March Madness Sale

Hello lovelies, a quick post to say hello and tell you that I'm doing another sale on the website. I've been giving it a spring clean and thought you might like to treat yourselves to new goodies.

All you need to do is spend a minimum of £10, enter the code MARMS30 when you're checking out your basket and you'll get 30% off - that applies to EVERYTHING on the website, including items in the MEGA SALE section.

The sale will run for the entire month of March and you can use the code multiple times.

I reduced more items today, but I haven't added them all to the MEGA SALE section yet and I'll probably reduce more prices over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for more bargains.

Have a great March and look after yourselves.

Hugs, Lisa B xx

Time Flies Canvas.....

Good morning my lovelies,

This is a scheduled post from me today as I am working down at Imagination HQ, helping out to prepare demos and samples for the next One Day Special as I am unable to present this one with Sue as I have my Paper Artsy Workshop on the same weekend. So watch this space as we have something special lined up for you on Hochanda.

So today I thought I would show you in more close up detail, a make that I made for the last One Day Special on Hochanda, I have added a few more elements to it to finish the piece off.
I made a canvas using  Imagination Crafts Structure Paste, mixed media ink sprays, Art Stencils

I really enjoyed getting inky creating this canvas and adding in layers of dimension and texture.

A closer look at the detail, using waxes on to mirri card through the stencil and also stamping the words from the Time Stamps on to mirri card.....
I used some of the Craft Emotions wooden cogs and painted them with Black Starlights and them embossed them with Wow Clear Embossing Powder.

So it is short and sweet from me today as there is much to do and I will sign off now.
Don't forget that I am running a PaperArtsy Workshop & Imagination Crafts Textile Workshop. The details can be found HERE & bookings can be made via the website.

Have a great week
Big hugs
 Lisa B xx

A bit of Spring with Imagination Crafts Stencils......

Good evening my lovelies........

Sorry another late post from me today. Why is it I seem to be chasing my tail all the time????
Never mind, as I always say........better late than never!

So today I thought that I would show you a card that I made using new products on my website. The stencil beeing ....... did you get that? Sorry, my humour is so lame!

Now I looove bees, I studied them at school and they are gorgeous little things that do fantastic things in our world and are so fascinating. I am not a lover of flying insects, you get a wasp near me and I hate it as they just annoy you but get a bee around me and I am happy as larry!
Call me strange I know.......

Anyway when Sue ( from Imagination Crafts ) showed me this new design I was thrilled as I knew I would love using it and do you know what.....I did.

It is a lovely stencil that you can use as a whole as I have below or you can just take elements from it and I love that as I know I will use it for many uses. I used Imagination Crafts Structure Paste initially to add some dimension  through the stencil on to the card. Once it was dry I used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink through an Imagination Crafts Honeycomb Stencil to add some background interest and also used some torn copy paper to create some clouds.

I then placed my Imagination Crafts Bee Happy stencil back on and used my Starlights through it using a Domed Stencil Brush. The colours I used were:

I then filled in some areas of the stencil with a paint brush adding more detail and shading and then finished off by adding some detail around the outside with a Permanent Micron Pen.
I also added some splatters to the background with watered down White Gold Starlights and a paint brush and then added some detail to the card blank as well with the distress ink and honeycomb stencil.

Well I hope you liked my little happy bees card and that is all from me for now. I will be back next week, hopefully on time ;0).......
Have a fabulous week and I will see you all soon.

Love and hugs
Lisa B xxx

Class tutorial technique with Distress Inks, Ghosting and Stencils........

Good morning all,

I do hope that you are all well and enjoying your week. I am somewhat feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment as I had an accident last week and caught my finger on a car door in Peterborough and ripped my whole fingernail back, some of you may have noticed a blue plaster on my finger on Hochanda on last Tuesday's programs!!!
Well I ended up at A & E last Thursday as I kept knocking it and had it taken off, the nail that is .....not my finger, lol!
The injection they gave me was the worst pain I have ever felt, so much pressure in my finger and I know pain as a lot of you know I have fibromyalgia and deal with it daily!
But hey ho, it could be a lot worse and that is what I tell myself each day and hopefully the nail will grow back in time and the pain will subside!!

Anyway enough of myself moping!!

I promised that I would bring you a little tutorial of the technique from my class last month with stencil layering and ghosting, so here it finally is........

I started off by creating a background with two distress inks using blending tools on to a piece of 300gsm smooth white card.......

I used Picked Raspberry and Fossilized Amber and created a shaft of light effect.......

I then wanted to create some ghost layers, so I used my Imagination Crafts Large Flower Stencil and a blending tool with white gesso and sponged through the stencil in three areas on the background.......

The next layer I wanted to bring in was some random stencil background layers and using the Picked raspberry and a blending tool I added these randomly as shown.......

After that it was some stamped layers. So I chose a Crealie Bits and Pieces Stamp No.11 and again using the colours of Distress ink to keep it monochromatic with in its tones, I randomly stamped them over the background. I then thoroughly dried the background with my heat tool.....

The next stage was to add a touch of drama on to the background, so I chose an Imagination Crafts Alpine Poppy Stencil and added some Black Soot Distress ink through it with a blending tool applicator.
Whilst it was wet, I added some Wow Clear Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set it.....

To finish off I wanted to add a sentiment, so I chose an Imagination Crafts sentiment from the Thank You Sentiments Stamp Set. I then added a little more stamping with the crealie stamp in black and embossed it all with the Wow powder. I then edged it with the ink on my tool......

A close up of the wording......

To finish off I matted it on to black card and then on to a 7 x 7" card......

Well I do hope that this has inspired you to have a go.......

I am really busy getting ready for more Imagination Crafts Hochanda Shows and also getting ready for my next workshop on 2nd September. We will creating two lovely projects using new Christmas Hobby Art Stamps and I will hopefully have the samples finished soon. There are a couple of places left on both day and evening class if you would like to attend you can email me at: lisabaker1@btinternet.com or ring me on: 01622 675978

Our next Hochanda Show is a One Day Special and not to be missed, I am really excited as I have helped design the concept of it and have loved making the samples and I think you will too.
The One Day Special launches at 8pm on 27th August and then we have four shows on 28th September at 9am, 12. 4 and 7pm.....

Well that is all from me for now,
Have a great week......
Hugs
