Remember we are a vintage or shabby chic challenge - I say this because recently we've been getting many entries that don't fit the challenge. We believe it's because entries are looking for challenges that may fit their projects without knowing that our MAIN THEME is always "vintage or shabby chic"....

here are the definitions of each that may help you decide...

the easy one is" vintage" = 

an old item, reflection of previous era, and processed grapes LOL

From Wikipedia, the hard one to understand is "shabby chic" =

 a form of interior design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their appearance of age and signs of wear and tear or where new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, opulent, yet cottage-style decor, often with an affected feel is emphasized to differentiate it from genuine period decor. 

Well, now I've probably confused you more...

Bottom line - they both reflect time gone by! (-:

so I chose "young love"...thought this was a sweet image from TJ Designs

used various scraps of designer paper and love the crinkle ribbon called Sea Foam...card base is from Stampin Up - Sage Shadow.

Things with Wings

(birds, butterflys, bees, etc)

I am still enjoying the images I've used for my September projects for Sugar Creek Hollow using images from TJ Designs - this is one of their vintage bird images....and I added the butterflys

Base cardstock is SU's  Not Quite Navy and the butterfly flourish in the background is from Silhouette Cameo. Little butterflys are Martha Stewart punch, stash designer paper, touched up image with Copic Y08, E31, 35, 37, and bleach pen to remove a little color from front bird,  added ribbon and gold pearls using Viva Pear Pen.....

I am loving using the images from TJ Designs that I purchased this past summer at the huge American Scrapbooking Convention in Chantilly, VA

Card stock dark brown and black, Designer paper is stash Basic Grey, stash ribbon and hardware from Stampin Up, Viva Pearl Pen - black....hand wrote sentiment white gel pen, corner punch from EK

PRETTY IN PINK

use monochromatic shades of pink!

ahhhhh right up our alley, who doesn't love pink (-:

This week my card is very quick and easy ....used a wonderful
TJ Designs Vintage image

 AND got to use my most favorite lace trim

Card base is from GKD - Innocent Pink and Designer Paper is stash from Stampin Up.

stash ribbon and a few flowers, VOILA! Done...

didn't add a sentiment because this is a great card for almost any occasion

so saving it (-:

Hello to Saturday! and wonderful rain LOL but at least it isn't torrential !!

 This week at Sugar Creek Hollow, in honor of the upcoming Olympics in England, 

our theme is to create vintage or shabby chic projects using a

 ...vintage sport theme!

Hubby and I enjoy Nascar (go Junior!)  ...hmmmm wonder who's gonna win ?

Couple of weeks ago I attended wonderful craft show in Chantilly, VA and found some precious vintage images from TJ Designs. I thought this image was just adorable...

AND at that same show I found this awesome....i guess it's lace? or is it ribbon ....i don't know but i think its gorgeous - it was pricey but i really love it...

what's this stuff called? (-:

used my viva pearl pen - Salmon and white gel pen for the dots, card base is SU's Old Olive and Pretty in Pink, Designer paper from K&Co - Life's Journey, and Spellbinders label 8
