"We Will Miss You" Card

Image
It's unfortunately time to say good-bye to a great co-worker.  Her husband is being transferred to another state and we are going to miss her.  Melissa has a very quirky sense of humor and so I wanted to make a card to reflect that.  This is definitely a one-of-a-kind card that is fitting only to Melissa, but I hope you can use some of the techniques to make your own card. I have never attempted a pop-up card before, so to start I had to find out how to make the die cut on the inside POP.  I found this video on YouTube (click here ), and decided to give it a try.  This is a basic pop- up card though the original tutorial I found had much more complicated techniques also. I started with the inside of the card because if it didn't work out correctly, I wanted to be able to start all over again without re-doing the outside.  Thankfully, it didn't come to that. My bus was cut from Doodlecharms and is cut at 3 3/4" using the flip feature.  I needed ...

Animal Card Series - Poodles of Fun Box

Of course we have to have something to put all those cards into, don't we?  Today we are taking a break from the cards so I could have a place to store the ones that were finished.  I had piles of cards sitting on a table.  Could be a recipe for disaster should Hobbes, my mangy cat decide he likes googly eyes and twine. I didn't really go through the process of creating the box on the video.  If you would like more information on how to make a box click here .  I just wanted to show you how I decorated it.  The box was made from plain white cardstock from the office supply section at Walmart.  The rest of the paper was from my stash or my scraps.  I didn't have quite enough striped paper to make all 4 boxes, so I made the 4th one from a great scrap from Penny's Playground.  I absolutely love this collection and am pretty much down to scraps.  I'll be sad when they're gone. It's going to be a tight fit to get all 8 cards in the ...

Apple Tag

Image
I love to make "gift baskets" using the gifts as part of the basket.  I did this for a bridal shower today.  The gift is a colander, spaghetti server, dishtowel, spaghetti, pasta sauce, and Parmesan cheese.  I had also placed a recipe in the basket as they were being collected for the bride. Of course, a great gift basket should have a great tag, right?  Though I had placed a card on the the inside, I decided that I needed to make a tag, so this is what I came up with. For information on the supplies and tools that I used to make this, please watch the video. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

"He is Risen" tags

I love Easter and I try to give my family a little basket of goodies each year.  This year, I added little tags to my kids' baskets.  If you missed the card that I made for my husband's basket, you can view it by clicking here .  On to this project...  These tags were really easy to make using tags made from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More that I had already made and were tucked away.  Priam flowers, distress inks, and stamps from Studio G add beauty.  I made the eggs using Doodlecharms. Unfortunately, the picture I had taken of these tags appears to be damaged.  I hope you can see them well enough on the video to get the idea.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Day 4 of Getting Cricky Fun - "The Perfect Blend" Card

Image
So it's confession time.  I was in a huge hurry when I made this card earlier today.  I realized that I hadn't stamped my image clearly.  That's what happens when you get in a hurry.  Krista's stamps are very high quality and stamp very cleanly.  The flaws in this card are totally my fault and not the stamps.  I decided to add a way to earn an extra entry for the FREE stamp set today.  Check the list at the bottom of the page to find out more about it. I plan on making more of these cards because I love the way they turned out!  Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope you enjoy the video. A portion of the proceeds from each of Kristal's stamp sets is donated to charity.  The stamps are also manufactured in the US and that's really important to Kristal.  I think they are fabulous stamps and I love the versatility they provide.  You can click on each image below to purchase these stamps. Aren't these stamp...

Baby Bag and Card

Image
Do you have shopping bags sitting around?  You know, the kind you get from retailers in the mall.  They are too sturdy to throw away, but you don't want to use them as a gift with your favorite store written across the front.  No worries, with just a little creativity (and maybe a Cricut), you can re-purpose those bags into your very own original gift bag.  I once saw one on YouTube and I decided I finally had something I could do with those bags that I have stacked up.  It's also a great way to turn a plain, inexpensive gift bag into something special. As I mentioned in my last post, I attended a baby shower for a co-worker tonight.  She is expecting a baby girl and I had a bag I had been saving for just such an event.  I was so excited to use it!
