SplitCoastStampers Double Challenge - and For a Friend #1

Another card I made for SplitCoastStampers challenges. It's fun to have time to do some!

This card is for the Technique Lover's Challenge - to make a card with a sentiment "Down Under" and also for the Clean and Simple challenge with the theme "Love." I figure nothing says "love" better than a new baby! I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin' Up! set called "For a Friend" (The next set in my goal of using all of my SU sets) and colored with Copics. I also added tiny gems to the flower centers. I matted with hot pink. I embossed the top layer with a Darice embossing folder (which is becoming one of my favorites!), cut it in two pieces, mounted on Dimensionals and added to the stamped layer.

Fall Birthday

Today's SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple challenge is to use plaid. Since I was up early enough (PLENTY early!) I thought I would make a card for the challenge.

I stamped the leaf with one of the new stamps that I got on Friday night. It's from Cloud 9 Designs. I stamped it with More Mustard ink from Stampin' Up, then stamped it again without reinking. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession and is stamped with Really Rust. The plaid background paper is from a Recollections matstack. The card base and image panel are ivory and the matting is Really Rust. I mounted the image panel on foam squares.

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge

I made this card for last week's SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple challenge. The challenge was to split an image into three pieces. Always a fun thing to do:)

My image is from an Inkadinkado set. You've seen it before. I love it. I colored with Copics and cut it into thirds and matted with black. The sentiment is from Gina K. That's it!

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge

I made this card for Monday's SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple challenge. The challenge was to CASE this card. Cool card!

I cut the circle frame with two Nestabilities. The flowers were punched with an EK Success punch and I added silver pearls. The sentiment is from a set from Papertrey Ink.

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge - A Sketch

I made this card for yesterday's SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple challenge #153, which was a sketch. I also made it for a color challenge in my stamping group, which is to use rose pink and gray. It was really fun to get to join in a couple challenges - it's been a long time!

The shadow stamps I used are by Hero Arts. The flowers and sentiment are from a set by Gina K called Various Verses. I used Memento inks in London Fog and Angel Pink.

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge

This card is for yesterday's SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge, which was a sketch. The sketch is this card.

I inked up my tag, from the Stampin' Up! set Tags So Much, with markers, stamped, and punched with the SU small tag punch. Then I punched the matting with the SU tag punch and Real Red. I cut a rectangle of white and added the red stripes to it. I mounted that panel on Dimensionals and glued the tag to it. I don't know what set the sentiment is from, but I do know it's Stampin' Up!

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple and Technique Challenges

I made this card for two SplitCoastStampers challenges - the Clean and Simple challenge to use Kraft and primary/bright colors, and the Technique Lover's challenge to use your embossing folder and a solid stamp to do "embossed kissing."  You can find the tutorial for that here.

My flowers (from Stampin' Up!'s A Beautiful Life set) were inked up with Stampin' Up!'s Summer Sun. I inked up my Cuttlebug folder with Real Red to use for "kissing." I cut the flowers out and used Real Red and a punch for the centers. I mounted the flowers on Dimensionals. I made the design on the white layer with my tracing wheel (remember those things???) and my Scor-Pal. The matting is Real Red and the sentiment is a rub-on. The card base is PTI Kraft.

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge

Monday's SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge was to create a "long and thin" card.  This was my entry.

I cut the card base to fit into an envelope I had.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4 by 3 3/4 inches.  The flowers are from Martha Stewart.  I adhered them to white cardstock and matted with Rose Romance cardstock from Stampin' Up!  The sentiment is from SU!'s Sincere Salutation set and is stamped with Rose Romance ink.  That's it!  Another totally CAS card!

Challenge Card - Anniversary

I made this for yesterday's SplitCoastStampers CAS challenge, which is a sketch. I also made it for the CAS-ual Friday challenge, which is to use bling.

My card base is Papertrey Ink Kraft. My matting is shimmery gold. The beautiful patterned paper is by Kanban. (You can get it in the Creating Everlasting Memories eBay store.  Here is link to the Kanban selection.)  The gold strip across the middle is made with a Martha Stewart punch called Double Link. The little medallion was made by cutting the circle (from the lower patterned paper) with a Circle Nestability and the matting with an EK Success punch. I hope pearls count as "bling" because I added small and medium sized pearls along the punched chain. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is embossed with detail gold embossing powder.

You still have a week to enter to try to win the awesome blog candy from the Creating Memories in Time blog.  It's a great prize and there are not a lot of entries yet.  Check it out here.

Another Ornament Christmas Card

I made this card for two challenges - this week's SCS Clean and Simple challenge to use sponging, and the Woodware USA challenge to make a one-layer card.  (You still have until 8:00 tonight (Sunday) to get your entry in.  You can find the challenge here.)

This is another card using my Christmas set from Verve.  I stamped the ornament with Versamagic Perfect Plumeria ink, then used my heat gun to set it. I stamped the ornament topper and the sentiment with Versamark and embossed them with detail silver embossing powder. I embossed around the ornament with a Nestability. Then I masked off the entire embossed area and sponged with Mellow Moss.

Christmas Ornament

Sorry this is late - I forgot to do a pre-post for today!  I made this card for the SCS Clean and Simple Challenge on Monday.  The challenge was to use sponging.

The stamp set I used is from Verve.  I got it last year right after Christmas, and realized I hadn't used it yet and my Christmas cards are almost done!  So, you'll be seeing it on a few cards soon.  I started by inking the little piece of pine bough with Versamagic Spanish Olive ink and coloring the branches with a Close to Cocoa marker. Next I stamped the ornament with Versamagic Aegean Blue. Then I drew the string with a silver gel pen. I tore the bottom edge and sponged all the edges with Spanish Olive. I matted with (I think) Bordering Blue which I embossed with a Cuttlebug Snowflake folder and I mounted that layer on Dimensionals. I scored lines around the edge with my Scor-Pal and sponged the edges of the card base, also. It was a little too plain, so I added some sparkle on the sentiment and snowflakes with a glitter pen. I wish you could see that:)

Double Challenge Card

I made this card for this week's Clean and Simple Challenge on SplitCoastStampers.  The challenge was to use red, brown, vanilla and kraft, and optionally use orange.  It's also for Technique Tuesday's challenge (that ended yesterday) to use flowers.  These stamps really are flowers, but I guess done in the colors I used, they look more like fancy leaves!  Oh well!

All the stamps are from Papertrey Ink.  The floral images are from Spiral Bouquet and the sentiment is from Birthday Basics.  The inks are all Stampin' Up! - Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red and Pumpkin Pie.  The matting is Chocolate Chip and the card base is PTI Kraft.

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge - Sending Sunshine

I made this card for Clean and Simple Challenge #73 - a color challenge to use Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue.  (It was from a previous week.  I'm just slow at getting it on my blog.  Too many other cards to share!)

I don't have Bashful Blue, so I used Bliss Blue instead. I used stamps from Taylored Expressions set Garden Party Blooms. I used my Scor-Pal for the lines on the matting. I added pearls to the blue flower. I stamped the tulips on Pumpkin Pie cardstock with Pumpkin Pie ink. I cut them out and mounted them on Pop Dots.  I also used Diamond Stickles in the centers.

SCS Color Challenge - Celebrate

I made this card for SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge #68 - "Summer" - and for Color Challenge #272 - Bermuda Bay, Real Red and Kraft.

I inked up the flip-flop stamp with a Creamy Caramel ink pad, then colored the flip-flops (on the stamp) with Real Red and Bermuda Bay markers. I matted it with kraft. I attached the Prima flowers with red brads. I thought they matched perfectly - even the design, with the circles, matched the flip-flop on the left. The sentiment (from the dollar bin at Michael's) was also inked up with Creamy Caramel and colored with markers.

Two miscellaneous things:  You still have another week to play along with the Repeat Impressions sketch challenge and have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate.  You can find the sketch and details here.

I will try to keep up with posting on my blog, but I have a busy few weeks coming up.  Memorial weekend - no specific plans other than a Twins game on Saturday - GO TWINS!  The following weekend our daughter and granddaughter will be here for four days.  And the following weekend is our Yahoo! groups "Group Gathering."  Lots of fun things!

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge - Birthday (and Misc.)

Just a very simple birthday card for today.  I made this for the Clean and Simple Challenge #66 on SplitCoastStampers on Monday.  It was a sketch, and you can find the challenge here.

The papers are all from a We R Memory Keepers pack from Archiver's from a couple years ago. The stamps are all from Papertrey sets - Birthday Basics and Around and About Sentiments.  I punched the flower with a Paper Shapers punch.  The circle was cut with a Nestability.

I've been thinking I never did share pictures of our kitchen, once it got (almost!) done.  We still have to paint (I will cover up all those hours and hours of stenciling I did over the cabinets!) and we still need to do the trim around the window.  But, the rest has been done for a while now.  I should have taken a picture of it with the under-the-counter lights ON though, since that was part of what took so long!  There is lighting under all the cabinets, even the one to the right of the stove.  The backsplash is textured wallpaper painted with a metallic paint.  That was the last part of the project.  The cabinets were refaced over 12 years ago and the countertop and sink, etc. were done about a year ago.

CAS63 - and a Bonus Card

I made this card for SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge #63, which was a sketch.  It's also for SCS Technique Lovers Challenge #269, which was to use piercing.

The stamps I used are both from Repeat Impressions.  I stamped the daisy multiple times on a strip of white cardstock.  I used three of them for this card, and then I decided the others ones were evenly spaced well enough to use for another card.  I cut the three for this card with a Circle Nestability.  I colored them with with Stampin' Up! markers and sponged the edges.  I pierced the line of holes, then sanded down the back with a sanding block so that it would lay flat on the Almost Amethyst matting.

Like I said, I had these flowers left over from the previous card.  I used a dotted circle stamp from Papertrey Ink to stamp around each of the daisies.  I matted it with Barely Banana cardstock (SU!) which I embossed with a Cuttlebug border folder.  I also added Stickles on the flower centers of the stamped flowers and the embossed flowers.  The sentiment is from Verve.  (The inside of the card says "a Very Happy Anniversary.)  I also added another layer of Barely Banana matting.

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge - Best Wishes

This card is for SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge #61 - make a card with the only stamping being the sentiment.

The periwinkle paper is from Lasting Impressions. I embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder and sanded it down with a Stampin' Up! sanding block so the white backing showed.  I added Stickles to the "dots" of the dandelion. (I think it's a dandelion!) The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations by SU! and is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  I adhered it to the white card base.

Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge

I made this card for SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge #60, which is a sketch. It's also for the Curtain Call Color Challenge (kraft, white, black and Pretty in Pink) which you can find here.

I first stamped the pink squares with a stamp from Stampin' Up!'s Little Shapes - using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up. I added the hippos from a clear set I got at Michael's on Sunday. I colored the flowers, ears and teeth with gel pens. The bottom layer is Papertrey Ink's Kraft and is punched with an SU! border punch and scored with my Scor-Pal. The hippo layer is matted with Pretty in Pink. The tag sentiment is from the same clear set and is cut out with a tag die from Spellbinders. The ribbon is from PTI. I added a little darker pink flower with a black brad to match the flower on the hippo.

Speedy Recovery

I made this card for my friend, Diane, who had surgery on her thumb yesterday.  I used the color combination in the SplitCoastStampers CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge for this week - green and brown.

The branch (flowers?) is from an Inkadinkado set.  I stamped it with Papertrey Ink's Fresh Leaf ink on patterned paper from Stampin' Up!  I highlighted using a white gel pen.  I have never done that before, but I like the effect.  I mounted it on brown cardstock.  The sentiments are from Verve's Wishing You set, stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink.

SCS Clean and Simple Challenge - Daisies

This card is for Clean and Simple Challenge #52 on SplitCoastStampers, which is a sketch.

I had an idea of what to do, and I changed most of it along the way:)  I did make a couple super quick cards with the pieces I didn't use, but I haven't taken pictures of them yet.  Maybe I'll share them with you another day.  I did the embossing with a Cuttlebug border folder. I stamped the flower centers with Stampin' Up!'s So Saffron ink and a stamp from Papertrey Ink's Paper Tray set. I sponged a little bit of Pallette New Leaf ink from PTI on the edge. The ribbon is from JoAnn's. The sentiment is stamped with New Leaf and the stamp is from PTI's set called Wishing You. The daisies are from Martha Stewart. I got them at a Big Lots when we were on vacation in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last summer. Sure wish I had picked up several more packages!
