Crackled Glass

Good morning, happy Saturday. Kirsten here again, covering Lisa's Saturday post while she's on honeymoon.

I wanted to see if the Imagination Crafts' crackle medium would work on glass & it did, as long as you prepare the surface first..............

Start with a clean surface & brush on a very thin coat of a matte medium - I used Mod Podge, this will give the CM something to stick to. Leave it air dry thoroughly. Once it's dry, brush on the crackle medium. I varied the amount I used; more on some areas than others. Again, leave it to air dry thoroughly.

When the crackle is completely dry, brush on your chosen acrylic paint. Try for even strokes & don't go back over the paint, this stops the crackle from happening. The cracks should start appearing immediately.................

I painted the bottle with Silkies - Sunshine Satin, Sunset Satin & Tuscan Satin & added gold stickles. And because I couldn't leave the bottle empty, I made two OTT flowers from the Woodware
Clear Magic stamp 'Georgina' & its mini version, some painted card & chopsticks............

Thanks for looking. I think that's the last of my crackle medium projects, I'll be back tomorrow with something else.

Masked Layers

**This post is part of the Crackle Medium promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.**

Happy Tuesday to everyone. Lots of photos in today's post, so I'll try to keep the words to a minimum.......

Crackle medium, then MS Putty acrylic paint over a dark blue background. Not a good crackle, but I liked the smooth area at the top left.....

Stamped the Woodware Clear Magic mini flower with Stazon ink, also made a mask of it............

Masked the mini flower, stamped Woodware 'Georgina' on top...........

Masked that & stamped a Card-io Collection Greenery 1 stamp with permanent green ink........

Removed the masks.........

Time to start colouring............

I used Promarkers.........

The sentiment is from the Woodware Clear Magic Delicate Daisies stamp set. I added a scribbled border & a Hobby House brad, matted the card onto a square of blue core'dinations, then onto a 7x7 white card blank................

Slightly Psychedelic

Good morning blog visitors, Kirsten here. I hope you're all enjoying the bank holiday weekend. For my card today I used Adirondack inks again.......

I knew I would be using quite a lot of water for the background so I taped a piece of watercolour card to the larger of the two blending mats with a heavy duty masking tape - watercolour card/paper will buckle when wet, so the usual stencil tape wouldn't be strong enough to hold the card flat......

I swiped plenty of ink onto my craft sheet, making sure to keep the colours separate. I used Sunset Orange, Raspberry & Pool, from the Adirondack Brights collection........

I liberally spritzed the watercolour card with water & also used a wet, tapered paintbrush to apply the inks.........

I added more water & tilted the card this way & that to get the inks to run, until I was happy, then set the card aside to dry..........

I wanted to add white to the card, but couldn't use acrylic paint as it would absorb the colours from the inks & gesso would have been too white & too solid, so instead I used the Versacolor white ink pad & applied it through the Imagination Crafts Bubble stencil..............

I dried the ink with my heat tool, then put the stencil down again so that I could overlap some of the bubbles............

I stamped the Woodware Clear Magic 'Georgina' flower with embossing ink onto
Anna Marie Designs black card, heat set it with WOW Bright White embossing powder, cut it out & used a craft knife to cut out the inner sections of the petals........

I attached the flower to the card with a Hobby House brad & pinched the petals slightly to give the flower a little dimension..........

I stamped the sentiment with Stazon black ink & the Alphabet Typed clear stamp set from Hobby Art, removed the white edges from the watercolour card, backed it with a piece of blue core'dinations card & then onto a 6x6 white card blank............
