Pretty in Pink

Hello!
Have you heard of Power Poppy stamps? This is a fairly new company created by Marcella Hawley and has instantly become another favorite for me!

These gorgeous flowers are from the Azalea stamp set. I colored the azalea's with copics and used Spellbinders large ovals to cut it out. The papers are some scraps from older packs of Basic Grey pattern papers. I wanted to keep the azalea's the main focus so I did not add any embellishments other than the paper doily tucked behind the image.
I need to practice photographing and editing my cards as it seems like I forgot how to do that. In real life the flowers do not look like they are glowing. lol!

I am entering my card in this weeks Peeps of the Week challenge at Power Poppy.

Supplies:
Paper: SU, Xpress It Blending Card, Basic Grey scraps
Stamps: Power Poppy
Other: Copics (R02, R05, RV10, RV02, RV04, E33, E37, E25, Y32, YG01, G40, G43, G45), Spellbinders Ovals, Paper Doily

So Sorry...

Hi! I hope you are having a great weekend! I spent the day with my older sister and Mom today. We had a lot of fun checking out a couple of antique malls. I love looking for vintage lace and old buttons to use on my cards. I came across a booth that was selling stamps sets, bling, embossing powders, ribbons. Most of it was Stampin' Up stuff but I did find a PTI stamp set that have had on my wish list...score!!

I needed to make a sympathy card. We lost our neighbor to prostate cancer. They are such a good people and so nice. We will definitely miss him.

I used a couple different sets on the card. The flowers are from Gina K's Dogwood and Butterfly set and the sentiment is from Framed Greetings. I colored the flowers with copics - YR000, YR01, YR02/YG61, YG67/Y11, Y000. I used the same colors along with the colorless blender for the background.

I added a bit of Dazzling Details to the flowers. The pattern paper is My Minds Eye - My Favorite Things. I finished off the card with ribbon, paper flower and leaf flourish.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Spring Flowers

Hiya!
I want to share a card that I made for my GDT with The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge this past week. The challenge was Spring. Since we are still experiencing colder than normal temperatures and getting snow, I couldn't have been happier to create a spring card!

The image is one of Sherri Baldy's My Besties which you can find here. I colored her with copics and added stickles to the red dots, heart and flowers. The pattern papers are scraps from My Minds Eye, Echo Park and Simple Stories.

I finished off the card with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, flourish diecut and ribbon.

Thank you for visiting!

Paper Crane Kindness

Hiya!

I think spring is on its way to Southern WI. We were in the low 50's today and I was even able to enjoy it for a little while :)

I have a card to share today follows this month's Reverse Confetti Sketch for you to try...a sketch after my own heart with all those layers!

SFYTT10_Mar14

Here is my take on the sketch...

I used the Paper Crane stamp set. I just love the sentiments that are included in the set.
I colored the crane with copics - BG00, BG53, BG57.
The pattern paper are from Fancy Pants. Don't you love the spring colors!

I did have two horizontal strips of paper like the sketch has but I did not like it and of course I had already glued them down so I covered them up with the ribbon. I always say there are no mistakes in paper crafting, only opportunities! lol!

Thank your for stopping by!

I Love Flowers

Happy Monday!

My card today is for my guest spot with The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge. Yes, I am a bit behind with my post but you still have until Wednesday evening to play along :)

The TT challenges are always anything goes and each week the girls include a twist if you would like to incorporate it into your creations.
This week the twist is to add flowers.

The image is a digi image from Anne's Digital Art. I colored her with copics, fussy cut her out and placed her over the heart border and embossed heart background. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts which I placed on top of a bit of cheese cloth. The leaf flourish was cut out with my Cameo Silhouette.

I hope you will stop by the TT challenge and see what the DT has made to share this week. We would love for you to play along with us!

Be Happy and Smile

Hello!
Today I am sharing a card that I made using a stamp set from My Favorite Things called Pretty Pocket. I have had this set in my stash for quite away but had not had the chance to get it inky until recently. Unfortunately, it is now retired :(

The flowers were colored with copics and fussy cut out. I used the corresponding die to cut out the pocket before stamping the stitching, leaves and flourishes. The pattern papers are Simple Stories Vintage Bliss and the bingo cards tucked in the pocket are from a sheet of Vintage Bliss which I cut out.
I finished off the card with Twine from The Twinery and a button.

Have a happy day!

Farewell Blog Hop

This is a very special farewell blog hop to honor The Craft's Meow

You should have arrived to my blog from the amazingly talented Karen Baker. If not, please start at the beginning of the hop over at The Craft's Meow blog where you will also find a list of all of the designers, past and present, that are participating today.

Lisa has made a very difficult decision to close The Craft's Meow store at the end of December. Although I am very sad about this, I completely understand and truly admire Lisa for letting God lead her and her family in another direction.
Jeremiah 29:11 "I know the plans I have for you, I want you to enjoy success. I do not plan to harm you. I will give you hope for the years to come."

Lisa, my sweet friend, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me be a part of The Craft's Meow. Working for you and being a part of this amazing DT has been an experience I will always cherish!

I have two cards to share today. My first card uses Stitched Flowers and Love Dwells Here.
The flower is from Stitched Flowers and is colored with copics. I fussy cut the flower and adhered it on top of an embossed banner.  The sentiment tag is from Love Dwells Here
I used lace, baker's twine and buttons for my embellishments.

Here is a close up of the flower.
The little bingo card was cut out from the pattern paper which is Simple Stories Vintage Bliss. Keeping with the button theme for the flower, I added a tiny button to the center of the bingo card.

My next card uses Beautiful Hymns and Beautiful Spring

The butterfly is from Beautiful Spring and is colored with copics. I added black rhinestones to the body and rhinestone flourishes for the flight path.
Once again I used lace, twine, and a button for embellishments along with ribbon.

The sentiment is from Beautiful Hymns and is stamped on pattern paper which is also from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss.

PPC & TCM Blog Hop!

Hello!
We are kicking off the week with a fabulous blog hop!
The Craft's Meow has partnered up with the Perfect Paper Crafting DT to provide you with a fun and inspiring hop that runs through midnight PST on Friday, November 22nd.

If you are not familiar with Perfect Paper Crafting, you must check them out! They have the best crafting tools that you are going to need to add to your crafty stash and are so easy to use! Bonus!!

You should have arrived from Lin's Blog, but in case you didn't, you can start at the beginning of the hop here

Be sure to comment on every blog in the hop because if you do you will be eligible to win one of two $50 gift certificates, one from Perfect Paper Crafting and one from The Craft's Meow. Winners will be randomly selected by each of the stores from all comments left on hop.

The tool I chose to use for my cards today is the Perfect Squares Tool. This tool can be used to crop photos, crop stamped images, scoring paper, trimming uneven edges and of course create a perfect square! I actually used it to create the square mat behind the plaid paper. The bottom edge of the tool has a ruler on it which makes it very easy to measure the size of square you want to cut.

All the images used for the card are from Rustic Greetings stamp set. I also used the solid line stamps in the set to create the plaid background.

I added rolled roses, flourishes and ribbon to finish off the card.

For this card I used the Autumn Borders stamp set. The turkey image was colored with copics - YG61, YG63, YG67/G40, G43, G46/R05/W00, W0, W1, W2, W3, W4, W5, W6, W7, W8, W9/E30, E31, E43, E71, E74, E77.

The image was trimmed down using the Perfect Square tool and I also used the tool to cut out the black mat for the image and the mat for the wood grain background.

I finished off this card with a button and twine.

Before I send you on your way I want to share a couple of deals that you will want to check out -
The Craft's Meow is currently having a huge sale on retiring stamp sets! You can find all of the stamps on sale here

I made two cards to share with you today.

I used this darling lil' girl from Under the Tree. She is colored with copics - R20, R22, R24, R27, R46/G43, G46/Y00, Y11, Y15/YR20, YR23, YR24/E000, E00, E35, E37/W00, W0, W1, W2, W3, W4/N3, N5, N7.
I added glitter glaze to her hair band, bows and shoes. I used a clear glitter pen and a niji water brush to water color some sparkle on her dress.
The base of the card is a french doily folded in half. The image is cut out using SB ovals and is matted on SB labels 1 and Decorative Labels 1.

The sentiment is from Christmas Blessings
I finished off the card with ribbon, paper rose and flourishes.

For this card I used the holly branches from Christmas Lantern and cut out the poinsettia from the lantern image. Both were colored with copics - R20, R30, R32, R35, R46/G29, G43, G46.
I added glitter glaze to the center of the poinsettia.

The sentiment is also from Christmas Lantern. I added pearls to the corners of the banner and pearls flourishes by the poinsettia.

Which new set is your favorite? I know I can not pick a favorite, I love all 5 of them!

TCM October Previews - Inside Christmas and Holiday Poinsettia

Welcome back to the previews for The Crafts Meow's October release!

The Craft's meow

This is our last day of previews for the new stamps being released this month. All of the new sets will be available for purchase tomorrow, Monday October 21st, during The Craft's Meow New Release Blog Hop!
The two sets we are previewing today are illustrated by Nina B Designs and Karen Baker

First up is Nina's new set is called Holiday Poinsettia and it is beautiful!

I colored the poinsettia with copics - YG000, YG00, YG01, YG21/YR000, W00, W0/E01, E02/G20, G21m G24, G28.
Nina has included several sentiments that fit nicely in the frame.

Once again I kept the embellishments to a minimum to let the beautiful poinsettia take center stage :^)

This is the inside of the card...
The sentiment is from Karen Baker's other new set this month called Inside Christmas and you are going to love each and everyone of them!

I love that you can use Inside Christmas on both the inside and outside of the card!!

I combined this beautiful sentiment with the postage stamp image from Holiday Poinsettia
The pattern papers are My Minds Eye Lost & Found Christmas.

I added a half back pearl and lace for the embellishments.

Make sure you stop by The Craft's Meow Blog and leave a comment by 8:00 pm EST tonight for a chance to one of the two sets previewed today. The winner will be posted on The Craft's Meow Blog tomorrow morning.
