Kind Snacks Pomegranate, Blueberry & Pistachio Bar

Image
Today it's Part 2 of my Kind bar reviews, and this time it's their new Pomegranate, Blueberry & Pistachio Bar (click here for the Dark Chocolate Almond & Mint Review ). Consisting of 55% nuts, this bar is gluten and dairy free, although not vegan since it contains honey. It's described as a "40g Pistachio, Blueberry & Pomegranates Bar" and contains cashews as well as almonds, dried fruit and rice crisps. I have to say the combination of blueberries, cranberries and pomegranates works really well! This is a very fruity bar indeed, perfectly suited to the Summer weather. The pistachios go well with the berries, mingling to create an exotic taste. As much as I enjoyed the Dark Almond Mint variety I would say this one was even nicer - the fruits really steal the show! A delicious bar that also happens to be healthy, who'd have thought it? Overall, this is another win from Kind Snacks, who really are shaping up to be masters in the healthy sna...

Nestle L'atelier Chocolates & Hazelnut Butterfinger Cups (Spotted In Shops)

Image
Another Spotted In Shops quick post - this time for some new Nestle products gracing UK supermarkets! First up, following on from the success of the Peanut Butter and Coconut Butterfinger Cups , Nestle have launched a Hazelnut version. So far they've only available in Asda. Nestle Les Recettes de L'Atelier Blonde Roasted Almonds & Hazelnuts: Nestle have launched their premium L'Atelier range exclusively into Sainsbiury's stores. This range has been very popular in various European countries so it seems Nestle are testing the waters over here. This blonde chocolate sure does sound tasty - but at £3.50 a block it ain't cheap! (though I have been told it's worth the price). There's also this L'Atelier Blueberries, Almonds & Hazelnuts Dark Chocolate, available in smaller bars for £2: Plus L'Atelier Orange Zest & Cacao Nibs Dark Chocolate : As well as L'Atelier   Raisins, Almonds & Hazelnuts Milk Chocolate ... Plus L...

Nakd Blueberry Muffin Review

Image
My first post-Christmas review...hurrah! And in typical fashion it's for something healthy, which is just what the doctor ordered after all the rich food and sweets over the festive season. This new Blueberry Muffin flavour Nakd bar caught my eye in a local Sainsbury's Express only a few days after Christmas, and being a huge fan of their other varieties it went straight into my basket. How would it compare to previous editions like Lemon Drizzle and Carrot Cake ? The bar cost 85p and consists of a mixture of dates, cashews, raisins, almonds, blueberries and a hint of natural flavouring. Opening the wrapper it had a super strong blueberry aroma - wow it smelled like a blueberry muffin alright! Taking a bite, it tasted even more of blueberry muffin than I'd expected. I mean yeah I expected blueberry, but the cashews and almonds actually gave it a muffin-like taste and texture. This was a real treat indeed, and better than some of the previous limited editions, in my ...

Haagen Dazs Blueberries & Cream Ice Cream (Fruit Collection)

Image
When this new Blueberries & Cream flavour Haagen Dazs came out I was super eager to try it, although at £4 a tub I thought I would wait until a special offer was on. That offer never came, but by chance Haagen Dazs recently launched some new boxed mini tubs, in both a Caramel Collection and Fruit Collection, as well as a Sorbet Collection. The Fruit Collection contains the likes of Mango & Raspberry, Strawberries and Cream, Summer Berries & Cream and this...a mini tub of the Blueberries & Cream. They cost £2.50 for a box containing two tubs of each flavour, although are no longer on offer in Tesco. The pots come with a handy plastic spoon beneath the lid, perfect if you buy a box to take to the beach! The ice cream was of course purple, almost lavendar in colour, with little bits of blueberry mixed in. It tastes, well, like blueberry ice cream! Something I've never tried before but pretty much as I would expect - there's the subtle blueberry flavour wi...

Thorntons Fruit Collection: New Blueberry Cheesecake & Raspberry Caramels

Image
I'm a sucker for fruity chocolates, always have been, especially fruit cremes. I used to adore the ones in Quality Street until they became sweeter over the years (either that or my tastebuds changed), but I've always liked the Thorntons bags of fruit cremes too. I hadn't bought one in years until I spotted these new bags in WH Smiths recently...as well as a Fruit Colleciton they've also launched a Nuts & Pralines Collection , Mint Collection and Toffee, Fudge & Caramel Collection . They're all £1 a bag or two bags for £1.60, which is significantly cheaper than in Thorntons stores. All are suitable for vegetarians. The new additions to this Collection are "Raspberry Caramel" dark chocolates and "Blueberry Cheesecake" white chocolates, and as well as those it contains the classic "Strawberry Dream" cremes, and "Orange Crisps". I felt a bit put out that it didn't have an Orange Creme, but hey ho! I arranged...

Iceland Majestics Blueberry Swirl Ice Creams

Image
I'm not usually one to shop at Iceland, even though there's quite a few stores near to me, but when I started seeing pics of all the new fancy limited edition Ice Creams they're doing on Instagram I thought it about time I pay a visit. They've recently introduced the interesting sounding Banoffee Majestics , Limoncello, Amaretto, Liquorice & Blackcurrant varieties, plus some Bubblegum & Candy Floss Lollies . When I visited I decided to play it safe, since I've never tried Majestics before (they're basically a cheaper version of Magnum) and went for this Blueberry Swirl variety rather than try the whole range! These cost £1.50 for 4x70g ice cream sticks, which are described as "White Chocolate flavoured ice cream Lollies with a blueberry flavour sauce swirl, coated in Belgian White chocolate and freeze dried blueberry pieces". As fancy and unique as these sounded, I can't say they lived up to their promise. The White chocolate ...

Carte D'or Gelateria Blueberry Ice Cream

Image
Tesco are doing a special offer on the Carte D'or ice cream range at the moment, and one that really piqued my interest was this new "Gelateria Blueberry" variety. Blueberry isn't a flavour you often see paired with ice cream so it sounded just a little bit unique! The tub comprises of both blueberry and vanilla ice creams with a blueberry sauce, plus dark and white chocolate hearts sprinkled over the top. It looked very pretty I have to say! And it tasted "pretty" amazing, too! Although the ice cream had melted a little by the time I got home, it was still very creamy, in fact it was the perfect temperature as it wasn't too firm or solid, giving a nice soft bite. The blueberry flavour really shone through - there were strong bursts of it from the sauce - it was slightly tangy but very refreshing. This is the sort of ice cream that will be perfect on a Summers day! The chocolate hearts are mostly for decoration, but they did add a slight cho...
