#161 Celebrations - Happy Birthday Card

Hi everyone!  I am back with my last entry into the challenges for National Scrapbooking Day on the Cricut Circle Blog!  The final challenge was to create a project using an older cartridge along with a newer cartridge.  I chose to create a birthday card featuring Celebrations, an older cartridge, and This & That, a newer Creative Memories cartridge.

From Celebrations, I cut "Happy" and "Birthday" at 2.34", and the scalloped square at 5.6"

From This & That, I cut the piece of cake at 3".

I embossed the scalloped square with the cupcake Cuttlebug folder from the Once Upon a Princess companion set.  I then ran a Versamark ink pad over the paper and embossed it with Hibiscus Rose Orange embossing powder by Lindy's Stamp Gang.  Very shimmery!

Here is a closer look:
The glitter paper I used for "Happy Birthday" is POW by American Crafts.  It has a really smooth surface and cuts like butter in the Cricut!  LOVE it!

Hope you like it!

Merry Christmas Tag

Hi everyone! I created this tag for a challenge at My Creative Time. The task was to create a Christmas themed project using the Celebrations cartridge! Since this cartridge features mainly birthday related images, it definitely was a challenge! I chose to create a tag with the stack of presents image. I cut it out three times in different colours and cut the ribbon in gold glittery cardstock. The patterned paper is from DCWV Christmas stack. The "merry" stamp up in the corner is by Stampin' Up.
Hope you like it!
