6 Week - Day 16

My Food:

Breakfast: Breakfast salad

Lunch: a salad my husband made for me so it was extra good ;) (Romaine topped with roasted chickpeas, carrots, and that yummy lentil buffalo sauce), golden honey dew melon

Dinner: grazed through the lazy afternoon eating raw carrots, broccoli, celery, and tortilla chips with buffalo chickpea dip and cookie dough hummus

Exercise: none

My Thoughts:

Well, let me tell you what I DIDN'T eat today and you'll be quite proud of me. ;)

After going back and forth in great detail on the phone while we drove home my husband and I were able to make the right choice and NOT take the fam out to eat to celebrate our youngest's birthday.  It was a close call. We even had to fight the urge to order take-out. BUT, we did NOT go to our favorite burger joint or order Chinese take-out and I am SO happy about that. I knew I would be. :)

I did NOT eat any birthday cake today. I was very happy with my special golden melon. Man, that was a really good melon!

I did NOT eat any of the blueberry muffin that I was feeding to the birthday boy at dinner tonight. :)

So, given the incredible temptations I faced today, I am feeling really proud of my day, even if I was pretty much snacking all afternoon.

Scale was down .2 pounds today. Just a teensy bit. But, still down I guess.

Looking Ahead:

My husband and boys will be gone this week until Wednesday night.  I need to stay focused on eating well. I worked hard to pack good meals and foods for David so he can stay on track too. He was grateful.

I'm so glad we are doing this together. It's really a hard journey at times. His support means so much to me. Even with how I've felt discouraged lately, he's been so sweet and encouraging. He makes me feel like I'm already at my goal some days.

This is a challenging journey, so your gracious encouragement is quite welcome.
