Belated Happy New Year.....

Morning All,

Happy New Year to you all.....

Apologies for being so belated and for me not blogging much lately but I have not been well for about six weeks. I had an awful fluey cold over Christmas and chest infection and it has taken me all this time to get over it.
However I am fighting fit again and it has done me good to have a long rest and I am feeling really crafty again.....

My private studio classes have just begun and I thought I would show you some pictures of the ladies enjoying themselves on the day.....

The classes are based at home with me in the studio for only two people at a time so that you get two to one tuition. They are 10am until 4pm and you get to make five projects on the day with me. I have designed them so that you get to learn different techniques being a very small group of two so they are much more involved and made from scratch as well as being a collection of beautiful projects.

Also included for the day is tea, coffee and biscuits, treats, and a homemade cooked lunch as well as a goodie bag to take home worth  at least £10.00 and a discount voucher for crafting goods.......

Take a look at the photos and see what you think....

The table is ready and we are set to start.....

The ladies were straight into the nice warm studio and ready to get started, with tea and biccies of course!.......

We were so engrossed that in no time it was lunch time and I donned my chefs hat, lol.....
The starter was focacia bread with dipping oil, mmmnn....

Soon followed by sun dried tomato and mozzarella ravioli with my famous secret sauce and fresh seared salmon with a side of watercress, mmmnn.....

Unfortunately they were too full up for pud!!!
And then straight back to work.......

Mastering those techniques there Gill......room for more biccies........

And finally time to go home with their beautiful projects and  goodies.....

Matina and Gill had a fabulous day with me, they were great ladies and went home very happy!

Do you fancy crafting privately with me ?
If so please email me at lisabaker1@btinternet.com or ring me on 01622 675078 for more details...
You will need to be a party of two people for each day with me.

Well have a great day and I will be back soon

The Big Reveal on my Craft Studio.......!!!

Morning all,

Well the time has finally come for me to show you some pictures of my new studio.
I know it has been a long time coming but it has been worth it in my eyes as it gives me a clean inspiration space to work in and it has been great coming up with a theme and designing everything to go in there.
The decking has still got to be finished off and some other bits in the garden but here goes.....
I hope that you like it as much as me.....

My shabby chic dresser greets you as you walk in but it gives brilliant storage space and I can see where everything is!!..........

A few welcoming signs or not as you enter!!!!!

Punches all organised, I didn't realise that I had so many?........and these are the ones that I have decided to keep!

And my dies too, just Sizzix that is.........

I have to have my sounds around me and the telly of course.........

Making the most of the space......

A great comfy chair and a small work space, no more piling up a 6ft table with lots of off cuts or not putting things away anymore..... there's no where to leave it and still work!

Look at all that MDF waiting for me to get my hands on it and that's just some of it!........

I spoke to a lot of my ladies at my last class and explained that from next year, I will be running two to one all day workshops, 10am until 4pm that will include a cooked lunch as well. You will get to spend the day with me in the new studio where you will create various projects and go home with a goody bag too....
I have had a lot of great response to this and have quite a few names down already for next year.
If this is something that you would be interested in doing and want to know more details, then you can email me at: lisabaker1@btinternet.com or cal me on: 01622 675078.
I will be contacting people in December with the contents info and to book dates for 2014.
I will as from next year be running a Class workshop from Fant Hall on the first Friday of every month except January which is too early for everyone.

I hope you have enjoyed sharing my studio with you, let me know what you think and leave me a comment.

Its not quite finished ............ but a few sneak peeks!!!

Morning all,

This is actually a scheduled post as I am on my way to Spain this morning for a well earned rest!
Apologies for not blogging much lately but my time has been taken up between finishing the studio  and shows.....
We had Exeter show two weeks ago and Harrogate last weekend and I must admit I feel pretty shattered and am ready for this holiday!

Harrogate was great, it is one of my favourite shows and it was lovely to catch up with so many crafting buddies......

The studio is nearly finished, I just have a few more boxes of stash to go through and then a thorough hoover up and dust.
I have masses of stash that I have to clear as there is no more room. It has been very difficult trying to pick from 12 years of crafting stash but it has to go, so there is masses for my SALE day.
I will keep you posted on what day I will hold it......

I thought I would give you a few sneak peeks just to tease you of how it is looking........

There is an overall theme.....

Everything is organised and easy to see!!!.........

Everything has it's own place, I'm not short of flowers!!!.....

Maximum space has been used......

Well there is a little taster of whats to come, I will share more with you when I get back from holiday and get it finished off.....

That's all for now,

It's nearly there?..............

Afternoon All,

How are we all today?
I am so pleased that the weather has got a bit warmer again, I really did not like the cold wet stuff this early on in the year, it makes Winter too long for me!!!.....

Well I apoplogise for not blogging that much lately but my Log Cabin Studio has been taking up all my time lately and I thought I would show you some more progress......

I have finished painting it and have started kitting it out inside and it is looking great! It is so hard trying to condense and cherry pick 12 years of crafting stash!!!!!

Needless to say there is a huge amount of stash that will be going in to my SALE DAY at SILLY PRICES and a lot of it is Brand New.....

The studio looks really small in the photos but it is actually a decent size 11.5ft x 8.2ft......
I am resisting showing you the inside until it is finished. I am away this week from Wednesday to Sunday, I am in Exeter demonstrating for J&C. Creations but will hopefully have it finished  to show you next week.

Sharing a little more news......
I had a fantastic day on Saturday when I taught at my lovely friend Jenny Mayes at her Hobby Art workshop and met some lovely ladies....

It was lovely to spend some time with Jenny and see Becky her lovely daughter, she was busy running the shop.....
Great to see Anna too as I had not seen her for a while and lovely to meet Pam and Mark, Becky's boyfriend who made a mean lemon drizzle cake....it would have had Mary Berry drooling!!!

Here are the ladies busy crafting away on their projects......

We all had such great fun on the day......

Here are the cards that the ladies made with me on the day.....

This is Norman and Friends who I absolutely love and the Country Scene.........

This is Rocky Robin, he is so cute........

and we followed on on the inside, apologies for the fuzzy picture!......

Well that's about all for now, I better get back to the studio and sorting....
I will be back next week with some more progress...

Day 2.....We're nearly there!........

Morning All,

Well it was a much better day weather wise yesterday and I think that Paul, Mark and I was pretty relieved to be finishing putting up the log cabin in better weather, its amazing what a difference it makes!!!
Its nearly finished, we have some tiny bits and pieces to finish it off and then I can paint it....

Let's take a little look........

The sun was shining as the roof was going on........

The roofing felt is on and they are adding the fascias.......

Then the floor went in.......

The double glazed windows were going in at this point.......

After another long hard day, the cabin is finished.....well nearly there, just a few trims to go on inside......

And just before it started raining!!!......

I am really pleased with the cabin and can't wait to kit it out in to my studio. It looks quite small in the photos but it is a decent size 11.5m x 8.2 m.
I have bought some fabulous shabby chic storage for it but the painting has to come first......

I will be having a major clear out of my craft room in the house and want ot get my stash down to one third of what it is now!!!
A lot of my stuff is brand new or just been used for a demo or class samples, so I will be having a mojor sale day soon at my place and will let everyone know the date...
Its all got to go so it will be silly prices!!
I just don't get the time nowadays just to play with stash unfortunately :-(....

Anyway I will be back soon with some more progress....

Have a great day......

Hugs Lisa.B.x

Day 1......Its going up!

Evening all,

What a lousy day to build a log cabin studio!!! Hasn't it gone cold, brrrrrr, I hate the cold.....

Paul, Mark and I have all got soaked through today but it had to be done!!!

I have to say although it was wet and miserable, I was still excited that we were finally building it....

It was like a giant jigsaw puzzle but it is coming alone nicely and should be finished by tomorrow and then if the weather permits I can start painting it!

Here is a little look at its progress.....

Even though is was pouring hard they were still keen......

We were getting there......

A brief break in the rain and smidge of blue sky.......

Tea break time!.......

Its really starting to look something now..........

We are all back on it tomorrow, so I will bring you more progress on Wednesday.....

Thank you to all that attended my Christmas workshop on Friday, I really enjoyed teaching you all and it was great to get that Christmas feeling started!!

Unfortunately there is no workshop next month as I am at shows and on holiday and November 1st workshop is totally fully booked and there is only a reserve list if you wish to go on it.

Have a lovely evening and I will be back soon,
Big Hugs Lisa.B.xxx

Anyone good at Jigsaws?........he,he....

Morning All,

What a lovely couple of days we have had after all that rain........

I was really pleased that it did not rain yesterday as my log cabin, Craft Studio turned up........Yippee ;-), I am soooo excited.
Mind you, is anyone good at jigsaws?..........he,he...

I am just really pleased that it has full instructions!! It is not going up for a couple of weeks and we have bits to sort out before then but as promised I said I would show you the progress of it......

Unfortunately Paul and I were to busy unloading it from the lorry that I forgot to take a picture of it arriving, duh.....

This is the space that it is going in......

It will be so great to get a proper inspirational workspace that is not in the house so that I feel like I am not at work 24/7, mind you I may get lost out there for a few hours......mnnn...

I will show you the progress of it all as it happens and some of the lovely craft storage that I have bought for it next week, it's delish!....

I have been working on a lot of new cards samples, however I am saving them for the Christmas class on 6th September at Fant hall and will share them with you afterwards....

Well that's all for now my lovelies, enjoy the rest of your week.
