Welcome to the Neighborhood -Photo Tutorial

Hello everyone, I'm here with another amazing Monday challenge for My Craft Spot.
 This weeks challenge...
 Welcome to the Neighborhood

I'm really excited to share my neighborhood card with you today, I've actually tried a new technique that I came up with on my own... perhaps it has been done, but I've never seen it... so then I guess I can say this is my original idea right?    :)
This is my vinyl watercolor card
I saw this cute house image on the Silhouette blog -HERE (I added a frame around the image) and thought it would be fun to watercolor it... then the idea came to me of using vinyl on the card so when I water colored it the vinyl would stay put, instead of cardstock that might wrinkle or tear when it got wet.  Also when using vinyl it's sticky on the back so it omits the use of messy glue... bonus!
Used my Tim Holtz Distress Markers for the color, and Memento ink for the sentiment.
Photo tutorial of how I made my card.

Prefect sentiment for this card! The stamp is from the Friends & Neighbors Inside & Out stamp set from My Craft Spot I popped up the banner using foam tape.

I'll definitely be making more vinyl water color cards in the future... and hope to make a video tutorial too   :)

Graduation Shape Card -Hip Hip Hooray!

Hello friends, I have a fun Graduation shape card for you today, I'm sharing this post over at My Craft Spot as well. I used two of Kimberly's stamp sets... Sweet Sentiments set #2 and Tiny Tags.

I made this card from scratch using my Silhouette Cameo, and it was easy peasy with all the simple features that are in the silhouette studio.
With graduation coming up so quickly I wanted to have a few cards to give to my daughters friends, to celebrate their special day.
I love shape cards but my favorite part of this card is the fun wavy banner!
I stamped the Hip Hip Hooray! from Sweet Sentiments #2 and the word Graduate is from the Tiny Tags stamp set (I masked off the "way to go" so it wouldn't get inked).
I made two score lines on each side of the words then folded them back and forth, added thick mounting tape between each fold to give it some lift.
The graduation hat is from Miss Kate Cuttables Wise Owl, but I only use the hat.  I added a layer of black fun foam to give it a 3-D look, along with orange embroidery floss for the tassel.

Bundle of Joy -My Craft Spot Project

Hello everyone, each Monday there is a new challenge at My Craft Spot this week is challenge #97... that's a lot of challenges, and there is always something fun to challenge you and get your creative juices going.
This weeks challenge...
Invitations and Announcements
(baby, graduate, wedding, parties - we want to see them all!)

This is a post card style pocket card that I made into a baby announcement.
I started with an 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock, folded it in half then cut 1 1/2" off the top.
I had fun incorporating several stamp sets from My Craft Spot in designing this card.
I used the Postage Stamp stamp set along with the coordinating Postage Stamp metal die. The "it's a Girl" is from the Bundle of Joy stamp set.
These adorable pink feet are cut from the New Arrival cricut cartridge found on pg. 110 of the handbook and cut at 3 3/4"
I used the Scalloped Diamond border punch from EK Success, on the brown piece of cardstock.
I used my sewing machine to sew all around the card.
My announcement pulls out of the pocket, it would also be fun to place a photo in the pocket as well.
The Bundle of Joy phrase is from the New Arrival stamp set, along with the individual words name:, length: etc.
Close us of the announcement
The tiny postage stamp images on the announcement card are from the Postage Stamp stamp set, the words in the circle read "special delivery" ... so appropriate right!
