Millikin Vespers 2015

Image
The beautiful holiday tradition of Millikin Vespers ("evening prayers") was held last weekend out at Kirkland Fine Arts Center. For those not able to attend, you can listen to the 90-minute performance on NowDecatur.com's podcast: http://www.nowdecatur.com/podcasts/vespers-at-millikin-2015/ 2015 marked the 57th annual performance of Vespers.  Thru those 50+ years, nearly 15,000 Millikin students/staff have been involved in one way or another with the event. What a wonderful gift from these students, who mean so much to Decatur. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Hockeyville Celebration

Image
Nothing since the WSOY Community Food Drive last October ( http://picturedecatur.blogspot.com/2014/10/1-day-1-million-pounds.html ) has united the Decatur and Macon County community like the Kraft Hockeyville USA contest did this Spring. And although Decatur finished in 2nd place, we have absolutely nothing to be sad about.  Our community is strong.  Hold your heads high, Decatur.  We'll come back at them harder and stronger next year!
