6 Week - Day 17

Soul Food:  Psalm 119 - Gimel

My Food:

Breakfast: Breakfast salad

Lunch: Loaded taco salad - buffalo chickpea dip, g-bombed black beans (made with onion, mushrooms, greens, green chilis, taco seasoning), broccoli, and topped with lentil buffalo sauce.  The *heat* was on today! :)

Dinner: Dinner salad (not pictured), Broccoli and mushrooms sautéed in veg broth and garlic, peas, and a small serving (less than a cup) of the kids' favorite Mac n' Cheeze.

And, when I say the kids' favorite, I mean to include the newest fan.  Yep, it's *that* good.

Dessert: Well, it WAS chocolate Nice Cream...

Exercise: Walk to the library with a couple of girlies

My Thoughts:

So, first I wanted to note that I'm taking an idea my friend Tanya includes on her health blog and I'm going to start including my bible reading for the day.  Keeping my focus on my Creator comes when I stay planted in his word all through the day.  My "soul food", or lack of it, feeds my choices and actions each day.

Second, I'm on my fourth (I think) day of having a full (6 or more hours) of uninterrupted sleep. Now, that's amazing and I'm super psyched about that. But, I also feel my body CRAVING more. I do this every time my babies start to sleep through the night.  My body goes into binge mode and I can't get enough of the sleep once it starts coming. So, I've been feeling rather "draggy" these days.

Third, I did okay today. I felt *really* hungry, truly, this afternoon. But, I'm feeling completely stuffed at each meal. I'm still working to remember to drink enough. I'm still struggling to get my digestion and stools to the right place. I just can't figure out why I'm dealing with hard stools with all the fiber I'm getting in. Still researching and hunting for that answer.

I've got some more thoughts floating around in my head after seeing a meme today on facebook. I'm going to think on it some more and see about writing another post if I find some time to get it down.

Speaking of finding time.  This solo-parenting gig is tougher than it looks. :/

  1. Your meals sound delicious! Yay about the sleep! Your body will adjust soon. :)

This week, I've not been feeling so sleepy in the afternoons, not sure if that is because of my eating choices or that we are just enjoying lovely weather here right now. Baby dear wakes me up still a few times at night and since the clock change he has had a restless period during the early morning hours and I'm not sure why. This mama would just like to sleep!
