As Above, So Below

Released Year: 2014
Directed by John Erick Dowdle

Casted by:
Perdita Weeks as Scarlett Marlowe
Ben Feldman as George
Edwin Hodge as Benji
François Civil as Papillon "Pap"
Marion Lambert as Souxie
Ali Marhyar as Zed
Cosme Castro as La Taupe
 Story:
Scarlett Marlowe, a young alchemy scholar, continues her dead father's work searching for the philosopher's stone, a legendary alchemical substance said to be capable of turning base metals such as lead into gold or silver and grant eternal life, discovered by Nicolas Flamel. After finding the Rose Key in a cave in Iran, she travels to Paris. She then enlists the help of George, her former lover whom she abandoned in Turkey while in pursuit of the stone. Along with Benji the cameraman, they translate Flamel's headstone, which contains a riddle that leads them to a point underneath the streets of Paris. She then enlists the help of a guide called Papillon, his girlfriend Souxie, and friend Zed to search the Catacombs beneath Paris, France. George explicitly refuses to go, but is driven into the caves with the group when they are spotted by a policeman. After crawling through a narrow tunnel which collapses, they find themselves before a door that Papillion is reluctant to breach, as the only people who have gone through, including Pap's friend the Mole, have never been seen again.

Early on in the venture, they encounter some female Cultists who are singing and have possessed appearances. After proceeding deeper into the catacombs, they encounter the Mole, who agrees to guide them out, and informs them that the way out is down. They eventually find a tomb with a preserved Templar Knight, a mound of treasure, and the Flamel Stone. Removing the stone, Scarlett realizes too late that the treasure is a trap, and the room collapses. The Mole is lost under the rubble and is abandoned by the group.

With the Flamel Stone, Scarlett heals the group's injuries. They find a drawing of a door on the ceiling along with a Gnostic Star of David, symbolizing "As above, so below," meaning there is a door hidden in the floor. Going through the opening, they find a tunnel marked with the phrase "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here" in Greek, identical to the entrance to Hell.

Passing through, they find a dark reflection of the room they just left, including the Mole, who attacks Souxie by smashing her head into the rock floor, killing her. They realize they must continue and go deeper. Along the way, Benji the cameraman is pushed to his death down a hole by the lead female cultist demon lookalike, who caught his eye in Paris as well as while singing in the upper levels of the catacombs. Later they encounter a burning car and occupant (who is the same young man who told Scarlett to find Papillon as a guide), an incident from Pap's past who pulls in Papillon and then sinks into the floor. They attempt to pull Pap out of the ground, but to no avail. As they continue, they see apparitions of terrifying spirits and demons. Statues in the wall come to life and one attacks George, biting open his throat. After trying to drag him further, George murmurs "Vitriol," another riddle from earlier, and Scarlett realizes the Flamel stone itself is yet another trap, and that only by returning it will she find the real stone. She punches the dwelling statues she encounters on the way in a fit of desperation and anger, she then gets pulled down into a river of blood but she escapes their grasp just in time. Zed sees what appears to be the Grim Reaper and Demons and drags a nearly dead George to a safe spot away.

She races back to the crypt returns the stone and looks into a polished mirror on the wall where the stone was hidden, realizing that her quest for the stone and belief in the philosophy "As above, so below," (explained as simply willing acts of magic to happen makes it so) has granted her the magical abilities of the stone. She returns to George, kissing him as she holds his wounds, healing them. She then explains that where they are is about confronting their regrets, such as George's brother who drowned after he got lost looking for help and her father who committed suicide, as he had called her that night but she refused to pick up the phone. She says they must accept their guilt in order to absolve themselves and escape. Zed confesses he has a son who he never took responsibility for and denied as his own, explaining the visions of a little boy running around that have plagued him during their journey. With the hooded demons closing in, the three accept what they have done before a hole they have discovered. Together they jump down, even though they know there is no logical way for them to survive. As they land at the bottom, they look up, see the hole they came down is no longer there. They find a manhole, pushing it down, they pull themselves out onto the streets of Paris and to safety.

Grave Encounters

 Released Year: 2011
Directed by The Vicious Brothers

Casted by:
Sean Rogerson as Lance Preston
Ashleigh Gryzko as Sasha Parker
Merwin Mondesir as T. C. Gibson
Mackenzie Gray as Houston Grey
Juan Riedinger as Matt White
 Story:
The film begins with Jerry Hartfield the producer of Grave Encounters, a famous ghost investigation television series. Jerry explains the premise of Grave Encounters and introduces the host, Lance Preston. Preston explains that he started the TV series because he lived in a haunted house as a child and now he travels around the world looking for paranormal evidence. Hartfield explains that Grave Encounters was cancelled after the fifth episode, when the footage for episode six mysteriously went missing. The footage was finally recovered in 2010 and brought to Hartfield.

The film stars Lance Preston, Sasha Parker, an occult specialist, Matt White, cameraman T.C Gibson and Houston Grey. They were investigating the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital. For over 68 years, until the hospital was closed in 1963, an estimated 80,000 patients were treated. Since its closure, many instances of paranormal activity had been reported there.

The hospital's caretaker let the film makers into the locked building, through doors above which are inscribed 'Death Awaits'. The caretaker gives them a tour of the hospital, including an empty bathroom where a female patient committed suicide in a bathtub, a window on the top floor that opens by itself, a hallway said to be haunted by a bald man in a lab coat, and a room with writing on the walls.

Later that night, the Grave Encounters crew set up their equipment and began an overnight surveillance while locked inside hospital. Splitting up to investigate, Lance's group unsuccessfully tries to contact the bathroom suicide girl. At 2:10 a.m, the team reconvenes in the lobby. All their equipment shows nothing unusual, except for a fourth floor camera, which shows the window opening, but none of the crew notices it. Later, cameraman T.C Gibson continued to film the hospital's corridors. Gibson is interrupted by his cell phone and while talking, misses a wheelchair moving by itself down the corridor. He feels a cold spot and enters a room, but is surprised when the door slams shut. Gibson assumes this was a prank, but after looking for someone from his team, he realizes he's alone. Gibson shows the footage to the rest of the team and they attempt to communicate with whatever made the door shut. They are unsuccessful, but Preston hears a loud bang coming from elsewhere. The team investigated the noise, entering into a room where the hospital trolley wheels spin by themselves. They also see a bed turned over in the corner of the room. They then heard loud footsteps from the floor above. Sasha, decides to perform an EVP session upstairs. An unexplained noise is heard and some of Sasha’s hair is lifted by an unseen hand. Preston discovers apparitions and orbs in the pictures he took during this occurrence.

At 4:51 a.m, Lance tells Matt to gather all of the remaining cameras set around the hospital. White collects the night vision cameras, but when he reaches the fourth floor, he finds the window open. Sensing that this is important, White tries to contact Lance to investigate. He then hears a loud bang and goes to investigate.
At 5:32 a.m Lance notices that Matt is still gone, but is unsuccessful in reaching him on the radio. Sasha thinks White is hurt somewhere in the darkness and she insists on looking for him. Lance and Gibson agreed, leaving Houston alone in the lobby. Lance, Sasha and Gibson find White's equipment sprawled out on the fourth floor. The team decides to split up to find White as quickly as possible. While searching, Gibson climbs the stairs, but is startled by a loud noise and is pushed from behind. He is injured in the fall down the stairs and calls to the rest of the team, who take him to the lobby.

At 6:19 a.m, Gibson unsuccessfully tries to open the hospital's doors. He tries to call the groundskeeper but finds there is no cellphone reception. Suddenly, the doors open, but not to the outside. Instead, they lead to another hospital corridor. They find a new exit, but that, too, leads to another corridor. Confused and scared, Lance asks Sasha what time it is. Sasha finds that it is 8:34 a.m. Although the sun was to rise at 7:45 a.m, it was still dark outside. After finding no escape from the hospital, the team heads back to the lobby to try and sleep.

A loud crash wakes the team hours later. Lance tells everyone it is 8:00 pm, they had slept for seven hours. Lance opens the cooler to find all of the food had rotted and was infested with maggots, after only a few hours. Gibson has the idea of escaping using the fire escape. As the team walks the corridors they hear more loud bangs. Gibson locates the fire escape, but finds only a concrete wall behind the door. Suddenly, they hear screaming that could be the missing White. The team follows the screams to a room where a cot is thrown across the room and a bed is suspended in midair. Terrified, they hide in a different room. Lance explains to the camera that the corridors keep changing.

After falling asleep again, the team wakes up to find that the word 'HELLO' scratched into Sasha's back. Lance then hears White on the radio, but it is cut off. The team realizes that White is alive somewhere in the hospital, and so they search for him once more. They see a distant shadow running down the corridor and thinking it is White, they follow it to another room. The figure is not White, but a girl standing and facing the corner. Lance attempts to talk to her, but she turns around and reveals a terrifying, screaming face. The team runs away, but Houston is left behind when the flashlight dies. He is shown on one of the corridor cameras wandering around trying to find the others. Suddenly, he is hoisted into the air, semi-strangled and then dropped to the floor. When he tries to get up, a strange explosion sends his body flying violently down the corridor, killing him on impact.

Gibson, Sasha and Lance hide in another room and realize that they now have patient I.D. wristbands. They decide to look for both White and Grey. Sasha is grabbed by a ghostly hand which breaks through the window panel in a door behind her and soon feels weak. The team finds White in a room, wearing a hospital gown. White, who appears mentally unstable at this point, claims to know a way out of the hospital. To leave, the team just has to get better. Sasha falls asleep and is again attacked by arms coming out of the walls. They flee and hide in the bathroom. Lance hears water dripping and sees the bathtub is now filled with blood. Matt is curiously looking over the bathtub. Gibson tries to pull Matt away, but is grabbed into the bathtub by a female apparition. Sasha and Lance immediately flip the tub over, but Gibson is gone.

Sasha, White and Lance continue looking for an exit. They find an out-of-order elevator, but cannot open the door. Lance looks for something to pry open the door. He looks in the room with writing on the walls and grabs a metal rod from a bed, but notices a puddle of blood with a human tongue in it. When he looks up, a bald patient stares at him and screams. Lance escapes from the demon and manages to pry open the elevator. The patient then attacks Lance, but Sasha helps keep the demon away. White leans forward to look down the elevator shaft and carries on leaning until he falls, committing suicide. The demon disappears, so Sasha and Lance climb down a ladder to the bottom of the shaft and find that White is dead. Lance then pries open a door to a service tunnel. Later in the tunnel, Sasha becomes violently sick and starts throwing up blood. Noticing that she could not keep up, Lance decides they should stop and rest.

A heavy mist covers them as they sleep in the tunnel. When the mist clears, Sasha is gone. Lance is left alone in the dark. His mental health spirals out of control and he stops filming. Lance turns the camera back on after finding a door to an operating room. This was the secret operating room of Dr. Arthur Friedkin, who performed unethical experiments on Collingwood's patients. Lance finds pictures of patients being experimented on, along with pictures of the Grave Encounters team also being experimented on. Lance also finds evidence of satanic rituals and black magic which Friedkin performed. Lance then sees Friedkin and several nurses performing a lobotomy on one of the team members. Rushing forward, Lance trips on a skull and as he looks up, Friedkin is looking down on him. The camera then falls and Lance's screams before the camera cuts out. Again, the camera is turned back on, showing Lance is still alive, although his eye is bleeding from a lobotomy. Lance's final words were ‘He said I’m all better now. I can finally go home. For Grave Encounters, Lance Preston. Signing off.’ The camera then cuts out.

Cannibal Holocaust

 Released Year: 1980
Directed by Ruggero Deodato

Casted by:
Robert Kerman as Harold Monroe
Gabriel Yorke as Alan Yates
Francesca Ciardi as Faye Daniels
Perry Pirkanen as Jack Anders
Luca Giorgio Barbareschi as Mark Tomaso
 Story:
The film opens with a television documentary about a missing United States film crew, who disappeared on an expedition to the Amazon Basin to make a documentary about indigenous cannibal tribes. The team was Alan Yates, the director; Faye Daniels, his girlfriend and script girl; and two cameramen, Jack Anders and Mark Tomaso. Harold Monroe, a New York University anthropologist, has agreed to lead a rescue team and flies to the Amazon to meet his guides, Chaco and his assistant Miguel. The group has a hostage captured by the military from a local tribe called the Yacumo, and they use him to help negotiate with the natives. The team arranges his release in exchange for being taken to the Yacumo village. There the team initially meets hostility and learns that the film group had caused great unrest among the people.

The next day, Monroe and his guides head deeper into the rainforest to locate two warring tribes, the Ya̧nomamö and the Shamatari. Following a group of Shamatari warriors to a riverbank, they intervene and save a smaller group of Ya̧nomamö from death in a conflict between the groups. The Ya̧nomamö invite Monroe and his team back to their village, where they are treated with suspicion. To gain the villagers' trust, Monroe bathes naked in a river. A group of Ya̧nomamö women emerge to take him to a shrine, which he learns holds the bones of the missing American filmmakers. Angry, Monroe confronts the Ya̧nomamö, during which time he plays a tape recorder for them. Intrigued, the natives agree to trade it for the first team’s surviving reels of film during a cannibalistic ceremony, in which Monroe has to take part.

Back in New York, executives of the Pan American Broadcast Company invite Monroe to host a broadcast of a documentary to be made from the recovered film. Monroe wants to see the raw footage first. The executives introduce him to Yates' work by showing an excerpt from his previous documentary, The Last Road to Hell. One of the executives tells Monroe that Yates staged the scene to get more exciting footage. Monroe reviews the footage, which first follows the group’s trek through the jungle. They promptly spot a large turtle which they butcher and eat. Their guide, Felipe, is then bitten by a venomous snake. The group amputates Felipe's leg with a machete in an attempt to save his life, but he quickly dies and is left behind. The remaining four succeed in locating the Yacumo. Jack shoots one in the leg so they can easily follow him to the village. The second reel starts with the group's arrival at the Yacumo village. They force the entire tribe into a hut and burn it down in order to stage a scene for the film. Monroe expresses concerns over the staged scenes and poor treatment of the natives, but his worries are ignored.

Monroe expresses his disgust to station executives about their decision to air the documentary. To convince them of his view, he shows the remaining, unedited footage, which only he has seen. The final two reels begin with the team locating a young Ya̧nomamö girl, whom the men gang-rape as Faye tries to stop them. Later, the team films the girl impaled on a wooden pole, where they claim the natives killed her. After they move on, the Ya̧nomamö attack the team in revenge for the girl's rape and death. Jack is hit by a spear, and Alan shoots him so the team can film how the natives mutilate his corpse. As the three try to escape the scene, Faye is captured. Alan insists they try to rescue her. Mark continues to film as she is raped and beheaded. The Ya̧nomamö immediately locate the last two as the footage ends with Alan's bloody face. Disturbed by what they have just seen, the executives order the footage destroyed, and Monroe leaves the station and declares: "I wonder who the real cannibals are?"

L² Comment:
A classic cannibal movie which shocked the whole world in the 80's. The movie is very good, it shows how humanity did no matter they are in civilization or not. Of course the flesh and the blood at those time looks fake to us now, but come on, at that period it is consider good... The rest of the cannibal are just so so, but this is the best of them all~

Silent House

 Released Year: 2011
Directed by Chris Kentis & Laura Lau

Casted by:
Elizabeth Olsen as Sarah
Adam Trese as John
Eric Sheffer Stevens as Peter
Julia Taylor Ross as Sophia
 Story:
A young woman named Sarah is staying at a house in the countryside with her father and her uncle. They are fixing it up in order to sell it. Due to petty fighting between Sarah's uncle and her father, her uncle decides to take a break from fixing up the house, driving into town. While her father works upstairs, there is a knock on the door and Sarah answers it, meeting a young woman who claims to be one of Sarah's childhood friends, though Sarah does not remember her. The two plan to meet again later.

Soon after, Sarah hears strange noises upstairs and immediately notifies her father. He is not worried, but goes to check, finding nothing. Sarah calms down, but soon hears the sound of her father falling down the stairs. Panicked, Sarah searches for him and finds him unconscious, with a head wound. She tries to leave the house but all exits are locked or boarded up. She then discovers that her father's body has disappeared. She runs to the basement and finds a bed and other human necessities, evidence that someone else has been living there. She sees a figure shining a light in the basement to find her but she escapes out the back door.

Outside, she meets her uncle, who has returned, and sees a young girl on the side of the road who disappears before her eyes. They decide to go back to the house armed with a gun to rescue her father. Inside, the power is cut; the only source of light available is a polaroid camera's flash. Through a series of incoherent camera flashes, Sarah sees someone else in the house. The power returns to reveal that her uncle is missing. She is hiding under a table surrounded by two men taking pictures of a unseen girl on the top of the table, presumably pedophilic in nature. Sarah sees her uncle's body being dragged by one of the men into the living room. She attempts unsuccessfully to shoot one of the men with her uncle's gun. In the living room, she finds her now conscious father wrapped in a body bag, sitting up.

Sarah begins to exhibit signs of extreme paranoia, multiple personalities, and insanity. She has hallucinations of reality and alternate realities that depict traumatic childhood events induced by her father and uncle. Her father becomes the antagonist at this point. He convinces Sarah to untie him, at which point he begins to whip her with his belt. At the same time, her uncle regains consciousness and he tries to stop her father, who mocks his brother's pleas. As his back is turned, Sarah kills him with a sledgehammer. Questioned by Sarah about why he never tried to dissuade her father from his pedophilic behavior, the uncle desperately states he made a mistake; he wishes he had done so. Sarah leaves him and walks outside silently and the film fades to black.

It is assumed that Sarah imagined most of the terrors she witnesses: she was hallucinating due to her traumatic childhood and the abuse she suffered at the hands of her father, memories of which were triggered upon returning to the house. The memories sent her into a psychotic episode where she attacked both her father and uncle.

L² Comment:
I love the Olsen's twins, Elizabeth Olsen is the younger sister of them. But i never imagine that she got such big juicy tits, its a waste she did not exposed her beautiful breast. Well, her acting is not bad as well, but the storyline is not that attracting. Even though this is based on a real story, but i already predicted how the story is gonna be...

Walking With Dinosaurs

Released Year: 1999
Directed by BBC Television Program

Narrated by:
Kenneth Branagh
Documentary Story:
Episode 1: "New Blood"

220 million years ago − Late Triassic − Arizona, New Mexico
The episode followed a female Coelophysis as she tried to survive in the dry season. The Coelophysis was shown hunting a herd of Placerias (mammal-like reptile), looking for weak members to prey upon. Early pterosaurs (specifically Peteinosaurus) were featured, depicted cooling themselves in what little water was present during the drought. A female rauisuchian (Postosuchus, one of the largest carnivores alive in the Triassic) was shown following the Placerias herd, and kills one of the members who had earlier been bitten by her and weakened by blood loss. Still searching for food, the Coelophysis are shown discovering a burrow of the small mammal-like cynodont. Eventually, one young cynodont strays too close and is eaten and the father attempts to protect the youngster, but to no avail. At night, the pair of cynodonts are shown eating their remaining young, then moving away. The female Postosuchus is later shown to have been wounded by Placerias's tusks (the wound is on her left thigh), and is beaten out of her territory by a rival male Postosuchus. Wounded, sick and without a territory, the female dies and is eaten by a pack of Coelophysis. As the dry season continues however, food becomes scarce and the Coelophysis start killing and cannibalizing each other. Finally, the wet season comes again, and the majority of the Coelophysis have survived, along with the cynodont pair, who have a new clutch of eggs. The episode ends with the arrival of a herd of the prosauropod Plateosaurus, foreshadowing the future dominance of giant sauropods after the Triassic-Jurassic extinction event.

Episode 2: "Time of the Titans"

152 million years ago - Late Jurassic - Colorado
This episode followed the life of a young female herbivorous Diplodocus. After hatching at the forest edge, she and her siblings retreat to the safety of the denser trees. As they grow, they face many dangers, including predation by Ornitholestes and Allosaurus, and a Stegosaurus, which kills one by accident while swinging its tail. Close to adulthood, the group of young Diplodocus are nearly all killed by a huge forest fire and fire storm that night, leaving three, then two survivors including the female. They are driven out onto the open plains, where they find a herd. The protagonist female mates, but not long afterwards is attacked by a bull Allosaurus. She is saved when another Diplodocus strikes the allosaur with its tail. In the end, her species will only get bigger.

Episode 3: "Cruel Sea"

149 million years ago - Late Jurassic - Oxfordshire
The ichthyosaur Ophthalmosaurus breeding ceremony is the main event of the episode, but sharks and other predators, including the pliosaur Liopleurodon, are on the hunt. The opening portrays a Liopleurodon snatching a Eustreptospondylus (dinosaur) from the land, but there is no evidence of this ever occurring (according to the producers, they were influenced by similar attacks by killer whales on land creatures, such as sea lions). A pod of Ophthalmosaurus arrive from the open ocean to give birth. Many of the babies slip out successfully. But when one mother has trouble giving birth, a pair of Hybodus sharks go after her, but are frightened off by a male Liopleurodon, which eats the front half of the Ophthalmosaurus, leaving the tail to sink down. Meanwhile a Eustreptospondylus swims to an island. It discovers a turtle carcass and must fight another Eustreptospondylus for it, though the fight really consists of them roaring at each other. Later during the night, a group of horseshoe crabs gather at the shore to lay their eggs, which attracts a flock of Rhamphorhynchus (pterosaur) in the morning. However two or three are caught and eaten by a Eustreptospondylus in the morning. While the Ophthalmosaurus juveniles are growing up, they are still hunted by Hybodus, which in turn, are prey for the Liopleurodon. While the male Liopleurodon is hunting for prey, he is encountered by a female Liopleurodon, and after biting one of her flippers, she retires to escape. In the end of the episode, a typhoon kills many animals, including a Rhamphorhynchus, and washes the Liopleurodon ashore. He is then suffocated by his own weight and is eaten by a pair of Eustreptospondylus. The episode, however, ends on a more positive note, as it shows that the juvenile Ophthalmosaurus have survived the storm, and are now off to live and breed in the open sea.

Episode 4: "Giant of the Skies"

127 million years ago - Early Cretaceous - Brazil, North America, England, Spain
The story begins with a male Ornithocheirus (pterosaur) dead on a beach. It then goes back six months to Brazil, where the Ornithocheirus flies off for Cantabria among a colony of Tapejara (pterosaur). He flies past a migrating column of Iguanodon and a Polacanthus (all herbivorous dinosaurs). He reaches the southern tip of North America, where he is forced to shelter from a storm. To pass the time, he grooms himself, ridding his body of Saurophthirus fleas. Then he sets off across the Atlantic, which was then only 300 kilometers wide and, after a whole day on the wing, reaches the westernmost of the European islands. He does not rest there however, as a pack of Utahraptor are hunting Iguanodon. He flies to the outskirts of a forest, but is driven away by Iberomesornis birds. He reaches Cantabria, but was delayed by the storm and cannot reach the center of the many grounded male Ornithocheirus. Consequently, he does not mate and dies from exhaustion. In the end, a young Ornithocheirus is seen feeding on his carcass.

Episode 5: "Spirits of the Ice Forest"

106 million years ago - Early Cretaceous - Antarctica
This episode focuses upon a clan of herbivorous Leaellynasaura as they struggle to survive in the south polar region over the course of a year. During the spring, they are shown feeding on the fresh plant growth and building nests so they can lay their eggs. A male amphibian Koolasuchus has also woken up from hibernation, heading to a river where he will stay during the summer. Out on the plains, migrating herds of herbivorous Muttaburrasaurus are also preparing for the winter. By summer, many of the Leaellynasaura clan's eggs are eaten, but those of the matriarch hatch successfully. A male Allosaur is shown hunting the Leaellynasaura and Muttaburrasaurus, but fails. The Leaellynasaura clan continue to prepare for the winter, as well as raising the young that have now grown. When autumn arrives, the Muttaburrasaurus herd soon head back north, and the Koolasuchus finds a place to hibernate through the winter. However, the male Allosaur manages to catch and kill the matriarch of the clan, and only one of the hatchlings survived. Winter finally arrives, and the forest descends into the eternal darkness that envelops the months that will go by. The Leaellynasaura clan are able to stay active, using their beaks and eyes to forage for food. During this time, the clan and other fauna use various methods of dealing with the cold such as suspended animation, hibernation or using group body temperature to maintain heat. Finally, spring returns, and two Leaellynasaura males challenge one another for the right to mate, and after a short confrontation, the clan establishes a dominant pair once again.

Episode 6: "Death of a Dynasty"

65.5 million years ago - Late Cretaceous - Montana
This episode starts months before the extinction of the dinosaurs. The last dinosaurs are depicted living under stress due to excessive volcanism. The episode focuses on a female 14 metre long Tyrannosaurus who abandons her nest, the eggs rendered infertile due to volcanic poisoning. Her calls for a mate are answered by a smaller male who has killed a young Triceratops and is eating it. Later, after repeated copulation, she eventually drives him off. The mother fasts for an extended period as she tends to her nest, dealing with raids by dromaeosaurs and marsupial Didelphodons. Only three eggs hatch and the mother brings down an hadrosaurid Anatotitan to feed herself and her brood. While defending her two surviving offspring several days later, the mother tyrannosaur is fatally injured by an Ankylosaurus. The chicks remain next to the carcass of their mother until they, and the rest of the non-avian dinosaurs, are killed when an asteroid slams into the Earth, a catastrophe that triggers the K-T extinction. A short final sequence shows the present-day Earth, dominated by large mammals, but still populated with numerous dinosaurs known as birds.

Story:
In 2006, a "burglary" occurs at the home of Kristi and Dan Rey. Every single room is completely trashed except for their infant son Hunter's bedroom. The only thing stolen is a necklace that Kristi's sister, Katie, had given to her. Dan installs a number of security cameras throughout the house to watch over their son, Hunter. The family starts to hear noises and see items fall or move on their own. Martine, the family housekeeper and nanny, believes evil spirits are the cause and attempts to cleanse the house of "evil spirits," and Dan fires her after catching her burning sage. Katie and Kristi talk about being tormented by a demon or unknown spirit when they were children. Dan's daughter, Ali, begins investigating the mysterious happenings. She discovers that on occasion, a human can make a deal with a demon for wealth or power by forfeiting the life of their first-born son. She also realizes that until Hunter, there had not been a male child born in Kristi and Katie's family since the time of their great-great grandmother.

The violence continues to escalate, and Kristi is tormented further; the family's German shepherd dog, Abby, is attacked and pulled violently off camera and apparently suffers a seizure. Dan and Ali take the dog to the vet, leaving Kristi alone with Hunter. She goes to check on the baby and notices a light flicker off. She turns the light back on but then is dragged by an unseen force out of the room and halfway down the stairs before she is released. Kristi runs back upstairs into Hunter's room but is violently dragged back downstairs. This time she is dragged into the basement where she stays for several hours. Finally, the security camera footage shows the basement door opening and a possessed Kristi walking through the living room.

The following day, Ali is at home with Kristi, who won't get out of bed. Ali looks at the inside of the door to the basement to find it covered in scratches and a single word, Meus (Latin for "mine"), illegibly scratched into the door. After hearing noises, Ali finds Kristi ignoring Hunter but aggressively demands she not touch him. Ali cries downstairs waiting for Dan to arrive home to bear witness to Kristi's strange change of character. When he arrives, Ali, who has now watched the security tapes from the night before, begs him to view the footage of Kristi's attack. Upon watching the evidence, he immediately calls Martine, who then prepares a cross that will pass the demon onto another blood relative, and that Kristi will have no memory of having been possessed. Dan tells Ali that he is going to pass the demon onto Katie so that Kristi and Hunter will be saved. Although Ali pleas with him, begging him not to because it is not fair to Katie, Dan sees no other way to save his wife and son.

That night, when Dan tries to use the cross on Kristi, she violently attacks him, and all the lights in the house go out. They turn the night vision of the hand held camera on, and find that Kristi has disappeared after snatching Hunter. Furniture all over the house begins toppling over, and the chandeliers in the dining area shake. Dan chases Kristi into the basement and after a few minutes of looking for her, she attacks him. He touches her with the cross, causing her to collapse to the floor, the camera facing the other way as the ground rumbles. Inhuman growls and roars are heard, until it finally stops suddenly. The next scene shows Dan putting Kristi to bed and then burning a photo of a young Katie, which Micah, Katie's boyfriend, would later find in the attic of their house.

Three weeks later, on September 18th, Katie visits and explains how things have now begun happening at her house. After Katie leaves, she is shown at her and Micah's house, where he has just purchased a new video camera (the scene shows approximately the first 2 minutes from the first film). On 9th October - the night after Micah is murdered (in Paranormal Activity) - Katie, possessed and bloodstained, breaks into their home and kills Dan by breaking his neck. She then climbs the stairs and confronts Kristi in Hunter's room, violently hurling her against the wall and taking the baby. The final scene is Katie leaving the room, cradling Hunter with a satisfied look on her face.

An epilogue text states that Ali was on a school trip and returned home on October 12th to find her father and stepmother dead and that Katie's and Hunter's whereabouts remain unknown.
