TCM May Release Blog Hop

Welcome!

It is release day! All the new May stamp sets are available for purchase online through The Craft's Meow store and the new Typically Teen stamp set is May’s Gift with a $50 purchase!

Today we are celebrating the together by doing a large group blog hop and if you leave a comment on each designer’s blog as you hop along, you will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win this month's entire release!
If you're following along the hop, you should have arrived here from Ivana’s Blog. If you are just stopping by, please go to The Craft's Meow store blog to start at the beginning so you can enjoy all of today's fabulous projects!

I have two projects to share with you today.  My first one uses Grads & Dads and For My Dad stamp sets.
I used the tie from Grads & Dads with the father sentiment from For My Dad to create this card which ended up looking similar to mans outfit...not sure if any man would wear those wild pattern pants though J
The buttons are from a big jar that were my Grandma’s.
My next card uses Flower Garden, Typically Teen and Butterfly Kisses.
I stamped the flowers with various colors of SU ink and accented the centers with pearls and rock candy stickles. The sHappy Birthday sentiment is from Typically Teen and the butterfly is from Butterfly Kisses.
The pattern papers are My Minds Eye - Miss Caroline Dolled Up. I tried to follow the sketch for the May sketch challenge. You can still see the basic sketch even though I varied away from it a bit J

All of the designer's participating in the hop can be found on The Craft's Meow store blog in case you get lost along the way.
Be sure to leave comments as you hop along so you can be entered to win all 6 new stamp sets release today! You have until Wednesday, May 23rd, 9:00pm PDT to leave a comment on each designer’s blog.

Before I send you on your way I want to thank you for all of your comments and support these past few days. I have had so much fun sharing TCM previews with you and have been very inspired by all of the TCM designer’s projects. I hope you have been too!

TCM May Release Preview - Day 4

Welcome to the last day of previews for the new The Craft's Meow stamps that will be available for purchase tomorrow, May 21th!

Today we are showcasing two new totally fun stamp sets illustrated by Karen Baker called Retro Foundation and Typically Teen. Typically Teen is this month's free gift with a $50 purchase!

Let’s start out with Retro Foundations. This set has some birthday sentiments that I am so glad to now have in my collection! It also has such fun patterns that can be used for borders or backgrounds!

I love the size of the Happy Birthday sentiment and can see myself paper piecing the letters or coloring them in. My card is fairly a fairly simple masculine card. I love being able to crank out these kinds of cards to have in my stash.

Next up is Typically Teen which is perfect for a teen or tween! When I was making my card to share with all of you today, my daughter Abbi saw the stamps and wanted to make a card along with me. She had as much as I did with this set!

For my card I used a couple of the sentiments and one of the great background patterns. I went with school type theme and the patterns papers from Basic Grey’s Oxford fit perfectly with the theme.

Please make sure to check out the other designer’s projects and leave them some love J. You can find the links to their blogs and find out how to win one of stamp sets we previewed today by visiting the The Craft's Meow store blog!

TCM May Release Preview - Day 3

Good morning and welcome to another day of previews for The Craft's Meow May release.
Today is day 3 of the previews and we are featuring another fabulous set illustrated by Nina Brackett (Nina B Designs) called Sew Happy. This set coordinates with her Sewing Elements Spellbinders dies. It is also a great addition to her Sew Lovely stamp set.
Sew Happy has great image specific to sewing and the font of the sentiments is a stitched look…Love that!

When I saw the pin cushion, dress form and spool, I knew I wanted to paper piece them and I love how they look, don’t you?!
I used My Minds Eye Stella Rose – Hazel for the paper piecing and on the card. Behind the spool and pin cushion, I cut out a French doily using a piece of the wood grain paper from MME Miss Caroline – Fiddlesticks collection. I tried to go with a vintage theme by adding stitching, lace and seam binding ribbon. On the bow I attached a vintage looking brad to keep with the vintage look I was going for.

For more ideas and inspiration, check out the other designer’s projects using Sew Happy and be sure to and leave them some love J.  You can find the links to their blogs and find out how to win the Sew Happy stamp set we previewed today by visiting the The Craft's Meow store blog!

TCM May Release Preview - Day 2

Good morning!
Welcome to day 2 of The Craft's Meow May release previews.

I am so glad you stopped back because we are showcasing two new stamp sets today.
First up is a great stamp set called For My Dad illustrated by Michelle Bertuzzi.
This set is geared towards Dad’s but would also be perfect for any man in your life!  It has some classic images with sentiments to match.

My card uses the telephone image and matching sentiment which I heat embossed using black embossing powder. I used some scraps of pattern paper from Basic Grey’s Little Black Dress and a Ric Rac die for the strip in the center of the card.

My next card feature’s Grads and Dads illustrated by Kaitlyn Ord.
This is a great set with fun sentiments and images for graduates and Dad’s. I do not have any graduation stamps so I was thrilled to add this on to my collection.

I have a nephew that is graduating this year so I made a graduation card.
Don’t you love that graduation cap! I could not resist making the tassels out of twine for the caps.
I used my Scor Buddy to add the scored lines around the congrats sentiment. The pattern paper is from Authentique - Genuine pack and the Hat’s Off sentiment fit perfectly in the little tag on the paper.

Please make sure to check out the other designer’s projects and leave them some love J. You can find the links to their blogs and find out how to win one of stamp sets we previewed today by visiting the The Craft's Meow store blog!

Stop back tomorrow – we are featuring another new set by Nina Brackett!

TCM May Release Preview - Day 1

Good morning!
Welcome to the first day of The Craft's Meow May release previews!
I am thrilled to be joining the TCM designers and Annette Allen, the other GD, for the next five days to showcase six new stamps sets that will be release on May 21st.
I've have been having fun playing with the new stamps and am so excited to be able to start sharing my projects with you.

The first set we are showcasing is Flower Garden illustrated by Nina Brackett (Nina B Designs).

Flower Garden is a beautiful set with a variety of garden flowers. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers so I was instantly drawn to the scripted tulips.
I went with softer spring colors and no pattern paper so the flowers could remain the focal point. I also left off a sentiment so the card could be used for any occasion.

Be sure to check out the other designer’s projects and leave them some love J. I’ve had a peek at their creations and they are gorgeous! You can find the links to those designers on The Craft's Meow store blog and find out how to win the stamp set we previewed today!

I’ll be back tomorrow with the next set of previews!

Get well and exciting news

Hello!
Before I get to my card I wanted to share some exciting news with you! I have been asked to be one of The Crafts Meow's Guest Designer's for the month of May! Woo Hoo!!

the craft's meow.

I am so excited and can not thank Lisa enough for giving me this amazing crafting opportunity to join her and her talented design team this month! I can not wait to share my samples with you for this month's release...you are going to love all of the new sets!

Today I would like to share a card using the Get Well Soon stamp set.
I just adore these owls illustrated by Jenni Suchin. I thought it would be fun for this owl nurse to be sitting on a band aide with a feel better balloon.
I colored the owl with copics - R83/Y35/E31, 33, 34, 35/BG32, 34/C00. I added stickles to her nails, hearts on the band aides and the balloon. She also has a thick coat of crystal lacquer on her eyes and beak. I apologize for the funky shadow in the eyes. It's not there irl, only in the picture here...weird?!

Thank you for letting me share my exciting news with you and I can not wait to start showing you peeks of the new stamps later this week!
Enjoy your day!

In the spotlight

Hi!

Tonight Melanie Muenchinger has several designing friends sharing samples they created using some of their favorite sets from Melanie and I am thrilled to be included in this special hop.
I was Melanie's guest designer for her "Fun Year Round" stamp set released in July so of course I had to use that set, *wink*, but I also wanted to use one of her older sets so I paired it up with "A Year of Flowers". A Year of Flowers is another one of my favorite sets of Melanie's.

After stamping the frame from Fun Year Round on White PL paper, I did a bit of masking with the fame. I masked the outer edges and the full circles before stamping the flowers. The flowers were colored with prisma pencils and oms. I added a bit of shimmer by watercoloring over the colored flowers with a pink glitter pen and a waterbrush.

I masked off the flowers and the outer frame so I could sponge Memento's Desert Sand ink around the flowers. Then I masked off the inside of the frame (all of the circles) and sponged Memento's Angel Pink ink over the edges of the frame.

The sentiment in the larger full circle of the frame is from Gina K's "Punchy Words" stamp set and was punched out with a scalloped circle nestibility.

For the smaller full circles on the frame, I added flower brads matted with two different sized circles I punched out using a 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch circle punch.

The finished frame is matted on Gina K's Passionate Pink and Innocent Pink then attached to a card base of Kraft PL paper.

Shakin' Circles

Hello!

This is week 4 as Melanie's guest designer for "Fun Year Round" and I have a fun shaker card for tonight.
I am having so much fun making projects with "Fun Year Round" to share with you each week and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them!

Are you ready for this weeks card... The frame was stamped on Gina K's white pl paper with Memento's Paris Dusk ink and again on SU's Bashful Blue cs. This blue frame will be seen through the shaker.

Next, I cut out the inside circles on the white frame. I created an outside mask for the frame by stamping it on a piece of scrap paper and cutting around the outer edge of the circles. I layed this mask on my white frame before stamping the circle images. I attached a piece of acetate on the backside of my white frame for the window of my shaker. I layed foam pop dots along the edge of the cut out circles and before attaching it to the blue frame, I added a few dimes.

I stamped the sentiment from "Punchy Words" on white pl paper with the Paris Dusk ink and cut it out with a pinking circle nestibility die. I like how the pinking circle fit so nicely in the bigger full circle, leaving just a bit of the blue showing around it.

I have a few projects that I made for Melanie to share on her blog as well. I used the same color theme for one of them but changed it up a bit by using some shrink paper.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits!

Week 3 with Fun Year Round

Hello!

Tonight I am sharing my week 3 project as Melanie's guest Designer for "Fun Year Round".

This week I wanted to show you how you can use some of the fun shapes that are included in the stamp set so I created my own pattern paper and used it as a focal point for my card. I wanted to create a plaid grid to stamp my flower and circle images on so I used the line stamp in the set and the grid side of my Score Pal Mat. I used a piece of double sided re positional tape to tack down my paper, making sure to line up one of the corners with the lines on the Score Pal Mat.
I put the line stamp on a clear block with grid line, making sure the line stamped lined up with the lines on the block. To stamp the line, I lined up the grid line on the clear block with the grid line on my Score Pal Mat. Did you follow all that? I hope so! It may sound like it could take a lot of time but it literally took me 5 minutes to stamp the lines.
After I had my lines stamped, I stamped the images in the squares of the plaid grid.
I wish I would have used a couple darker shades of the pink and brown for the vertical lines because the shades I used did not show up as well as I wanted them to.

I made another card for Melanie to share on her blog tonight, I'd love for you to check it out.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you visit again soon!

May each Sunrise...

Hi!

I don't know about you but I am really glad the work week is over! Did you have a fun Friday?I did! My family spent the afternoon at the County fair then took my oldest daughter to dinner for her birthday.
Today I have a fun card to share that I made using Melanie's "Fun Year Round" stamp set.
I stamped the frame in Cranberry Crisp ink on a piece of pattern paper from DCWV's Crafty Stack. I pieced a few of the circles with more Crafty pattern paper that I embossed with Kassies Brocade cuttlebug embossing folder.
The flowers are included in the stamp set and can be used for two step stamping which I did using Memento's Cantaloupe and SU's Cranberry Crisp ink.
The sentiment is from Melanie's "Inspiration Mosaic" stamp set. I stamped it with Cranberry Crisp and cut it out with circle nestibilities.
I wanted to have a bit more of the pattern paper around the circles frame so I made the card size 5x5 which also gave me room to add a border to the frame.
I finished off the card with some ribbon and brad in the center of the flowers.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate it!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Sporty Birthday

Hiya Stampers!

Today is my week 2 as Melanie's Guest Designer for "Fun Year Round" and I am thrilled to share another card with you using this stamp set!
I paired up Melanie's "Just so Sporty" and "Sporty Accessories" stamp sets with the "Fun Year Round" stamp set for my card today. I stamped all of the sports balls and bat from the Sporty Accessories Stamp set on Gina K's White pl paper with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink then either colored them or shaded them with copic markers.
The frame was stamped on a piece of Basic Grey's Ambrosia paper with the Tuxedo Black ink and I used several different copic markers to shade and color all the circles. I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Just So Sporty stamp set in the upper right corner then used foam pop dots to attach the balls and bat to the frame.
I had a bit of blank space in the frame that I that I did not like so I punched a circle in the pattern paper, layered on a circle punched from Smokey Slate cs, added a button to the center and glued in the blank space.

My Nephew's birthday is next week and he loves all sports. Won't this be a perfect card for him?

I made another card for Melanie to share on her blog. I cut the ends of the frame off and used them as corner pieces...go check it out and let me know what you think.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I really appreciate it!

Christmas in July

Hi!

I hope your day is going well!
How about a little Christmas in July? I have a Christmas card to share today. It's the first one I have made this year so that means I should be able to say I have started on my Christmas cards, right?. Hee hee! I used Melanie's Fun Year Round stamp set. The snow flakes were stamped with versamark and heat embossed with bridal embossing powder. I love this embossing powder because when heated it has a glitter shine to it. I added a silver brad to the center of each of the snowflakes.
I stamped the sentiment with cranberry crisp and added the smaller matching snowflake to the center before cutting it out with a circle nestibility.
The pattern paper is Basic Grey's Wassail and the cs is Gina K's White and Soft Sand PL and SU's Cranberry Crisp.

Have you started on your Christmas cards? I always hear of others that have theirs completed by the end of July...I sure am not one of them. I am lucky if I have mine done and mailed a couple weeks before Christmas! lol!

Thank you for visiting me today! Come back again soon!
Card Supplies:
Stamps: Fun Year Round
Ink:Versamark, Sahara Sand, Cranberry Crisp
Paper: Basic Grey - Wassail, Gina K - White, Soft Sand, SU - Cranberrry Crisp

Snowflake flowers

Hello my friends!

Today I have some exciting news that I would like to share with you...

Melanie Muenchinger asked me to be her Guest Designer this month for her newest stamp set, "Fun Year Round"!!! This is such an honor this is for me! I am so excited because Melanie has been one of my Stamping Idols since I found Gina K Designs. I just love all of her work and of course her stamp sets!

Thank you so much Melanie!!!
Fun Year Round is another must have stamp set. It is packed with stamps that you can literally use on your projects year round. I am having a blast playing with this set and know you will love it too!

I had a hard time deciding what to share tonight but finally decided on this card.
I used one of the larger snowflakes along with the Let It Snow sentiment from the set to make my card. The snowflakes were stamped on White PL paper with SU's Soft Sky ink then punched out with an older SU flower punch. I was pleasantly surprised that the snowflake fit in that punch perfectly. My snowflakes look more like flowers now but would have looked like snowflakes if I had not added a brad to the center. I love when you make discoveries like this, don't you?

The pattern papers is Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses and I paired that up with Gina K's Oceans Mist, Grass Green and SU's Pink Pirouette.
I added buttons and ribbon to finish off the design of the card.

I made another card with Fun Year Round for Melanie to share on her blog tonight and would love for your to check it out. I am going to tease you with a sneak peek of it.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you come back soon!!
