hi there, I've missed so much the past two weeks - several blog hops and challenges I wanted to do...BUT...my company's financial operations are on the calendar year and so I have been swamped...

however didnt want to miss getting my 3 entries in over at Sugar Creek Hollow to be entered in the draw for that very generous blog candy - a CRICUT!
only have one card assembled for now (but do have 2 more in the works)... first entry:

used the gorgeous set from Layers of Color "Teacup Blessings" and the corner stamp is from LOC's set "Touch of Elegance"

the rest of the supplies are: cardstock from MFP - Evergreen, design paper from Webster's Pages, ink was Memento Black and Ranger's Distressed "Pine Needles" and "Milled Lavendar". Colored with Copics BV00, 01, 11...BG18, YG 91

ok, going to crash - have to be out early in am but hopefully back home at a normal time!

Christmas is only 5 days away!  just need to wrap and bake  - hopefully on Saturday...

and to all my blogging friends out west in that huge snow storm - hope all are safe and have your power and heat!

hi there, well since my time on the Design Team for Sugar Creek Hollow doesn't start until January, I'm still trying to win their blog candy - the Cricut!!!
so I have my three entries for this week's challenge "to create with non-traditional colors" for Christmas:

this first two are done with Layers of Color " Christmas Blessings" " - yep, I love this set. This is another way I've used it...non-traditional color is primarily  shades of Turquoise for the first one and Turquoise, Brown and Black for the second one!

and the third one is done with a stamp from Tin Can Mail - primarily shades of Brown matted onto ivory card base....
all coloring done with Copics...
hope you get a chance to enter - wouldnt winning a Cricut be an absolute awesome Christmas present!

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge and Layers of Color Stamps!

hi there,
Love Layers of Color and for me - they are my "go to" vintage stamps...this week at Sugar Creek Hollow  the challenge is to create a "Fancy Fold" project.  I'm a "gate fold" gal who uses a mini velcro dot to keep card closed.

hope you like....

well, now I'm really behind on Christmas cards but for a good reason - money! I sold my 45 cards (sad that that's all I had done) for....drumroll please...for $180 !!! a wonderful co-worker wanted to see my Christmas cards and then decided to buy the whole box (I kicked in the plastic container LOL)...crazy - who spends that on cards!
Ohhhhh Iiiiii DO - supplies arent cheap (-:

so dont be surprised if your Christmas card is just a stamped Merry Christmas CAS card! (-:

hugs,
supplies:
Layers of Color: Christmas Verses and Poinsettia Frame
Cardstock - MFP's Aged Cranberry, white
Ink:  Color Box Licorice, Ranger's Distress - Peeled Paint Green and Burlap

a Christmas card

hi there,
just had fun creating a card just ....because!
No challenge, no design team, no one needing a card....just something I sat here and did while watching the movie "Fireproof" (have a box of Kleenex right beside me LOL)

used the gorgeous stamps from Layers of Color
"Glad Tidings" and "Touch of Elegance"

forgot to run the embossing buddy over cardstock before embossing so it has a few snowy spots and
can hardly see the photo corners - tip: use lighter base when adding black photo corners LOL

ok, movie over - I'm all good cried out (-:
hugs and have a blessed weekend

ps  if you havent seen the movie "Fireproof "or the most recent release "Courageous"...treat yourself - will be a blessing to you (and watch with hubby, double blessing!)

2 more entries for Sugar Creek Hollow

major night owl attack ...
I'm so glad to be home..and STAMPING! can't sleep so went ahead and did my next two cards for the challenge over at Sugar Creek Hollow using the same stamp from Layers of Color but in two totally different layouts and color combos!

love this "tear" technique - different!! and used that Delicata Golden Glitz ink again (lovin that stuff!)

i stamped the image once on white then on brown cardstock - tore them and then pieced them together using the opposite color....you can see where I sponged the edges...and I love that vintage doesnt always mean darker or sepia colors. Stripes and spots are in my design paper and added the photo corner with liquid pearls, paper flowers from stash and leaves from scraps using MS punch...colored lightly with Copic B21, 45 and E11, matted using spellbinder's classic scalloped squares small

for this one, I used corner punch and rounded the two bottom corners. Added my gold spots randomly with gold gel pen on the brown piece. My stripes are embossed with the cuttlebug folder and lightly sponged with Ranger's Aged Mahogany, then crimped half of scrap from Graphic 45 with the small vintage Christmas image, sponged edges and added dots.  Added scrap piece of twill ribbon to upper corner and leaf spring from MS punch to bottom corner. This card opens from the side.

hope I didnt leave anything out - think I will see if I can finally get to sleep now ....have long day at work tomorrow after being off for a few days...
but it's alllllll good - blessed to have work KWIM!

will be around to visit you soon,
hugs

Sugar Creek Hollow and Layers of Color

The wonderful vintage challenges at Sugar Creek Hollow and the stamps from Layers of Color are just blending so wonderfully!!! This sentiment from LOC is going to be one of the designs for my Christmas Cards ...so you will be seeing it used a lot in various ways (-*...this week the challenge at SCH is "stripes and spots"...

I just got home earlier today from being gone since last Thursday but after I was unpacked, dinner done, etc etc couldnt wait to see what I've missed...went straight to the SCH site because I want to get 3 entries in this week...saw the challenge...and did this quick card for the challenge...

let my stash designer paper bring the stripes and spots...used brown cardstock for base and matting.

Have been wanting to use an ink new to me that I saw over on Jennie Harper's STV page ..it's called "Delicata Golden Glitz" by Tsukineko and it's gorgeous...and no heat embossing required! (thanks so much Jennie!!) got mine from Oozaks.com

anyway, after I stamped the image onto the brown, I sponged around edges with white ink from Color Box and added trim from Webster's and matted it on another piece of the brown cardstock. added 3 pearls using Vivid Pearl Pen up in the corner...

Quick card but I really like it!
Ok, back to work on my other 2 entries (-:

so glad to be home....

Sugar Creek Hollow and Layers of Color

hi there
isnt it wonderful having an extra hour - I used mine to stamp ...probably should have slept instead LOL

anyway, this week Sugar Creek Hollow is having their "Trash to Vintage Treasure Challenge - well, I've been waiting...heeeeheeeeheeee....have a small box full of "trash" ready to use on cards - some I know how I want to use...some I dont have a clue (-:

Here is my trash for this challenge - it's the tag from the Thanksgiving garland I bought at Hobby Lobby - saw those flourishes and KNEW it was going to my "trash" stash (-:

it was a large tag so I cut it to fit my card...matted it to light blue card stock...added twill ribbon that I had lightly sponged with Ranger's Aged Mahogany and adhered to black cardstock for the base

can you see the white flower soft - not sure if I should have used that since its "vintage" and they didnt have fake "snow" on stuff....i dont think they did? lightly colored images with Copics and matted onto black cardstock. Took a small piece of light brown cardstock that was also sponged with Aged Mahogany, ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Doodle Parts and added to offset the flourish

but it still looked bare
light bulb moment !!

made three crepe paper flowers using small Stampin Up  punches - gold brad in center - scrunched them up and lightly dusted with...again...Ranger's Aged Mahogany...very lightly...

VOILA! my card (had to cut the tag in half but the twill ribbon covers that)!

the image is from the Layers of Color new Christmas Collection release designed by Nina Brackett and the set is called
"Christmas Blessing"..
you will see more of this collection...i really really really love it!
have decided that this collection is my choice for my cards this year

now I just have to seriously get started on making them (-:

hugs and blessings,
