Happy Valentine's Day!

Two more valentines. I used a Papertrey Ink die to cut out the three squares on a thin piece of paper, then used that as a stencil to add the very pale pink. I used three Fiskars heart stamps to fill the squares. The sentiment was from the same set. I've had this set for many, many years and this may be the first time I've ever used it!

Just like the first one, except with pink hearts and another matting layer. I had stamped this one first, but the ink had not stamped well - it had pooled on the stamps and not stamped well at all, even though I tried stamping it about three times, using my MISTI, of course. I just set it aside to use the back of it for something else. Well, lo and behold - when I came back to it a few days later, it looked great! I know that Gina always talks about her inks having a "smoothing agent" and I guess it works! So, I added the sentiment (this time over the light pink squares) and added the layering.

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone!!

An "Extra" Valentine

And one more valentine - this one for no one in particular. The patterned papers are from a quite old matstack from Recollections. The bug and sentiment stamps are from a Fiskars set. I die-cut the panels using my new Waffle Flower rectangle dies. I really do love them! The image and sentiment die-cut shapes are mounted on foam squares. I added some shimmer with Wink of Stella to the bug's wings and also to the little die-cut hearts on the sentiment panel.

June Calendar Page

Goodness - I almost forgot to post my calendar page today! I remembered just in time. Time is flying by way too fast.

The butterfly and mushroom stamps are from a Fiskars set. The sentiment is from a Studio G dollar set from years ago from JoAnn's. I colored the image with Copic markers and added the border with a Copic marker, also.

Garden Collage - #1 and #2

Back to my Stampin' Up! cards. Making great progress on my mission to use them all. I'm almost done with the first sixty and ready to move on to the next shelf!

Today I'm using the three stamps from the set called "Garden Collage." For this first one, I used the collage stamp with the flower and butterfly. I stamped with Versafine black ink and embossed with detail black embossing powder. I added some color with SU chalks. I matted with black and mounted on Dimensionals. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

This second card is done entirely with Going Gray and white. I stamped the image and the sentiment and scored a line between them. I found this scrap of gray with the border already cut, so I trimmed it down to mat my panel. I had done the cutting with a rotary trimmer by Fiskars.

Another Valentine

Before I got everything put away from making valentines for our grandchildren, I decided to put together a couple pieces that were on my stamping table and make a valentine for my dad. Brings back memories, as last Valentine's Day we were all in the hospital with my mom. The last card I made for her was a valentine:(

Anyway, this is for my dad. The punched heart was done with a Martha Stewart punch. On a piece of scrap cardstock, I stamped the hearts (from the same stamp set as the cards I made for our grandsons. Turns out the set is from Fiskars, and NOT Recollections like I've been saying!) and colored them. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. I mounted the panel on foam squares, raised above the stamped image. Edited to add: I'm entering this in the Repeat Impressions challenge to use red, pink and white. It's hard to tell, but the little circles in with the hearts have been colored pink, and the hearts are red.

Update on my dad: His cheek is healing. In fact, I've heard it looks pretty good! His neck is coming along slower. The sores in his mouth are still painful and he can't eat very well, but is doing a great job of forcing himself to eat. Hopefully it will be uphill from here. And hopefully the cancer will be gone forever!

Thinking of You

A simple "thinking of you" card for today.

The stamps are from a Fiskars set. I colored the stamps themselves with Tombow markers, then colored in the larger flowers with a marker after stamping. The butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch out of sparkly cardstock. I added the antennae with markers and also pearls to the bodies. I added pearls to the larger flower centers too.

SplitCoastStampers Free4All Challenge - Anniversary

I made this card for last week's SplitCoastStampers Free4All challenge. The challenge was to make a 3.5 x 6 inch card.

That was the perfect size to use a neglected Cuttlebug folder from the Cindy Loo set. All the embossing on the card was done with the same folder with one pass through my BIGkick. The flower and leaves are from the same Fiskars set. The flower was cut out and mounted on Pop Dots and the leaves are stamped directly on the card front layer. (The entire front is one piece layered on to the card base so that the embossing doesn't show on the inside of the card.) The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

SplitCoastStampers Ways To Use It Challenge

This was for last Thursday's Ways to Use It challenge on SplitCoastStampers - to use a bird on your card.

Both stamps I used are from a set by Fiskars. I had used the background before, but not the peacock. I used a small purple ink pad that must have come with some stamps some time. I matted with Stampin' Up! purple - I think Lovely Lilac. I cut the peacock and matting with Nestabilities and mounted on Pop Dots.

Happy Valentine's Day ... and Two Grandkids' Valentines

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! I got two grandkids' valentines done and in the mail. The third one I have to make today. This first one is for our granddaughter. I paper-pieced the bunny (from Sandylion) with Die Cuts With a View paper. I added a punched border (with a Martha Stewart punch) and put a strip of white cardstock under it so it would show up better. The pink heart is cut with a Lifestyle Crafts die and the tiny hearts are done with the same MS border punch as the pink, but I cut some purple ones, too. The sentiment is from a Fiskars set. I mounted the heart on Dimensionals. I'm linking this to this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge, which is to use paper-piecing.

This second one is for our older grandson, who is three. The stamps are all from a Fiskars set. I paper-pieced the turtle with sparkly cardstock and colored the hearts with a Sharpie marker. I added Diamond Glaze to the hearts above his head. I stamped and colored the background hearts.
