I recently learned a new technique by watching AKCaraboo on YouTube which you can see here .  I love it and will be trying more.  I may even do a technique video showing it to you as well.  After I did my own stencil printing, I had a project to create that you will see soon.  There was a scrap of paper left over that I decided to use to make these pretty little cards.  Since I was using stuff that was left over from another project, these little beauties took only a few minutes to create and I love them. Teddy Bear Baby

Image
Good morning everyone.  If you are hopping over from 3 Girl JAM, welcome.  I have a little card for a co-worker to share with you today.  I wanted to make her something unique but also pretty.  3 Girl JAM had the perfect combination of ribbons, though I used pieces from 2 different bundles.  Iris from the Spring Flowers bundle and Baby Girl from the Baby bundle paired beautifully to pull this card together. Now I realize that the picture looks a bit fuzzy and I was bummed about that at first.  Then I realized that the vellum overlay was causing that look.  It makes the card feel soft and ready for baby. Besides the gorgeous 3 Girl JAM ribbon that is linked in the bundles above, I used a few other products.  They are: Prisma colored pencils - Sienna brown, dark umber, burnt ocre, black, pink, violet, parma violet, peach Gamsol Charm from a RAK Teddy Bear Vellum Cardstock - white from Paper Trey Ink and Georgia Pacific Colored paper - from my stash (unsure of the

I have seen several different "window" cards lately and I wanted to give it a try so I decided that these birthday balloons would work well.  I also wanted to make this card for an adult male so I wanted it to be more muted and in masculine colors. Wedding Card Time

Image
Today I have a special card to share with you.  One of my dearest friends has a daughter who is getting married.  Many years ago, I was a teacher's aid in a Christian school.  My friend was a co-worker and her 3 year old daughter was part of our kindergarten class.  Now this precious 3 year old is all grown up, graduated from college, and getting married.  Yep, I'm getting OLD. While designing the card, I realized that I have very limited stamps for wedding cards.  When this happens, its time to get creative with the stamps you have, right?  As you can see, you could also use this card for other occasions since it isn't "sentiment exclusive".  I have discovered that the "Dress White" from the new Navy bundle at 3 Girl JAM is the perfect color choice for a white wedding card.  You can find yours here . The main paper I chose is from the beautiful "Couture" 6X6 pad from SEI.  I also used paper from Paper Trey Ink. Embellishments are fr

Piles of Circles Cards

Image
Hello everyone.  I trust you are having a great day.  Today I have chosen a card that was inspired by another card.  Once again, I saw the original in a tutorial from Operation Write Home.  As soon as I saw this card, I loved the design and knew it would be a perfect use of scraps.  I made my design after looking at the picture once, so it obviously isn't an exact copycat.  I hadn't even looked at the original post so I don't know the sizes she used.  If you would like to check out the original post, please click here . If you watch the video, I focused on making the following card: At the end of the video I added a bonus card.  This is one of my favorite recent cards. I used the following supplies to make these 2 cards: Thank You - Scraps from My Mind's Eye - "Fine and Dandy" Martha Stewart - 1" circle punch Hero Arts - "All Occasion Messages" stamp set White embossing powder Versamark Ink Washi tape from Target Coredinations

Thankful Beyond Measure

Image
I trust you are having a great Thursday.  I'm so happy to be with you today.  Do you ever have those times when you just want to let someone know that you are thankful for them?  I know I do.  Recently a co-worker asked me if I had an extra thank you card for just such a person and I knew that I needed to make one that was extra special.  Needing room for multiple people to sign and leave a message, I decided that I would make a 5X7 card.  I grabbed some paper, some embellishments, and a few other items and went to work.  Of course any special card is made more special with 3 Girl JAM ribbon so I also grabbed some Witch's Brew and Antique White . Now I must tell you that there is a NEW COLOR of 3 Girl JAM ribbon that will be coming soon that would have been even more perfect for this card.  I admit that I seriously considered sneaking it in here, but I behaved.  Curious?  You will all have to wait just a few more days.  Let me tell you, it will be worth the wait. Of cou

Simple Sketch Inspired Cards

Image
Today I wanted to show you 3 of the simplest cards I've made in a long time.  They were styled after another Operation Write Home sketch that you can find here .  These sketches are really helping me get caught up right now and I'm so thankful for them.  Remember that using a sketch doesn't take away your own creativity or flair.  A sketch is just a springboard to jump to your own ideas. The first card I made was from the Basic Grey "Life of the Party" 6X6 pad and Element stickers.  The blue card base was something I found in my stash.  I think this will be a perfect male or kid birthday card, don't you? I decided to take a border from the Element sticker sheet to finish off the inside.  Hero Art's "All Occasion Messages" had the perfect little happy birthday sentiment to finish it off with Archival "Jet Black" ink. The second card is definitely for a lady.  I pulled out the "So Sophie" 6X6 pad, Basic Grey "
