

For my project, I decided to go with "Little Indian", which has since been retired. I thought he was a cutie and with my warped sense of humor, I added the hand-written sentiment - "HOW old?"

Bitter Sweet

I’ve taken a walk on the wild side and its your lucky day as you get a sneak peek to The Stamping Chef’s newest creation freebie for Monday. Bitter Sweet reminds me of Alice in Wonderland with the March Hare's pocket watch and I ran with markers with that thought in place!!! Be sure to stop by TSC Recipes for complete instructions and offer where you receive this image on Monday for "FREE", yes, you read that right "FREE" and the balance of the week $1.50!!!!!

Recipe:

• Card was cut 4 x 4.25 inches
• Spider web was cut using Cricut Happy Hauntings Cartridge (it’s the picture frame)
• Bitter Sweet was colored using my Spectrum Noir Markers with hi-lights using Gelly Pens
• Bitter Sweet was puff-dotted onto the spider web
• Maroon nylon tulle was gathered for the veil in hair and another piece is a bow
• Stick pin was made using beads from my stash
• Clock and key charms are from Miriam’s Crafting Supplies
• Mulberry roses are 1 CM which were purchased from Adele Garcia as she has sales periodically

Spring is in the Air with Outlawz Challenge

I thought I would try with my first entry in an Outlawz Challenge using one of the Sandi Huggett’s that she sends when requested …. Well, let me tell you coloring the image was a pleasure and the easy part . . . . AND its even done before the deadline!!!!!!! As to getting my picture posted that seemed to take forever!!!!!

RECIPE:

• Card was cut 6 x 9 inches using the DCWV Flower Shower Stack, scoring at 2.25 inches from either end using Martha Stewart Score Board and then rounding the corners creating a “Gate” card which is my first attempt! Too many firsts for this challenge!!!!
• On either side of the gate card, I cut a piece 2 x 5.5 inches piece of green paper from Recollections Fashionable Chic
• Scallop that my image lies on was made with improvising using Little Scraps of Heaven Scalloped Pattern Set that I had 2 frames for my flower – Bob said it looked like an Easter Egg. Frame is using Recollections Card Stock
• Image was colored using my Prisma Colored Pencils and Spectrum Noir Markers
• You just gotta love the sentiment inside the card - it was a freebie from Create with TLC which I may proudly add that my card is being showcased on her blog!!!!!  Also, I may be making more Gate Cards as it gives a lot of room for a sentiment!!!!

• Ribbon is Darice OHHH So trendy Accents Sheer Stripe - an old stand-by which I will be lost when Pat Catan’s (a local craft store) quits carrying it
• Mulberry roses are 1 CM which were purchased from Adele Garcia which she offers at various times in different colors and super great prices!!!!!!!

The challenge was easy, the challenge for me was posting my card on the challenge page, and, as a rule, I'm not computer challenged!!!!! Guess, I need to read instructions better!!!!!! I hope you enjoy my card with showing yet another sign that I sew desperately want SPRING!!!!!!

Spring Come to Life - PLEASE!!!

Hi!!! Hope everyone’s having a great week!!! I know I got some decent news from the doctor on Tuesday, only having to wear the boot on my foot another 8 weeks, but NO SURGERY!!! This is good news, as I said, “Dancing in the Street”

On Monday, I was in a crafting mode and needed to make a quick project for Treasure Box Designs Newsletter. I grabbed an older file and as I love to do – biggie sized it and made it into a frame to hang in our home! And, as you know, I love to combine my Design Team projects with sentiments from Create with TLC!

Recipes:

• Treasure Box Designs Growing Like Weeds or Flower Baby, which was a “freebie” at one time if you have that
• finished size of my Flower Baby measures 8.5 inches tall!!!

My first occasion is Scrabble Day which is April 13th - for my card, I drew my inspiration from word art from Create with TLC as she had two that I had downloaded - "It's your word against mine SCRABBLE", and "Live Let Live" with the lettering like a Scrabble Board; but you know me, I just had to take it one step further - but I like how it turned out be most definitely wanted to give credit where inspired!!!! Then, you know when you're out and about and really not looking for a particular paper and it jumps out and bites you in the . . . . well, you get the idea! I was at Michael's the one day and found this wonderful Scrabble paper along with the stickers . . .  that's when I came about to discover this hidden treasure!!!!

Recipe for Scrabble Day:

• card cut 4.25 x 11 and then scored in half
• background paper Recollections Scrabble letters 
• letters are EK Success Scrabble Crossword Game stickers which are on black Recollection Cardstock and then cut with slight border around the lettering

*** who would have thunk that you could find stickers and paper for Scrabble ***

April 18th is International Juggler's Day which I must admit I'm juggling to finish . . . .  sew, put on your imagination caps and imagine this . . . . 

Recipe for Juggler's Day:

• card was cut 6.75 x 12 inches using DCWV The Carnival Stack
• backgrounds were cut one as an oval, one as a scalloped oval, and the other as an arc  - scalloped oval and arc from Recollections card stock and oval from my stash:
  
  
  
• image is Harlequin Hannah from The Stamping Chef which was colored using my Spectrum Noir Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils and hi-lighted with Gelly Pens and then fussy cut around the edges 
• rhinestones were added to Harlequin Hannah's hat using Miriam's Crafting Supplies
• image Got Milk is also from The Stamping Chef which was miniaturized, colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers, and fussy cut around the edges for my magic wheel, aka arc
• computer and house were images found on the computer which were fussy cut around the edges and puff-dotted to the arc
• sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC, "I admire the way you juggle ALL that comes your way" was chalked around the edges which had been cut at the corners with my corner punch ....  if you're reading this and know that I've now broke my corner punch, your remark counts as two . . . .
• balls that get juggled (family, home, phone, and computer) were puff dotted on the arc and then added with a brad to the oval and then to the scalloped oval for movement -- have you noticed I love cards with dimension and that move?
• smart phone was puff-dotted to Hannah's hand covering her little Harlequin
• scalloped oval was glued onto the card background with Hannah puff-dotted onto oval which was glued onto scalloped oval
• and viola . . . . . if you've read this far, remark as to who you know would deserve a card like this is in the drawing for the card

Magic wheel you say .... well, she is juggling and I originally I wanted to make this into a slider card with the images sliding above her head - 

April 23rd is Lover's Day - this card is a new horizon for me as it is my very first easel card and I couldn't just let it lay there - I had to add an Action Wobble to make the couple swinging . . . . .

Recipe for Lover's Day:

• card was cut 5.5 x 8.5 inches following the directions on Splitcoasters using Recollection Cardstock
• Romantic Couple is a Paper from Tsunami Rose Collection cut 4.25 x 5.5 inches
• Romantic Couple was printed out twice with the second page covered in ModPodge Gloss Lustre with 3 coats to give the illusion of an oil painting
• Romantic Couple was then glued onto black Recollection cardstock after the ModPodge was thoroughly dried and fussy cut around the edges 
• gold cording had been glued for the swing and then tied in a knot for the top of the swing
• sentiment was hand-written using Sakura Micro Pen size 3 which gives the illusion of calligraphy 
• paper piecing from Cricut Lacey Labels Cartridge for sentiment was cut at 2.25 inches, chalked around the edges and then puff-dotted on my card

not bad for my first attempt . . . . .
