Wonderful Day

A scrap of patterned paper was the basis of this card. I added thin strips of green on the top and bottom of it. I found the Swiss Dots embossed pieces in my card parts book and, cut in two, they fit perfectly on the top and bottom of the card. Added the sentiment and called it done. :-)

Simple Birthday - Times Four

I thought it was about time that I used some of my little Cuttlebug embossing folders. So, here are four cards using one of the sets that I have. For each one, I went over the raised images with a sparkle pen. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The image panels are all popped up with foam squares.

On this last one, I got a drop of something on it, so I covered that little drip with some sparkle and added other dots as well.

Hello There

After a good streak in my stamping room, I have been absent for awhile again. I finally got a chance to make another card, and here it is. I ordered a kit from SCT (Scrapbook and Cards Today) quite a while ago. It was a June kit, so it just arrived last week. I didn't know what was coming and I was slightly disappointed, but I guess it was okay for the cost. Included in the kit was the die that cut this sentiment. It is from the SCT Signature Collection.I tested it out, and of course I had to use the test piece! I decided to color the leaves. I glued it to a scrap that was on my table from my covering of a box. It was a nice size for the sentiment. I matted that panel with white and mounted it on foam squares. I embossed a full-sized card panel with a Cuttlebug folder for the background and glued it to a card base.

More Sympathy

Three more sympathy cards for me and my church and maybe for the thrift store Cheryl volunteers at and makes cards for. The stamps are from an old Stampin' Up! set. i embossed the side panel with an old Cuttlebug folder. I also added some Liquid Pearls to the flower centers on this first one, which I made two of. For the stamping of the images, I used markers directly on the rubber stamp.

Fancy-Fold Birthday

My friends, Cheryl and Vicki, both had a card using this layout on their blogs on the same day! I didn't look at the videos that they linked, but instead just looked at the pictures and winged it. The sentiment is from Gina K. I used part of a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the embossing on the image panel. The background is a shimmery, metallic-y cardstock.

Just For You

While browsing through my stamps, I came across this set, so I made this card. Then, while writing this post, I had to look through my stamps again to see who the set was from. I found I have at least three sets with mason jars and covers! Oops. This one is from Recollections. The set includes the dies. I used a die to cut the cover. It's popped up with foam squares. I colored with very light Copic markers. I embossed the white layer with an old Cuttlebug folder and trimmed it down.

More card parts - these are from Stampin' Up! I added them to card bases that were in my card parts. The flowers are mounted on foam squares.

Cards for Baby

This teddy bear was another stamp that I kept from the stamps that were given to me. I did finally get the rest all given away. I used three different sets of colors for them. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The panels are matted and mounted on foam squares. These first two use an Anna Griffen/Cuttlebug folder and the last one uses a Paper Studio folder.

Christmas Cards for our Kids

Oops - I was mistaken! I have one more Christmas card!! This is the one I made for our daughter and son and their spouses. (I made two of them.) I wanted something a little more special. The finished card is 5 x 7 inches. The penguins and holly stamps are from Gina K. They are stamped, cut out with dies, colored with Copic markers and popped up on foam squares. I added some embossing across the middle with a Cuttlebug border folder and then added score lines with my Scor-Pal on each side of the embossing. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and the gingham papers are from Gina K.

Happy Anniversary to our Son and Daughter-in-Law

Here is the card I made for our son and daughter-in-law for their 16th anniversary. The background has been done for a long time and was in my parts. It had been done with my Letterpress. I keep thinking I should use it again, but every time I get it out to use it, I remember why I don't like it! LOL! I matted it, added an embossed strip across the bottom, and added a layered, die-cut sentiment. This card is 5 1/2 inches square.

More Stickers

Three more stickers used up - one per card. For this first card, I used an embossing folder for the background and added a white panel inside of the square. I added the sticker to this white panel. I stamped the "thanks' and called it done.

For the embossing around this sticker, I used a die. Added the sentiment and again called it done.

I guess this could be a valentine. I found a piece of purple cardstock to place the sticker on and wondered what else I should do with it. I remembered some small embossing folders that I had, so I used one of them, then sanded it down a bit. I matted this panel with black.

Simple Thinking of You

Just a very simple "thinking of you" card for today. I made two of these. I had a piece of this patterned paper in 12 x 12. I cut it down to place around a can for storage in my stamping room, and had a leftover (approximately 2 1/2 x 12) piece. Hence these cards. I added a strip of the green cardstock, which I embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, and also the sentiment. I

Butterfly Card Parts

I pulled out these pre-assembled butterflies a while ago and turned them into cards. I also added a few more "parts." I thought I only had two of them, but when I was gluing one of them one, I realized it was a stack of two! So, I got three cards instead of two. For this first one, I also used a pre-made background, done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and white ink on turquoise cardstock. The sentiment was also already made and sitting on my table.
I added strips of patterned paper and thin black strips on the edges of this one.
And one more - in purple. For this one, I added metallic strips along the patterned paper.

Super Simple Thank You

I made this card after making my little note card sets. I had experimented a little bit with my small embossing folders, but ended up not using them. I did, however, use one of my test pieces on this super-simple card. I used the small embossing folder for the sentiment, then I used my Scor-Pal to emboss the lines around the edges for a little added interest. I matted that piece with black. I used some patterned paper for the background and matted that with black, also.

Daisies Edgeabilities in Blue

And the last of my Edgeabilities cards, at least for quite a while. For this card, I just used the die to cut off the bottom of the front of the card. I colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I added blue panels to the top of the front and to the bottom of the inside of the card. I embossed the front blue panel with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white cardstock and I added scored lines with my ScorPal.

Calla Lily in (Mostly) White

Well, here is the Calla Lily Edgeabilities card that I promised. I decided to try one without any coloring. I think it works okay, but the colored ones are probably a better choice. The sentiment is from Avery Elle and I embossed the yellow piece with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.

Sixteen More Christmas Cards

Here are fifteen more Christmas cards for this year. I made one more, but it's identical to one of these. Others are very similar, but at least I think these are all different. The layout of them all is exactly the same - stamp the image, cut it out with a circle die, mat it with another die-cut circle piece, and pop it up on an embossed white background. The stamps are all (except the last card) from a set that I got from Gina K, but it has stamps from twelve different companies. The group is called The Stamping Village.

This last card does not use a stamp from The Stamping Village set. I stamped the snowflake in blue and added the sentiment in black.

"Retro" Birthday

I was doing a little bit of organizing of my "card parts" last week (imagine that - more organizing! It's almost as much fun as creating) and this flower got left out on my table. I do believe the dies are from My Favorite Things. For some reason, I decided to pull out my oldest items and use them to make this card. The stamps (the stem and the two words) are from the very first Papertrey Ink set called "Paper Tray." The pink embossed strip is done with my very first border embossing folder set, and the bottom portion of the main panel was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, which was one of my first, if not THE first of MANY folders that I purchased. The flower is mounted on foam squares.

We have an Alexa Show and it is connected to photos on our computer. Lately, she has been showing photos of really old cards that I have made, and I'm amazed at how much I really like most of them! Fun. I just may have to go back and remake some of them.

Wishing You a Speedy Recovery

A friend recently had rotator cuff surgery. This is the card I made for him. The tree is from an old Stampin Up! set. I inked it up in green, then used a brown marker to color the trunk and and ground, and a darker green marker to "thump" some extra color on the tree. That panel is matted with green and then mounted on foam squares. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the top part of the bottom layer. I added a strip of the green cardstock between the embossed area and the patterned paper. The sentiment is from Verve. The inside says, "a speedy recovery."

I sure haven't been doing much posting to my blog, for sure - haven't made any new cards. But, my stamping room keeps getting a little bit more organized. And our Christmas shopping is almost done. (We don't have a lot of people to buy for.) And the Christmas cards (80) are all ready to go out except for the Christmas letter. So, I'm feeling pretty good about those things! Maybe we can get decorated for Christmas this week and then sit back, relax and enjoy the holiday season!

Simple Flowers

Here are a couple cards I made with some newer-to-me Gina K stamps. The flowers and the sentiments are from the same set. On this first one, I embossed the panel after stamping. The folder is from Cuttlebug. I colored the flower centers with a marker.
I mounted this image panel on foam squares. The patterned paper is from Gina K.
