Scrappy Birthday Blog Hop! - #73 Paper Lace

Hi everyone! I’m so happy you are joining us for the very first Scrappy Birthday Blog Hop celebrating April’s favorite color - GREEN! If you are coming from Mandie's Scrappin' you’re on the right track. If you just joined us, you can go back to the beginning HERE and hop along with us. We’ve had so much fun doing this hop, and we have a wonderful line up with some oh-so-talented creators. You will see some lovely projects and have a chance to win some blog candy along the way, including a fun grand prize for this hop.

My project for this hop is a birthday card I created with a Magnolia stamped image which I coloured with copic markers.

The oval was cut with my Cricut using the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. It was cut at 4".

The background was cut from the Paper Lace cartridge at 5.5".

The "birthday wishes" stamp is by Stampin' Up!

I added some flowers, crystal brads, ribbon and some faux stitching as final touches.

Hope you like it!

What would a birthday be without gifts? This gift could be yours because there is also an overall grand prize just for hopping with us! The grand prize is sponsored by April from Curls & Grins Creations (the first blog on the hop). In order to be eligible for the grand prize you must leave a comment on every blog in the hop and become a follower of April’s blog. Your next blog is Create Serendipity. Happy hopping!

#10 Winter Lace - Feeling Frosty!

Hi everyone! This is the card I made for the weekly Cricut Circle challenge over on their blog. The challenge this week was to create a project with a winter theme using a snowflake cut, white paint and metal. We also had to use at least 2 Cricut cuts.

I used my Imagine to create with the Frosty Pattern cartridge.

The Cricut cartridges I used are:

Winter Lace - Snowflake: cut two at 2.9"
One shadow at 2.9"

Paper Lace - Scalloped square - cut at 3"

Square background - cut at 4.7 "

The card is 5" X 5", and I rounded the corners with a corner rounder.

I tied some linen thread (Stampin' Up) to a metal button and attached it to the center of the snowflake.

I ran the lower edge through the Cuttlebug using the Snowflakes embossing folder. I used a white paint dauber (Ranger) to paint the embossed backgound. Then I wiped over it with a paper towel.

Velvet ribbon was adhered along the upper edge of the embossing.

Pewter eyelets (Making Memories) were attached to each corner of the background piece.
For a final touch, "for you" (Stampin' Up) was stamped in the upper corner, then I inked around the edge of the card with the same ink (Bermuda Bay, SU!).
Hope you like it!

Wreath Card

Hi everyone! Here is a card I created for the challenge this week at the Cricut Circle Blog. Our challenge was to create a card or tag using this sketch:

We also were asked to use at least two Cricut cuts on our project.

The wreath is from Celebrate with a Flourish.

The fancy border is from Paper Lace.

The poinsettias are from Joys of the Season.

For the background I used the Season's Greetings cuttlebug embossing folder and ran a green ink pad over the embossed image.

I added some white I-Rock metal accents to the border, itty bitty brads to the poinsettias and some red tinsel glitter to the bow knot on the wreath.
Hope you like it!
