2019 Christmas Tag #1 & A Giveaway

Image
I love Christmas tags.  Last year, I was so busy that I bought those sticky tags to put on packages.  They did the job, but this year I wanted so much more.  I was inspired by Sandy Allnock's tag series to do some crafty tag making and I highly encourage you to go check out her 24 Tags of Christmas Videos.  She is so very talented. Let's dive into this week's tag.  There is a product list below that you might find helpful.  If you saw the "Getting Ready for Christmas" video in the previous post, you know that I am trying to use my stash for much of my Christmas crafting this year.  If you can't find a product listed below, be creative in your substitutions.  I am also including the cut file from the Cricut Design Space. The biggest tip I have for this tag is to use a new Cricut blade when cutting the glitter layer.  It is very intricate and tears easily. Simple Christmas Cards

Image
I was finally able to spend a few hours in my craftroom tonight.  These simple Christmas cards were just some of the things on tonight's agenda.  I simply grabbed some 12X12 paper, some colored paper from my stash and simple white cardstock. The start, I cut 6X6 squares from Botanical Noel by recollections.  I then cut 5X5 squares from plain Georgia Pacific cardstock. I then grabbed some red and green cardstock from my stash and cut 4" stockings from Cricut's "Trim the Tree" cartridge.  It's an older cartridge that has several interesting shapes for Christmas. I then stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink and the "Merriest Christmas Holiday" from Close To My Heart.  Unfortunately, this is an older stamp set and you may have to find it on Ebay.  Finally, I attached the stocking to the card using my Xyron 250.  It was a really quick card that is easy to mass produce. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some tim

Christmas In July - A Create*Craft*Share YouTube Hope Challenge

I know.  Who in their right minds is already thinking about Christmas?  I am.  I have such a long Christmas card list that I wanted to get an early start this year.  I set a goal.  Ready?  My goal is to make 10 cards per week until I have enough.  Lets see if I can do it.  Here is this week's card. For inspiration, I turned a 4X4 card that I found in the current Close to my Heart Idea Book into an A2 sized card. I love the end result!   Here's what I used from Close To My Heart: Christmas Post Stamp Set Ruby and Black Exclusive Inks Ruby Cardstock New England Ivy Cardstock Colonial White Cardstock Colonial White Cardbases Bronze Shimmer Trim Honeycomb Embossing Folder Sparkles Brown and Tan Assortment Foam tape I also used some other embossing folders to give it some variety. Do you want to know the best part?  There is a PRIZE being offered with this post.  Check out the video for all the details!  Also check out the F

Revisiting Old Cricut Cartridges - Scandinavian Christmas Cards

Image
Click HERE to join the current giveaway. I know that Christmas is still months away.  However, I DO NOT want to be finishing cards the week before Christmas this year.  I want to take time to enjoy the little things around the Christmas season and not be rushing to finish.  I want to spend time focusing on Jesus - the reason for the season.  I want to spend days with my family.  I want to make lots of candy and bake delicious treats.  I want to have a variety of cards and not just mass produce 100 or more cards that are the same.  Want to know a secret?  Last year I bought Christmas cards...shhh.... So, lets pull out those Cricut cartridges and get a kickstart to the Christmas season.  I personally don't plan to purchase new cartridges this year.  Though I may buy a few stamps (G45 has the new "12 Days of Christmas" set), I really want to use up my stash while revisiting some old Cricut cartridges. I chose Scandinavian Christmas Cards for my first set of Christmas

Christmas Gift Cards

Image
A week or two ago, I featured a birthday card that was a gift card holder.  At that time, I promised a video on how to make them.  Now I know that Christmas is long past, but you can take the concepts used in these card holders and use them for any occasion.  Grab your Cricut - Artiste cartridge from Close To My Heart (CTMH).  We will be making the card on the "j" key and cutting it at 3".  I'll list the other supplies I used under each individual card.  The front piece of patterned paper was cut at 2 7/8" by 3 5/8" and the back was cut at 2 7/8X 3 7/8" for each card. Snow Man Soup

Image
Here are some cute little soup kits I made as gifts this year.  The snowman is altered from the "Christmas Cards" Cricut cartridge and I had several left over from last years Christmas card.  I was running down to the wire on getting these sent, so I needed a quick project and this fit the bill.  It was quick and very inexpensive.  You could actually give it all winter long.  Please enjoy the video.

Christmas Card 2011

Image
I am finally getting around to posting this year's Christmas card.  I know its a little late.  I saw a white on white card while blog hopping one day.  I had planned to do something else for this year's card, but when I saw this one, I quickly changed my mind.  The little pop of red is a great accent.  The sentiment on the inside can be seen on the video and was from a stamp I picked up from Hobby Lobby.  "Merry Christmas" is from K. Andrew Design's "Winter Wishes" set and can be found by clicking on the picture below. I trust you had a Merry Christmas.  Enjoy the video.
