More Paper Treat Bags

Image
A few weeks ago I showed you a couple of treat bags that I made.  I ended up using one of those as a guide to make a complete set.  I love the results and they were super quick and easy to make.  You should give them a try. Products I used: Paper sacks - The Paper Studio Mainstays Sequins Glitter tape from American Crafts Distress inks - mustard seed, salty ocean Close to my Heart - Pear Exclusives ink pad; Remember the Little Things stamp set (retired) Memento Tuxedo Black ink Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Bath Tote

Image
It's hard to believe, but our oldest child will soon be headed to college.  I'm not sure we are ready for that, but ready or not, it's coming.  She picked up a large plastic tote to carry bath items from her dorm room to the bathroom.  It's super fun, but I thought we could kick it up a bit.  I grabbed the Close to my Heart Artbooking Cartridge , some vinyl that was made by Cricut, and went to work.  I also used a cursive letter font that came as part of the free ones allowed by Cricut.  This project was pretty simple and I know my daughter will like it. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Treat Bags

Who doesn't enjoy getting a surprise treat?  I know that I do and I bet you might too.  Today, I want to share 2 little treat bags that I made. The first one was made from a little paper bag that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I love the purple chevron and just knew that I needed to make something with it.  The stamps were from a cute little hostess stamp set that will be retiring at the end of July.  When I saw it, I knew I wanted it.  Can you guess why?  If you are interested in hostessing a gathering so that you could earn this set, I will be happy to set one up for you.  Just email me at djssundries@gmail.com for more information. Other supplies: Gold glitter tape from American Crafts Gold sequins by Mainstays (Walmart) White and purple cardstock scraps Smokey Plum Exclusive Ink Pad (found here ) Foam tape The second little bag is completely different. Here's what I used: Ruby Exclusives Ink pad (found here ) Kaboom Stamp Set (CTMH - June Stamp of the

Mini Message Boards

Image
Good morning.  I hope you are having a wonderful day and enjoyed a good weekend.  I was so inspired by Scrappin' Abby's Memo Board last week that I wanted to make some of my own.  I decided to use some great 3 Girl JAM ribbon to make them just my style. The new Flair and Flower Bundle were just what I needed to make my little boards.  All I had to do was add some extra ribbon from the new Tie Dye 1 and Tie Dye 2 bundles to make them perfect for my treasures. I started out by purchasing some cork tiles from my local Joann's store.  These were 12 inch tiles, but I wanted circles. So I set up the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut a circle to use as a pattern.  Using fit-to-page, I was able to create a pattern to use to cut my circles.  I then took some muslin to cover the cork by using hot glue to adhere it to the back.  Next came the fabulous flower ribbon for decoration and a hanger.  I decided to do each one a little differently for more variety. Using

Altered Mini Frames

How about an altered art project?  I like learning new things and playing with new items, so I decided to grab some of those inexpensive frames you see at Michael's Crafts.  I picked up 2 of them and started playing.  You can find a complete description in the video below.  I will tell you that it took a bit of Gesso and paint smudged with a little ink to completely alter these little beauties.  They started out black and white. Supplies: Frames from Michaels Stamps - "Everlasting Life", "Artiste" stamp bundle, and a mini perks stamp - Close To My Heart (CTMH) Pink chiffon pearl paint from Folk Art Apple Barrel Gloss paint - light blue Goldrush, Indian Corn Blue, Slate ink from CTMH Flowers - Recollections and purple flowers from unknown source Lace pieces from my stash Stick pin Glass effects - CTMH Georgia Pacific white cardstock   Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Altered Jar

Good morning. I really hope you are all staying warm and cozy.  Today I have an altered jar to share with you and I hope you see how easy it can be to make a quick gift container.  If you look closely, you can see a little tiny bit of the brand new Red Ribbon Candy ribbon.  It is absolutely beautiful!  Even the pictures can't prepare you for the stunning beauty of this bundle. Supplies: Jar Red Ribbon Candy crinkle ribbon My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing" enamel dots Studio G flowers Folk Art pink chiffon pearl paint Gesso Lace - Really Reasonable Ribbon Victorian Velvet Distress Ink Hot Glue Muslin Pink tulle (Inside the lid) I started by finding a tiny jar at my craft store.  I then searched my Pinterest boards to find those posts that I saw last spring and summer on coloring jars.  I settled on the one found here and cut the recipe in half since I was using such a tiny jar.  Once the clear jar was turned to pink, I was ready to grab some items

Give Thanks With Ribbon Challenge - Thanksgiving Charger

Image
Good morning everyone.  Today is the first day of a brand new challenge over on the 3 Girl JAM challenge blog.  It's all about Thanksgiving and thankfulness so I hope you join along.  You can link your project below the post.  Be sure to hop over to the challenge blog and see the other projects my design team sisters have for you. I decided to alter a charger to showcase the 3 Girl JAM ribbon.  I will zoom in a bit to show the detail, but I wanted you to see the overall effect.  I used both the Harvest Orange and Sunflower ribbon from the Harvest Bundle which you can find here .  I purchased the chargers and Recollections bling from Michaels. The base of the charger was filled in by adhering layers of a napkin with Mod Podge.  It was also sealed with Mod Podge.  Before the sealant layer dried, I sprinkled a small amount of fine glitter from EK Success.  The napkin actually had a passage from the Bible printed directly on it. The flowers were part of a mixed "as

Altered Letter

Image
Good morning everyone.  My favorite type of challenge is an "Anything Goes" challenge because it lets me pair a current project with a challenge.  That is exactly what I did when I made this fun project.  I had signed up for a swap and it fit perfectly with today's 3 Girl JAM "Anything Goes with Ribbon" challenge. My swap partner likes red, bling, diva, and steampunk.  Finding a way to meld these things together was a challenge all by itself.  I hope I was able to pull it off. I started with a large black letter from Hobby Lobby (13" or so) and adhered lace from my stash with Mod-podge.  Despite the fact that the letter looks upside down, it is the correct direction based on the pre-cut hole on the back of the letter. Other supplies: 3 Girl JAM ribbon - Tuxedo Black, Sterling , Dress White Scor-Tape and cardstock scraps for the base of the flowers Hot glue 3 different types of black trim from Walmart and Joann's Recollections and Cr

Spools & Stickpins

Image
Good morning everyone.  I don't know about you, but I am loving the fall weather.  Today was gorgeous and full of sunshine.  The leaves are falling and wonderful warm color surrounded me.   The warm tones were the inspiration for today's project and 3 Girl JAM provides just the right ribbon to complement that.  The Harvest Bundle is perfect for autumn crafting.  You can find yours here .   In the last year or so, I have really enjoyed making stickpins.  I am gathering quite a collection of these little beauties.  When I have the opportunity to enter a stickpin swap, I try to do so.  When the opportunity came to alter a spool and add stickpins, I knew it would be a lot of fun and I needed to join. Of course, I needed a few supplies to go with the gorgeous 3 Girl JAM ribbon. Pretty Purple Gift Bag

Image
For my regular followers, I know it has been a long time since I had a crafty post for you.  I may have fewer posts over the next few weeks, but hopefully life is slowing down enough to at least spend a little time crafting and posting.  By October, we should be back into the swing of things.  Perfect timing since I love Fall and Winter crafting. Today is my day to post over at 3 Girl JAM.  If you are checking in from there, welcome.  Take a little look around and see if there is anything that you like. A good friend recently celebrated her birthday and I wanted to give her a little something.  I decided to take some time and make a special gift bag for her.  Her favorite color is purple (that's not why we are friends), so I thought I could decorate a bag just to suit her.  She told me she loved it and that makes me very happy.  A little Sterling 3 Girl JAM ribbon was the perfect accent for the purple paint. I also used the following products: Kraft paper bag (a

Summertime Mini Canvas

Image
Today's project is full of little things to enjoy - a canvas, kite, chevron, and sun.  I get so busy with life that I forget to enjoy these little things.  How about you?  When was the last time that you reveled in the feel of the sun on your face or watched a kite float through the sky?  If you're like me, it's been too long.  This tiny project was a lot of fun to make, despite being a bit challenging.  I recently participated in a Mini Canvas swap at Art & Sassy .  Though the concept was clear in my head, I had a difficult time translating that to canvas.  It all worked out and I must say that this Sunflower crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM truly finished it off.  It just didn't look right until I made the little sun. Here's what I used to make my mini canvas: 3 Girl JAM - Sunflower crinkle ribbon 2"X4" Artist Loft canvas Artist Loft  modeling paste Gesso October Afternoon "Kite Tails" stamp set Shrinky Dink Kites (made fr

Vintage Altered Cigar Styled Box

Image
Vintage styled altered crafts are so incredibly fun to make that I had to share one with you.  I am participating in an altered cigar style box swap.  I must admit that I had so much fun with this one that I plan to make more in the future. I had some paper from the ancestry.com line by K&Company that was perfect for a vintage style box.  There are a few 3 Girl JAM ribbons that coordinate perfectly with these papers.  I decided to use Coral Crush from the Caribbean Splash bundle and Cream from the Coffee bundle to accent these great papers. Of course there were a LOT of other supplies that I needed: 8X8 wooden box Paint - Napa Red paint and Weathered Wood crackle medium by American and Warm White from Folk Art J.W.'s Right Step clear varnish Adhesives - Gorilla glue, hot glue, Glossy Accents Spools from Laura's Crafts K and Company metal art embellishements Recollections leaves, clear plastic paper, wooded butterfly Lace (from my stash) Tiny mirror from

Graduation Autograph Frame

Today is my daughter's BIG DAY and I want to show you the autograph frame that I decorated for her graduation table.  It was a pretty simple project and I really like the way it turned out.  It will really be special when it is filled with autographs.  Most importantly, my daughter likes it.  Another bonus is that it is a perfect match to the autograph book that I posted last week.  You can see that post by clicking here . I used the following supplies: Prima - Leeza Gibbons "Wishes and Dreams" paper Coredinations Teal paper Cricut and the Cricut Craft Room Stampendous Graduation Cap stamp Archival - Coffee ink Ofray teal ribbon Autograph frame from JoAnn's Xyron 2.5" sticker maker Scotch quick dry adhesive Now for the video: Like I said, this was a very quick project and I plan to have it on her graduation table. Gift Card and Box

Image
This year things were a bit crazy on my husband's birthday.  We both had to work and were very busy.  We decided to wait and celebrate with his birthday dinner until the day after his birthday.  However, I am BIG on doing something on the actual date, so I made this little tag and altered a box to put some treats in for him.  I then had his boss pick it up from me so that it would be waiting when he got to work in the morning.  His day was so crazy that he didn't even have time to open the box or look at the tag so he thought it was from his boss.  Sometimes life just gets TOO BUSY! For the tag, I used: Playing card and Rook card Muse token The Paper Studio - Black & White Doodle hearts paper Fancy Pants - My Family paper Tim Holtz - Playful Journey stamp set Thickers 3 Girl JAM - Antique White Archival Black Ink Paper Trey Inc - Vintage Cream paper Large Tag from the Paper Company Celebrate and Happy Birthday stamps* Wet Wipe * Now I know that you ar
