2 Teach is 2...

Hello!
Tomorrow is Abbi's last day of school and actually her last year of school at MLCS. We are very blessed that we have been able to send her to such a wonderful Christian School for the past 6 years. It is going to be hard to leave such a close knit, caring group of teachers and staff. It will be especially hard because Abbi has  had the same teacher for the past 3 years and the same kids in her class for the past 6 years.
I have mixed emotions about her beginning middle school. I am so happy and thankful that she is looking forward to this next step in her life but sad that she is old enough to be in middle school! Where did the time go?!!  I am also hesitant that she is heading in to public schools next year but know that she goes with strong Christian foundation and values.

I wanted to make a special card for Abbi to give to Ms Castro and thought that this image from Anne's Digital Art was perfect!
I colored the image with Prisma, Koh-i-noor and Dewent pencils and OMS.
It is matted using SB Squares and Postage Stamp dies.
The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Back to School stamp set.
The pattern papers are Basic Greys Oxford and Life of the Party.
Keeping with the school theme, I tucked a couple of bingo cards behind the image.

Thank you for checking in with me today!

Have I toad you

Hi!
Remember me?! lol! I have been crazy busy this past week and have not had a chance to make anything, let alone post anything.
Abbi's birthday is coming up and so is her 1st communion. Hopefully after the next couple weeks are over I can spend some time at my crafting table again!
Since it is Thursday that means it's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz. Sticking with tradition for the last week of the month, this week's challenge is "Anything Goes"!
Here is my sample -

This frog was a freebie that Anne Fenton had on her blog under the "Anne's Freebie Frogs" tab. Isn't this guy cute and I loved the sentiment.
I colored him with Prisma Pencils and baby oil. The papers are Echo Parks Springtime. I kept the embellies pretty simple by using just twine and buttons.

We are making a few changes to the Twisted Thursday challenges. One change is that you can now use what ever medium you would like to for coloring, including alcohol markers with no limits! Come check out the challenge to see the rest of the DT samples...they are fabulous!

Have a great day!!

Card Supplies:
Stamp: Digi from Anne's Digital Art
Paper: Bazzill, SU, GKD, Echo Park, PTI
Ink: Memento
Other: Spellbinders - Rectangles, Button, Twine Scrappers Floss

I inked around the edges of the paper and added lace and pearls for a bit of a vintage feel.
This is what the card looks like opened.

The sentiment is from Buds & Vases, also Gina K Designs.
I used a several different spellbinder dies - Big Scalloped Rectangles, Eyelet Circles, Circles and Iron Works Accents.
The pattern papers are October Afternoon's Thrift Shop.

I have one last fall/autumn card to share with you. The image is a digi by Anne's Digital Art and I colored it with Prisma Pencils and OMS. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs Autumn Beauty stamp set. I used some pattern papers sitting on my table that were leftovers from making Halloween cards. I love it when I can use some of my pattern paper scraps. I often forget to check my scrap drawer first when I start to make a card so you can imagine how full my pattern paper scrap door is! ;)

Thank you so much for dropping by to visit!
Enjoy your Monday!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween!!
Can you believe today is the last day of October? This month has just flown by! I do not think I am going to make my goal of having all my Christmas shopping done and cards made by Thankgiving unless I can drag the next 3 weeks out into 5 or 6! lol! But then if I could make time stand still, I probably wouldn't be making Christmas cards ;-P
Since it's Halloween here in the US it seem only fitting that I share a Halloween card with you today.
This card is actually my sample for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge of Anything Goes. The challenge goes until Wednesday at midnight cst. So there is still time for you to join us :o)
The image is a digi from Anne's Digital Art. If you like digi images, I encourage you to check out Anne's blog and also the digi group over at The Outlawz. She gives away quite a few of her digi's for free!

I colored this little guy first with lighter colored copics and then added shading with prisma pencils and oms.
The pattern papers are Basic Grey's Eerie. The button is MFT die and was cut out of black fun foam. You can use fun foam with any dies. I especially like using it for buttons and flowers.

Have a spooktacular day!!

The image is a digi by Anne's Digital Art. I added a base coat of light colored copics then used my prisma pencils to add the shading. The pattern paper is Basic Grey's Eerie.
The sentiment is Gina K Designs Fanciful Fall and I cut it out using PTI's Double Banner.
I felt this little gal should have some sparkle so I covered her pumpkin suit and hat in stickles. I also added a coat of crystal lacquer to her shoes.

I want to share what the Twisted Thursday group is doing for their party challenge.
We are having a color challenge and the colors are ones you see in the fall...Red, Yellow and Green.
Here is my DT sample -
I used Sweet N Sassy's Poppies and Greetings Stamp set for both the poppies and sentiment.
I used copics to color my lightest shade on the flowers then used prisma pencils/OMS to add the shading. The grass was added with the pencils.
I used several Cuttlebug and Sizzix embossing folders to add texture to all the panels. I did not have green pearls that matched the cardstock so I used a copic marker to color a white pearl to match.

We hope you play along with us and the other challenge groups this week for a chance to win some fantastic prizes!
Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you at the Party!!

In stitches...

Happy Thursday!

Thursday's mean it's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz. This week we are challenging you to create a project that includes stitching in it. We know not everyone has a sewing machine and we do want you all to be able to play along so we are accepting any kind of stitching...faux, hand-stitching, sewing on a button...what ever you can think of that resemble stitching.
Here is my sample -
The teacup is from Layers of Colors Teacup Blessing stamp set. I colored it with Prisma pencils and oms. The stitching was done with a sewing machine.
Now that I am looking at the picture, the colors are a bit washed out. They are more vibrant irl.
The pattern papers are from K&Company's Julianne pack. The butterfly and flower embellishments have been in my stash for a very long time.

Please stop by the Twisted Thursday's challenge group and check out the rest of the DT samples and the prizes we have up for grabs. We would love for you to play along with us!!

Are you ready for another Blast from the Past Challenge? Can you guess what challenge we will be revisiting this week?
Before you guess, how do you like the shelf and quilt on my card? These are part a stamp set that Gina released tonight called Nana's Needlework. Did you guess Sewing on Cards? If you did, you are right!! Gina made 4 awesome videos about using the Janome Sew Mini sewing machine.

Janome Sew Mini Stitching

My challenge this week is to add stitching/sewing to your project.

Let me give you a few details about my card...
The images were stamped on Gina's Ivory PL paper and colored with Prisma Pencils and OMS. The doily on the shelf was stamped with versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Guiding Seagull

Hi!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Yesterday I mentioned that I spent the morning stamping with my friend Kay. She went through the my card basket and pulled out a few cards that she wanted to copy. One that she wanted to copy used Gina K's Guiding Light stamp set. I had not played with this set for quite a while so I make a card with it also.

I colored the image with prisma and Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS and used the oval nestibilities to cut it out and for the matting. The fibers are from previous Stamp TV kits.
The sentiment is from Happy Camper and the crackled background stamp is from Bold Flowers.
The anchor is also colored with pencils and OMS. I tied it to the fiber netting with hemp twine.

I am off to get ready for Monday and the start to the work week. Have a very nice rest of your evening!
hugs,
