Day 4 -Word Quotes ~new release

I can hardly believe we are here at day 4 of the Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot, I'm having so much fun with these stamps and dies, I hope you are enjoying the new stamps and dies and all the creative projects!
Today we're sharing a sneak peek of the Word Quotes metal die set that I had the privilege of designing, this is a fun versatile set that will be great for your everyday projects.
Remember all new stamp sets and metal dies will be available for purchase at My Craft Spot on Saturday.

I have several photo tutorials below giving you a few ideas on how to use this metal die set. One of the things that I love about this set is you can make cards in just a few minutes, like I've done below.  I made 3"x3" note cards easy-peasy, the tiny heart and butterfly images I used are from the Small Alphabet metal die set.
more cards
The Word Quotes metal die is a set of 4; one solid quote bubble, and three quote bubbles with words... hello, friend and thank you.  Below is a photo tutorial of how I made the cards above.
1) cut out two quote bubbles using the solid die, I used a pattern cardstock and a solid cardstock.
2) take the solid cardstock bubble that was just cut and one of the word dies.
3) place it directly over the cardstock, there will be just a small edge of cardstock showing, secure with tape to keep it from moving while die cutting. Cut out with your choice of die cutting machines.
4) here is your cut out image, remove all the pieces in between the hello word.
5) now layer the "hello" word over the pattern cardstock you cut in picture #1.  Love it!!
Here is another fun idea using the Word Quote metal die...
1) Cut two of the word dies in two colors, I'm using glitter cardstock. Place a few pieces of tape behind the first hello in this case it's the pink hello, this will hold all those tiny pieces in place. keep all the negative pieces from the hello (the pieces you would normally throw away).
2)  Now place all the negative yellow pieces inside of the pink hello.
**Not shown I did decide to cut out a solid quote bubble and glue it on the back of the pink hello after adding all the negative pieces just so everything was secure before adhering it to my card.
How cool is this!!!  Creatively simple and I love the glitter, the butterfly is from the Small Alphabet metal die set.
And yet I have another idea to share...
1) I took a piece of patterned cardstock size 4 1/8" x 5 1/4" (use any size you like) then cut out one of the word quotes I used the word "friend" (save the dot for the "i" if you want to use it). Also cut out the same word quote in a solid cardstock (the first tutorial on this post shows how to cut this out.
2) Place the solid cardstock directly over the patterned paper matching up the word friend.
Decorate your card as desired.  I took a small piece of cardstock (big enough to fit behind the quote bubble), embossed it using the Cuttlebug embossing folder Divine Swirl.  Added a bit of Caribbean Crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot along with a flower border from the new Fancy Edges 2 metal die.

Oh Baby Baby Hippo Note Card Box

This super cute baby card gift box I actually made quite some time ago but never posted it, and it is just too cute to pass by, also since I've been posting a few baby shower items I though it would be great to add it now.
I did create this using my Design Studio, and welded the tree and the words to the gift box.
Tags bags boxes and more was used for the box. I cut a second box using designer paper, then trimmed about 1/4" off each side to layer over the white cardstock box.
The adorable hippo is from the ZooBalloo cricut cartridge page 89 of the handbook.
The tree page 121, and the "Oh Baby" is on page 124 all from ZooBalloo
ZooBalloo cricut cartridge also has a cute card feature that I used to make the hippo note cards that I placed inside the box. I made a square window from George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge.
Thanks so much for visiting, and thank you for you comments they really make my day!!

Embellishment Tutorial -Designed 2 Delight Extravaganza

I love this little "Cup of Posies" digital image from Designed 2 Delight, for my embellishment tutorial, and as a special treat each design member of D2D has created a beautiful handmade embellishment along with a tutorial to share.

My tutorial is "Hand Stitching with Beads"
I've previously colored my image with copic markers, then used the following tools to create my stitching embellishment.
**Piercing mat, piercing tool, needle and thread, small seed beads**
When choosing your beads make sure that your needle is small enough that the beads will slide all the way past the needles eye and onto the thread.

I pierced 10 holes around the heart image on the mug, I've numbered each hole, to help with the tutorial directions.
Using the needle and thread I pushed up through hole #1 (I kept my thread doubled for thickness) I did not tie a knot, instead I place a piece of tape to hold my threads in place.

I place my first bead onto my needle then went down hole #2, thread up through #3, add my second bead, down #4, up hole #5. I continued around the heard until I came up through hole #1. Then continued adding beads in the same manner as I went around the heart in reverse direction.

When I came back up hole #1 I added one more bead to the bottom of the heart, and took my thread back through the same hole (#1) as shown in the photo below.

For the flowers, I poked holes in the center of each. I came up one hole with my needle, added a white bead then went back down the same hole. I continued until I had added beads to all flower centers.
And just to show you the back of my project... it doesn't have to look pretty, see how messy mine is :)

I also added beads to patterned paper for a fun corner embellishment. I used a Stampin Up piercing template to make my holes, you also could use a ruler.
I Then used the same method as above to add red beads to my punched design.

My finished card
I used my computer and printed out the "Thinking of You" saying, then added two beads for more embellishment.
