Lacquer Lust Garnet and Ruby swatches

Today I have the two last of the polishes from the Birthstone collection.

Garnet:

Lacquer Lust Garnet – the birthstone for January. It’s a dark brown toned burgundy holo with a fairly strong effect and it has beautiful red shimmers. This is 2 easy coats without a top coat.

Ruby:

Lacquer Lust Ruby – the birthstone for July. It’s a reddish pink holo with a fairly strong effect. This is 2 easy coats without a top coat.

Lacquer Lust Amethyst and Sapphire swatches

Today I have swatches of two of the polishes from the Lacquer Lust Birthstone collection.

Amethyst:

Lacquer Lust Amethyst – the birthstone for February. It’s a slightly smoky blue-toned grape purple holo with a fairly strong effect, so yes I recognize the amethyst. This is 2 easy coats without a top coat. 

Sapphire:

Lacquer Lust Sapphire – the birthstone for September, my birth month. I have seen swatches of this featuring it as a sapphire blue. But my bottle is a very slate-grey blue with a slight green hue, and at least one other blogger features it like that – so I don’t know if there were two versions of it. It’s a fairly strong holo and it has beautiful blue shimmers. This is 2 easy coats without a top coat. 

Do you like them - and do you have a favorite?

My favorite is Amethyst - I had hoped Sapphire was more like a sapphire...

Large floral nail art across the nails

The base color is Lacquer Lust Aquamarine, see swatches HERE, and I painted a large floral spreading across the nails with acrylic craft colors. The top coat is Seche Vite.

Lacquer Lust Aquamarine swatches

Lacquer Lust Aquamarine is from the Birthstone collection and represents March.

Aquamarine is a light and slightly grey (but also ever so slightly turquoise) toned blue linear holographic polish. The holo effect is fairly subtle even in the sun, but I do also see it a little bit in artificial light.

It is very opaque in one coat, but this is two coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

The formula is perfect, the dry time is quick and the finish is shiny. 

What do you think about it - I'm a bit torn, but I did some quite pretty nail art on it, and that made me like it a bit better...

Lacquer Lust Tanzanite swatches

Today I have another of the 12 polishes from the Birthstone collection...

Lacquer Lust Tanzanite is from the Birthstone collection and represents December.

Tanzanite is a very unique holo. It’s a dusty blue-steel grey with a light purple hue, normally not my color if it was a cream, but the holo makes it very interesting.

The holo is really strong in the sun, strong in low indoor and artificial light and it is there even in outdoor shade, where most holos turn flat. The formula is really excellent, and this is two easy coats without a top coat.

Lacquer Lust Pink Tourmaline

Lacquer Lust Pink Tourmaline is from the Birthstone collection and represents October.

Pink Tourmaline is a medium strength linear holo – and the color is a dusty mauve-rose, and not at all what I hoped for, I thought it would be more pink. I like this color on others, but so not on me! 

The formula is very easy to work with, the dry time is good, and it is very opaque in one coat. This is however 2 coats without a top coat.
