Paper piecing Challenge
Tonight's card is for my Friday Blast from the Past Challenge over at Stamp TV. This week I am asking everyone to create a project that has paper piecing on it. This is a fun technique and one of my favorites. Gina has a tutorial video on paper piecing, which you can find here.
For my card I used Basic Grey's Origin papers along with Gina's Green Apple, Chocolate Brown, Tan Leather and White pl papers.
The sunflowers are from Gina K's A Year of Flowers and the butterfly is from her Picture It stamp set. Both the flowers and the butterfly were paper pieced. I used copics Y02 and E31 to add some shading to them.
The sentiment is from Lovely Labels and is cut out and matted with oval nesties.
I adding stitching around the pattern paper and kept the embellishments simple with just a ribbon bow.
Here is the inside. The sentiment is from Elegant Post.
I would love it if you would play along with me this week! If you do, please be sure to upload your project to the stamp TV Gallery using the tag STVBPSLS12 so you are entered in the drawing for a free stamp set of your choice and good luck.
Thank you for stopping by! I really appreciate it!

Shakin' thing up
Tonight I want to share the card I made for this weeks Blast from the Past challenge on Stamp TV. I want you to shake things up so I am challenging everyone to make a Shaker Card this week. Easy enough right? Well I don't want it to be too easy so I am adding a twist to the challenge. Normally you see shaker cards with beads, glitter or punched out paper pieces inside the shaker, I would like you to think outside of the box and come up with something unusual for the inside of the shaker. Sound like fun? I hope so!!!
Let me show you my sample...
I used stamps from Gone Fishing for my shaker card so of course I had to use fish hooks for the inside of the shaker. The fishing fly was colored with copics as was the fish hanging from the hook along the side of the shaker box.
The pattern papers are Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers...love this pack!

Quite a Catch blog hop
Tonight I am joining several other Gina K Designers and CSS Alumni in a blog hop for the Quite the Catch stamp set. This stamp set come with a free card kit designed by Jessica Fick.
There are lots of blogs to visit tonight so let get right to the cards. All my cards tonight are made with some of the current challenges in mind going on over at Stamp TV this week.
My first card is for the color challenge which is Turquoise Sea and Innocent Pink. I used Bubblegum Pink instead of Innocent Pink. I really like this color combo!
Don't you just love the goldfish and starfish in this set? The goldfish looks like a princess and I love the big happy smile on the starfish! Both are colored with copics and I added some stickles for a bit of sparkle. The pattern paper is October Afternoon's Ducks in a Row.
Here is the finished inside.
Here is the inside. I used a sentiment from the Friends stamp set. I hope you will join me for this weeks Blast from the Past challenge. If you do be sure to upload your project to the stamp TV gallery using the tag STVBPSLS10.

Tonight I wanted to share with you my Blast from the Past challenge for this week.
This week I chose to revisit Gina K's 'Box of Gift Cards' videos which you can find here and here. Mother's Day is right around the corner and I thought this box of cards would make a nice Mother's Day gift.

Silly fish
Tonight I wanted to share my sample card for I made for this weeks Blast From the Past Challenge over on Stamp TV that I am hosting.
This weeks challenge is to create a project using the technique "Inking a Cuttlebug Folder". I used a sizzix dots embossing folder and inked it up with Tempting Turquoise ink. This is my background behind the fish and seaweed. The silly fish is from Gina K's Quite the Catch stamp set that was just released tonight! This stamp set is part of this months card kit. The dp is included in the card kit.
The seaweed and sentiment are also from the Quite the Catch stamp set. I colored the fish with Prisma pencils and OMS and the seaweed with copics. The card base is a Turquoise Sea PL paper, also release tonight.

foiled water
I wanted to share with you the card I made this week for my Friday Blast from the Past Challenge over at Stamp TV.
My challenge this week was to emboss aluminum foil. I decided to use the D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug ef to make aluminum foil water for this adorable little duck in his umbrella. This cute little guy is from Gina's Spring Has Sprung stamp set. I colored him with copics and added a bit of glitter to the handle and edge of the umbrella. I stamped the dragon flies directly on the pattern paper and colored them with copics and also glittered their wings.
I wanted some color the foil water so I used my alcohol reinkers and dabbed some color on, similar to how you do the Polished Stone technique.
Here is a close-up of the water and you can also see the sparkle on the umbrella and the dragon flies. The pattern papers are from Basic Grey's Kioshi pack.
I hope you will join me this week for the embossed aluminum foil challenge! If you do join me, please be sure to upload your project to the Stamp TV gallery with the tag of STVBPSLS07 so you are entered in the drawing for a free stamp set.

Pink and brown sparkly bees
It's that time of the week for another Blast from the Past Challenge.
This week we are adding glitter to a project or card. You can read all about this challenge and the other challenges going here.
I used stamps from A Beautiful Life. The Frame was stamped twice. Once on White cs and another the white pattern paper with the dots. The Tulips stamped on the white cs were colored with copic and cut out. The inside of the frame was cut out from the of pattern paper and I pieced the tulips to this frame and popped the frame up on another piece of pattern paper.
I stamped the sentiment with Rich Cocoa ink, cut it with Oval Nestibilites and glued it to the center of the frame. I added Doodlebug Glitter around the outside and center of the frame using a Quickie Glue Pen. The bees were also stamped with Rich Cocoa ink, cut out and covered with glitter.
The base of the card is Chocolate Kiss and Lipstick Red.
Here is the inside of the card. The sentiment on the inside is also from A Beautiful Life.
I hope you will be able to join me for this weeks challenge. If you do, please be sure to upload your project to the Stamp TV Gallery with a tag of STVBPSLS06 so you are entered in the drawing for a free stamp set.

Before you guess, how do you like the shelf and quilt on my card? These are part a stamp set that Gina released tonight called Nana's Needlework. Did you guess Sewing on Cards? If you did, you are right!! Gina made 4 awesome videos about using the Janome Sew Mini sewing machine.

Janome Sew Mini Bobbin and Threading 2
Janome Sew Mini Stitching
My challenge this week is to add stitching/sewing to your project.
Now I want everyone to be able to join in the challenge so do not worry if you do not have the Janome Sew Mini or a sewing machine, you can sew a button on your project, do faux stitches...pretty much anything that will look like sewing or stitching will be accepted.
Let me give you a few details about my card...
The images were stamped on Gina's Ivory PL paper and colored with Prisma Pencils and OMS. The doily on the shelf was stamped with versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The vase is from Gina's Lovely Shelf Stamp set and I stamped it on the back of the pattern paper and cut it out. The flowers are in the vase are part of the Nana's Needlework stamp set and were also colored with Prisma Pencils and OMS. The pattern paper is DCWV - Linen Closet.
Here is how I finished the inside of the card. The sentiment is from the companion set of Nana's Needlework called Nana's Needlework Sentiments.

Join me for a Blast from the Past!
Today is the day I kick off my term as the Hostess for StampTV's Blast from the Past Challenges. I would love for you to join me and if you do, there is a prize drawing for a free stamp set. You can read all about the challenge in the challenge discussion on Stamp TV.
My first challenge is to make a project that used the shaving cream technique as a background. Check out the Shaving Cream episode here on Stamp TV and then go grab your shaving cream, and create a project with me.
This is my card for the challenge. The flower image is from Gina's Eclectic Summer stamp set. I stamped it on white pl and colored it with copics. The reinkers I used with the shaving cream for my background are Certainly Celery, Mauve Mist and Perfect Plum. After the background paper was dry, I covered with versamark using the direct to paper method and heat embossed it using iridescent ice embossing powder. This gave is a lot of sparkle and made the ink colors pop. Love that look!
