Cricut Cruise 2012

Hi everyone! As some of you know, I was one of the very lucky winners of the Cricut 5th Anniversary promotion. In just two days, my sister and I will be flying to Texas to board the Mariner of the Seas to cruise the Caribbean with Cricut!
We decided we needed some tshirts to distinguish us as the Canadian cricuteers. Leila designed the shirt in Cricut Craftroom and emailed me the file to work with.
I used the Imagine to fill all of the pieces with colours, then layered thrum all by clicking "do not weld" on each piece (otherwise when you put the layer on it will change to the colour of the layer behind it. However, it is important to only print the project, NOT cut because it will cut all of the layers out since we had clicked "do not weld".
I printed the design onto inkjet transfer that I purchased from Walmart in the office supply section.
The cartridges we used are:
Go Canada - maple leaf
Cricut Everyday - cricut bug
Robotz - font
Imagine All Wrapped Up - colours
This process took me quite a long time because the Craftroom program still does not get along very well with my imagine, it takes a lot of restarting the I and switching cartridges for it to realize that I do actually have them! It sure took a lot of patience, but I was so excited about what I was creating that it was worth the minor frustration! I love that I was able to layer images and print them as one! Awesome! Hopefully Gypsy linking will be an available update soon so I can avoid the technical difficulties with switching out the cartridges!
Hope you like it!

#105 Campin' Critters - Fishin' with Daddy Layout

Hi everyone! Here is a layout I created for the monthly challenge at the Cricut Circle blog! The challenge for August was to create a project featuring a scene created with our Cricut.

For my layout I chose to create a scene using the Campin' Critters cartridge.

Here are the cuts and sizes I used:

Lake scene: 6.75"
Skunk: 2"
Deer: 2.75"
Sign: 2.25"
Fish Badge: 2.5"

The font for the title "Fishin' With Daddy" is from the Robotz cartridge, cut at 1.25" and welded together with my Gypsy (basic and shadow fonts)

Hope you like it!

We Are Blessed

Hi everyone! I made this layout this evening for the challenge at Fantabulous Cricut this week - and it is really last minute so I am glad I got it finished on time!

The challenge was to create a project with a Thankful theme. I am the most thankful for my wonderful husband and three beautiful children! My husband and I are truly blessed!

I used the Cindy Loo cartridge to cut out the tree. I have used this tree cut a few times, it is probably one of my favorites! The piece with the leaves was cut out in white , then the leaves were coloured with my Stampin' Up markers.

The title was cut from the Robotz cartridge! Even though I have two boys, I mainly bought this cartridge for the font. I have yet to cut an actual robot from it!

Hope you like my layout! And by the way, I am also thankful for our Yorkie, Parker, who is also in the photo with my kids, although he is probably the naughtiest of them all :-)
