Black Cat Lacquer Bela Lugosi’s Dead swatches - and some personal stuff

Black Cat Lacquer Bela Lugosi’s Dead is from the Halloween 2015 collection. It’s a gorgeous magenta-leaning red holo with micro holo shards and multichrome flakies. The formula was a bit too thick – but manageable and opaque in one coat. I thinned it with 8 drops of Seche Restore and added a second coat + a coat of Seche Vite for these photos. I might want to thin it even more for later use.

OBS: The multichrome flakies looks black in the flash, but they are not in person, it's a really beautiful polish!

I rarely share personal stuff, but it has been a truly terrible week…

In 1993 we had a young cat, Mjavemis, killed by traffic, and in May 2010 we lost Freddie the brother of Findus, both neutered as all our cats are/always have been.
They were the only two killed in traffic - ever...

But last week, we lost two, yes TWO of our cats, killed on the road. Oh I miss them so much. 

First the 8 year old Smilly, who to be honest, didn’t really like other cats, and 3 days later my beloved Ivan just around 3 years (was a rescue kitten). Ivan was such a fun cat, but also driven by super strong desire to hunt, and he had absolutely no respect for cars.

On a positive note: Ivan and Smilly were the only two of our cats, that we ever have seen on the road, we never saw the two oldest Findus and Tyson on the road or on the “wrong” side of it. Tyson aka Tysse is really good at taking care of the kittens, so we are hoping that the three youngsters Snøvsen, Mille and Mons will be guided by him and Findus and do what they do, because this week has been enough sorrow and heartbreak for a loooong time ahead.

On top of that my back broke down really badly, but I am on the mend, and my left wrist is really acting up now for a few weeks, so I must soon drag myself to see a doctor.

Sorry about this rambling, it's not to get sympathy and attention, I simply felt like sharing….

Black Cat Lacquer The Star and The Lovers swatches

Today I have two of the polishes from the Black Cat Lacquer Tarot Collection.

The Star:

Black Cat Lacquer The Star is a really beautiful dark purple holo with micro holo shards, like a night sky. The formula was extremely thick and impossible to use, but after 20 drops of Seche Restore, it was fine – but the label also took a drop of thinner, so I destroyed part of it when I touched it afterwards. It was opaque in one coat, but this is two with a coat of Seche Vite.

The Lovers:

Black Cat Lacquer The Lovers is described as a dark magenta/red holo with micro holo shards, and that’s true, it’s gorgeous. The formula was extremely thick and impossible to use, but after 20 drops of Seche Restore, it was fine. It was opaque in one coat, but this is two with a coat of Seche Vite.

I like both, but The Lovers is my favorite - what's yours?

Black Cat Lacquer Coven swatches + comparison with Picture Polish Cabaret

Black Cat Lacquer Coven is from the Witchcraft – Halloween Collection. It is a blackened cherry/purple with holo glitters and holo particles. This is two coats with a coat of Seche Vite. It instantly made me think of my beloved Picture Polish Cabaret – see comparison below.

Do you like Coven?

- and the comparison: As you can see they are close – but not the same.

Picture Polish Cabaret is a little darker and slightly more pigmented than Black Cat Lacquer Coven, and there are more of the finer holo particles in Cabaret, and it also has a smoother formula. But both are really gorgeous!

Black Cat Lacquer Fall In Love swatches

Black Cat Lacquer Fall In Love is a beautiful wine red holo with a super subtle effect, only visible in the sun. It’s easy to work with, two coats would be enough for normal use – but for the  sake of the photos I added and additional coat.
