Crafters of Faith 1st Group challenge

hi there,
This card was a real joy to create. Our blogging group, Crafters of Faith, was challenged by our Leader- Kelly, to create a card or scrapbook page that should include an image of something that best depicts your thoughts and heart-feelings of what Genesis and the creation means to you and at least one of these colors of the creation: Yellow, Blue, Green and/or Brown!

have the yellow, blue, a little green but also added purple (for royalty)

Changed my mind so many times in making this card. Decided finally on creating a night and day background with the butterfly representing our change when we "put off the old man" and "put on the new" when we accept his wonderful gift of salvation! When our Lord created this world for us, he knew we would need a Saviour...so John 3:16 naturally comes to mind....

Can't wait to pop around to the rest of the group's blogs and see what they created!

have a blessed day,

Psalm 118:24

hello,
One of my most favorite challenge blogs is Stampin Sisters in Christ . I sincerely appreciate their insight into Scripture. They challenge us spiritually to bring ourselves closer to Christ, and they share with us each week their talent that reveals their love for our Lord.
This week their theme verse is Phil 4: 13 and the challenge is...
Make a card/project of encouragement or congratulations.

I started to use my stamp with Phil 4:13 but then thought...no matter what we are going through...there are no guarantees for tomorrow... and I'm encouraged about what today brings.
What can I do for the Lord today? Who can I share Jesus with?
the encouragement ..This IS the day that the Lord has made (-: We serve a living Saviour!!!

I am thrilled with a stamp set I won from the Layers of Color Blog Hop. It's called a "Touch of Elegance". Can you see it in the corners and behind the sentiment? Will definitely be my "go to" set for flourishes!
I have a second card I'm working on for this challenge also....hope to post it tonight...

have a blessed day,

White on White Challenge - Stampin Sisters in Christ

wow - the Stampin Sisters in Christ had a tough one this week - challenge was to use either "all white" or "all cream"...I noticed that some blended the two - but I decided to take the challenge...
and chose All White!

ran the base mat thru the Cuttlebug twice using two different THoltz folders then distressed the edges with my scissors. Cut the pendant nestie in half and doubled it on it's self in the corner. Added white satin ribbon. Stamped the sentiment using silver heat embossing powder and then ran white stickles (Frosted Lace)  around the edges.
Embellished with sparkly white organdy ribbon bow and white mini pearls.

Hard to get a good pic...dont know where the sentiment came from ...purchased at a crafting show a long time ago. It's unmatted red rubber.

The Scripture verse for the challenge is ...
Phillipians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

there are times I can't do this without going to the verse on my card first...so thankful to know that the Lord loves us so much that he made the way for us to be with Him and to help us lead a life that will bring Him the honor and glory...our relationship with Jesus determines our destiny for eternity. This is what we've been studying in the Jail Bible Study. "Eternity" is a hard concept to grasp but I do know that I want to be in Heaven with Christ (John 3:16) and not in hell with those who reject him....shudder just thinking about burning forever...

well now..on that happy note LOL...have a blessed day!

thoughts n prayers - quick card

didnt think I would have a chance to post this one...but find myself with some time this evening after all.
this card is for the color challenge at STV (and already posted there) to use blue n white and for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge to let someone know you are praying for them...

well this card fits exactly both challenges AND is easy for my friends new to cardmaking!just follow directions under card...enjoy!

using SU Not Quite Navy, stamped my sentiment and using the tree stamp from GKD's Tree Silhouette set, stamped the trees and stamped them a second time without inking to give the lighter background trees. Then placed the nestie over the area I wanted to keep, and ran it through the CB. Now, before removing the cut paper from the nestie, sponged around the border with Not Quite Navy. Removed it from nestie and adhered to light blue mat and adhered that to the SU design paper. Use any matching ribbon across the bottom of the card and adhere to card base which is also SU Not Quite Navy - added some mini blue pearls to the four corners of the image...done!

Back to work tomorrow and my jail bible study tomorrow night - please pray for these women!
Have a blessed day,

This was one of the first scriptures I memorized (and keep in my heart ) when I accepted Christ as my Savior!
"Life" always has meaning when we know without a doubt that our Lord...will never leave us!
making this post super short - will be gone most of the weekend! if any of you have heard of the Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster, PA - headed there tomorrow for a one day trip! going to be a long day, it's a 4.5 hour drive to get there...but sooooo looking forward to it  :)))) and Sunday afternoon with grankids!!!!

Have a blessed and beautiful weekend everyone!

Isaiah 40:31

A favorite verse! The stamp with the eagle and verse has no name, sorry. It is mounted (using the tip from a few posts back) on a cut-out piece of a carry-out container. Love this - didnt use a jillion dots !!! The clouds don't show very well in the picture.

The background stamp is a huge stamp..so here is another

TIP: lay your stamp with its picture down and the rubber facing up..ink your stamp with the rubber facing up... lay your cardstock on top and then use your brayer and roll it over the cardstock (press down on one corner so your card doesnt move while running the brayer over it). You will get a clean stamped image with no blank spots. Much easier than turning your large stamp over and pressing it down on the cardstock, especially when the stamp is this big....you probably already knew this... but if not, try it !!

Stamps: eagle/verse unknown, Trees Backgrounder from Sonlight Impressions
Paper: SU Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Cranberry Crisp (wish that was still around)
Ink: Memento black, Old Olive, Border Blue
Eagle is done with SU watercolor crayons
Embellishment: SU Cranberry Crisp ribbon
Technique: Matting

Have a blessed day, :)

Sending Prayers STVSC20

For this card, I wanted to use the colors found on this Basic Grey Wisteria paper. It is a very soft, delicate card. You can't see it well, but there is sheer ribbon across the bottom that has more flowers already on it that matched the paper. The flowers and leaves were punched with assorted Marvy punches...don't forget the Cuttlebug! Sentiment is from the Arranged with Love set from Gina K (see sidebar)... I really like this one.
