Favorite Technique -My Craft Spot Challenge

Hello everyone, each Monday there is a new challenge at My Craft Spot this week is challenge #111... that's a lot of challenges, and there is always something fun to challenge you and get your creative juices going.
This weeks challenge...
Favorite Technique
what is your favorite technique?  Share your project with us for this weeks challenge at My Craft Spot.

I had so much fun making this shaker card, I included two of my latest favorite techniques ... Coloring with Copic Markers, and Sewing using my sewing machine.
I used several supplies from My Craft Spot:
Stamp Sets: Jar Basics, Jar Full of Fall and Happy Thanksgiving
Metal Dies: Jar Basics, Ornate Labels
Crinkle Ribbon: Caribbean
Sequins (brand new product): Chocolate Sundae
All products can be found -HERE.
I'll have a video of how I made this card, just as soon as I edit it. :) ... coming soon...
I hand cut this banner, the phrase is from the Happy Thanksgiving stamp set, here you can see the machine zig-zag stitching too. I also added the Caribbean crinkle ribbon under the jar lid.
The jar was stamped using the Jar Basics stamp set, and cut out using the Jar Basics metal dies. My acorns are stamped from the Jar Full of Fall stamp set and colored using Copic markers. Inside the jar is the Chocolate Sundae Sequins.
The brown strip of cardstock that I used a border punch from Recollections.
I used a double layer of craft foam (fun foam) to make the shaker box, and a piece of clear acetate for the window, I cut it using my Jar Basics metal die.
This is the inside of my card, the phrase is again stamped from the Happy Thanksgiving stamp set, then added another colored acorn.

Remember to head over to My Craft Spot to see more 'Favorite Techniques' projects made by the My Craft Spot design team -HERE. We would love you to join us for this weeks challenge

Sending Hugs and Kisses

Hi Crafters, I've made a quick and easy get well card to share with you, it's being featured over at My Craft Spot today.
I used the new Stampin' Around Summer stamp set, the Tiny Doilies metal dies, Kraft Bakers Twine and Caribbean Crinkle Ribbon all available at in the My Craft Spot shop -HERE.
My cute heart balloon was cut from the Create A Critter cricut cartridge at 3 3/4" and on page 49 of the handbook. I cut only two layers; the black and the pink polka dot with the holes for the face, I then hand cut a small piece of white cardstock to place behind the "highlight" area. I tied the balloon using Kraft bakers twine.
The clouds were also cut from Create A Critter they can be found on pg. 65 of the handbook, I cut two sizes, 1" and 3/4".
I really like this sentiment from the Stampin' Around Summer stamp set, I love the medicine bottle image, as well as the tiny heart that I stamped inside the bottle.
There are two get well circle sentiments as well as several images in the Stampin' Around Summer set that are prefect for your get well cards.
I stamped the images on pieces of card stock that were cut out using the Tiny Doilies metal die set
Below is an above view of how I layered the Tiny Doilies,  I cut out two of the "donut" shaped images one using pink card stock, the second using craft foam so I could pop the sentiment up. The extra smaller circle from the craft foam (the donut hole), I added it behind the doily to pop it up from the Caribbean crinkle ribbon.
For the inside of the card I added three of the images from the Stampin' Around Summer stamp set.
Side view of card.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, have a wonderfully creative day!

Red White and Blue Fantabulous Cricut Cricut Crawl

Hello everyone I'm so excited you've joined me on my blog today. My blog is the last stop for the Fantabulous Cricut... Cricut Crawl (our version of a Blog Hop) so in honor of the 4th of July holiday, our theme is Red, White and Blue.  Each Design Team member has created a fabulous project using Red, White and Blue as the main colors, and of course at least one Cricut cut!

If you've come from my friend Rebecca's blog The Crafting Misfit, you're in the right place!  If you've just happened across my blog and would like to see all the fabulous Design Team creations head on over to Fantabulous Cricut -HERE to start at the beginning.

Make sure to check out each DT member's blog!  There will be Blog Candy along the way at some of our DT members' blogs, and there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant who submits a "Red White and Blue" project at FCCB! So remember to join in on the challenge at FCCB -HERE.

I had a fun home decor Item that I wanted to create for this crawl... but unfortunately I had a struggle with Cricut Craft Room a bit, and when I finished designing my project my computer and cricut maching just wouldn't cooporate. Hopefully I'll get it to cut this week and when I do I'll share it with you.
So instead I decided to make this cute 4th of July card using the A Child's Year cricut cartridge the image I used is on page 45 of the handbook cut at 3 3/4". I love the glitter paper it was purchased in single sheets from JoAnn's.
The border punch is from EK Success I believe it's called "Slim Edger Circle Chain".
I used My Craft Spot Denim crinkle ribbon for my bow, the 4th of July sentiment is from the new Tiny Tags 3 stamp set that was just released on Saturday From My Craft Spot.
The banner is the Lacy Banners Metal Dies that I designed and is available from My Craft Spot.
 Side view of my card.
I used black craft foam to pop these cute kids up off the card, I love the dimension that it gave.
Thanks for taking a peek at my "Red, White and Blue" card and I'm your last stop for the Criuct Crawl.

Blog Hop Order:
Ally
Robin (you are here)

I'm thrilled to share my "blog hop" project with you and I couldn't resist grabbing my Small Alphabet Metal Die to create my card these dies are so fun, I love the shapes in this die set too.
I started with this great patterned paper from October Afternoon Travel Girl it's an 8"x 8" pad, I love the pattern papers in this collection, so the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this sheet of paper that I used on my card was my daughters friend... she loves Paris, and hopes to go their someday.
So my card is dedicated to all you Paris lovers.
The Eiffel Tower is cut out in grey textured cardstock using my Silihouette Cameo, the image can be found -HERE.  I sponged the edges using a dark grey ink, then again gently sponged the edges and top with a bit of white ink, the textured cardstock really gives the tower a weathered look.
I wanted the tower to pop off the card, so I used a double layer of black craft foam (fun foam) to pop it up.
What is so fun about metal dies is you can cut other mediums besides paper easily, I used the dies to cut my letters and hearts out of craft foam... Love It!

Craft foam is such a solid color, and sometimes bright, so I decided to tone down the color a bit using my Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink pad.
Below is a photo of the alphabet letters cut out of craft foam un-inked. I then took my sponge tool and added ink to the top of the foam.
The photo below shows the added ink, this just gives it more of a distressed look so the foam is not so solid looking... if that makes since.
I used two types of foam and both die cut very well. The pink is just plain craft foam, the blue is sticker back. The sticker back is my favorite for using with the small letters, it makes it much easier to add to you cards.
Close up of the hearts.

The lace ribbon is from Stampin' Up, kind of gave it a frilly-vintage feel.
Added a bit of the pattern paper to the inside of the card too.
I hope you enjoyed my Paris tour of my card :)

And now I'm so excited to give one of the metal die set that I designed away, Small Alphabet Metal Die to one fantabulous winner, for your chance to win, follow the steps below......

Day 4 My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party -Tasty Treats

I can hardly believe we are here at day 4 of the Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot, I'm having so much fun with these stamps and dies, I hope you are enjoying all the creative projects!
Today we're sharing a sneak peek of the "Stampin' Around Summer" stamp set, this is our 4th stamp set in our series of Stampin' Around sets that I've designed for Kimberly. The other sets are Stampin' Around Fall, Stampin' Around Christmas and Stampin' Around Spring. These stamp are so fun and have a coordinating metal die, Tiny Doilies, available for purchase now.
Remember all new stamp sets and metal dies will be available for purchase at My Craft Spot on Saturday.

I enjoyed making this lemonade stand card, and the sentiment is just perfect! When Life Gives You Lemons ~ Make Lemonade
Here is a close up of my tag using the Tiny Doily Metal die set that coordinates perfectly with the all of the Stampin' Around Stamp sets.
The Bakers Twine is also available from My Craft Spot, I used the yummy colors: Lemon Drop and Green Apple.
Notice on the awning of the lemonade stand the yellow and green pieces of cardstock has a fun pattern, these were stamped using the Brand New Patterns Blocks stamp set, which was featured on Tuesday.
Side view of my 3D tag
Below is an image of the Tiny Doilies Metal Dies, they coordinate perfectly with the Stampin' Around stamp set series.
I used three images from this set (marked with red X's). The small circle in the upper right corner I cut twice, once on white cardstock that I stamped the lemonade pitcher that I colored with my copic markers. The second circle I cut using white craft foam (fun foam), to give my tag a 3D look.
This brown pattern paper is just one that I had in my stash, but it was prefect! I inked the edges using Tim Holtz Tea Die ink pad.
The lemonade stand was purchased from the Silhouette Store -HERE.

Day 4 -My Craft Spot Release Party ~Home Is...

Wow... this week is flying by, here we are at day 4 of the Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot, and I'm having so much fun with the new stamps and metal dies! Today we are sharing a sneak peek of the new "Stampin' Around Spring" stamp set, you will have so much fun creating cards and project using this set, it coordinates with the Tiny Doilies Metal Dies.
Remember the 5 new stamp sets and two metal dies sets will be available for purchase at My Craft Spot on Saturday.

I love shape cards, so I couldn't resist making another one. This cute house is an image from Miss Kate Cuttables called "house", using my Silhouette Cameo I made the image into a shape card.
Added extra layering on the front of the card, using some red craft foam between the layers. The added another white layer to the inside of my card.

Behind the windows I added a piece of vellum.  For the door I added the vellum and a yellow piece of cardstock to make it look like light is shinning through. :)
I made a bow using Acorn crinkle ribbon and another bow with Ivory jute both from My Craft Spot. The rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts. I made my sentiment look like a wreath hanging below the bow using the Tiny Doily Metal Dies. Below is a photo showing how I made it.
Below shows how I made the wreath.
Another view of the card
For the inside of the card, I stamped the house image which is from this Stampin' Around Spring stamps set, the sentiment is from Friends and Neighbors Inside & Out stamp set, available at My Craft Spot shop -HERE.

Day 1 Stamp Release Party! Teacher Apple Box

Woo Hoo... today is day one of the Stamp Release Party at My Craft Spot, this week Kimberly and the talented design team (which I'm thankful to be a part of) will be sharing projects all week long from the five new stamp sets and one brand new metal die set, you are going to love these stamp sets and metal die.

Each day, there will be prizes at My Craft Spot, then on Saturday we'll have a design team Stamp Release Party Blog Hop with prized at each blog along the way!
Join us everyday this week!!
Today, day one, we are featuring the new "Stampin' Around Fall" stamp set and "Tiny Doily Metal Dies" (6 dies). Kimberly gave me the opportunity once again to design this fun stamp set along with these awesome doily dies.
This stamp set is great for Fall, with three circle sentiments for our teachers, and three Fall themed circle sentiments, as well as three Halloween themed circle sentiments.  Included with this set are 13 tiny images to mix and match.
The Tiny Doily Dies coordinates with the Stampin' Around Fall stamp set, and is also fun and versatile it can also be used with many other stamp sets, you will want to add this to your collection.

For my project I made a super cute teacher apple box using the Sweet Tooth Boxes cricut cartridge.  I haven't purchased a cricut cartridge for quite a while, until recently.... when I purchased this cartridge... my favorite place to shop for cartridges... ebay!  I picked up this one for less than $15 with free shipping.
My apple box (cupcake box) was cut ath 10"
The leaf was cut using Walk in My Garden cricut cartridge, the stem was cut by hand.
Below is one of the circle sentiment stamps and the apple stamp image from the Stampin' Around Fall stamp set that I used for my tag, the fun paper doily shape and the doughnut shape are from the Tiny Tags Metal Dies.
I attached the tag using Vintage Cherry Twine.
This stamp set and metal dies will be available for purchase at My Craft Spot on Saturday (8 Sept. 2012).
Flip side of my tag.. it's double sided, another circle sentiment stamp with the book stamp image.
Side view of the tag, I popped up the doughnut shaped image using craft foam. Did you know that your metal dies can cut craft foam (sometimes called -fun foam)? That's what I did with the doughnut shaped metal die.
Apple box opened.
Thanks for stopping by today, and remember to head over to My Craft Spot to see the many other amazing projects made by Kimberly and her design team using the brand new Stampin' Around Fall stamp set and the Tiny Doily Metal Dies, also remember to leave a comment on Kimberly's blog (My Craft Spot) today for your chance to win the Hocus Pocus Crinkle Ribbon, this ribbon is perfect for you Fall and Halloween projects. click -HERE for My Craft Spot.
