Two random different green shades from Ciate...

Ditch The Heels:

Ciate Ditch The Heels is a gorgeous, strong bright green crelly. 2 coats are enough for normal use, but for these photos I added 3, and I didn’t use a top coat.

Apples and Custard:

Ciate Apples and Custard is a muted and dusty medium green, too dusty for my liking. The first coat went on very opaque, but this is 2 easy coats without a top coat.

Ciate Pepperminty and Sugar Plum swatches

I know it's not really the time of year for pastels, but I love them all year round - so here you have two random pastel polishes from Ciate...

Pepperminty:

Ciate Pepperminty is a pretty Tiffany box blue mint cream. You need 2-3 coats for opacity, this is 3 without a top coat.

Sugar Plum:

Ciate Sugar Plum is a beautiful pink-leaning light lilac creme. You need 2-3 coats for opacity, this is 3 without a top coat.

Ciate Dolls House collection swatches: Poppet and Sweet Pea - what a disappointment

I truly debated with myself, should I or shouldn't I post this, but here you go, even with embarrassing photos, or rather good photos of embarrassing application...

Ciate Dolls House collection has 5 polishes all with the Ciate Porcelaine effect line that dries matte, I chose to buy Poppet and Sweet Pea, and I am so happy I didn’t buy more, the formula leaves much to be desired!

Poppet is a pretty pale lilac shade. The formula isn’t as terrible as the formula of Sweet Pea, but it dries fast and has a very poor self-leveling ability. Even if it looks fairly OK when still wet, any wrong move the brush made reveals itself when dry - and it really clings to my ridges, even if i did use a ridge filler base coat.

 - here it is with a coat of top coat that helped a lot..:

Sweet Pea:

Sweet Pea is a slightly grey-toned, dusty super pale mint green.

It has a terrible formula, even if you work fast with a loaded brush it dries so fast and chalky that it’s impossible to get even, and any imperfection in the nail or the previous coat shows. I gave up after 3 coats – and am embarrassed to show it....

- and here with top coat - now it's much better...

Normally I like Ciate polishes - but these really were a disappointment...

Ciate swatches: Big Yellow Taxi and Burlesque

Ciate Big Yellow Taxi is a strong, bold cool-toned yellow cream polish, with a beautiful shiny finish. The formula is nice to work with, and two coats would be enough for most nails – this is however three coats without a top cat.

Burlesque:

Burlesque is a beautiful very dark blue-toned eggplant purple cream polish, with a beautiful shiny finish. The formula and dry time are really good, and this is two coats without a top cat.

Burlesque in a big yellow taxi – dry brush stroke nail art

The dark purple nail color is Ciate Burlesque and the bright yellow is Ciate Big Yellow Taxi – and with well wiped dry-ish bottle brushes I created the pattern with the reverse colors.
Note: Not all yellow shades are suitable for this, it needs to be as well pigmented as Big Yellow Taxi.

Denim polish comparisons

Today I have a denim - jeans polish comparison post for you...

 Is this the same polish on all 4 nails - do you think...?

- the index finger is maybe a little bit different - or is it...?

I used 4 different polishes, index going to pinkie: Milani Sail Away, Maybelline Color Show "Denims collection" Styled Out, Ciate Regatta and Barry M Denim.

Milani Sails Away on the index is a little darker/more blue than the rest, but the shimmer is the same - and as for Maybelline Color Show "Denims" Styled Out, Ciate Regatta and Barry M Denim, I think they are dupes...

And finally a bonus photo of both the Maybelline Denims, Denim Dash was not in this comparison, because it much lighter...

Fantastic confetti flowers

The base color is Chanel Fantastic 481 - see swatches HERE - and I added Ciate Confetti to the tips. Before adding a coat of Seche Vite, I painted flowers going across the nails with acrylic craft paint.

Grundfarven er Chanel Fantastic 481- se den HER - og jeg lagde Ciate Confetti på tipperne inden jeg malede mine blomster med akrylfarve. Toplakken er Seche Vite.

Confetti Poison

The base color is the gorgeous blackened purple Dior Poison 996, see swatches HERE, and along the cuticle line I sponged Ciate Confetti before I painted my flowers with acrylic craft color. The top coat is Seche Vite.

I didn’t want to remove this mani again, I could have worn it forever ;)

Grundfarven er den smukke næsten sorte auberginefarvede Dior Poison 996, se swatches HER. Jeg duppede Ciate Confetti langs neglebåndene, før jeg malede mine blomster med akrylfarve. Toplakken er Seche Vite.

Jeg var så glad for denne mani, jeg kunne have haft den på i lang tid uden at blive træt af den ;)

The apple kid’s flowers

The base color is Rainbow Honey Apple Kid, and from the cuticles and down I dabbed a little holographic micro glitter, Ciate Confetti. I painted my flowers with acrylic craft color and top coated with Seche Vite. I bought this polish from Edgy Polish.

Blogger changes some colors when I change the size from medium to large, so in person Apple Kid is not quite  as hot pink...

Grundfarven er Rainbow Honey Apple Kid, og fra neglebåndene og nedad duppede jeg lidt holografisk mikcroglitter, Ciate Confetti. Jeg malede mine blomster med akrylfarve, og toplakken er Seche Vite. Jeg købte denne lak hos Edgy Polish.

Blogger ændrer visse farvernår jeg sætter størrelsen op på mine fotos, så i virkeligheden er Apple Kid lidt mindre hot pink.
