Rain Rain Go AWAY!!!!!

So when I sat down Monday afternoon to make a card it was pouring and thundering and cold (seriously it does not feel like mid-July here!) I came across Rainy Days Elzybells & decided she would be perfect considering we are suppose to get even more rain Monday night & all day Tuesday

I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch as my starting point. Rainy days Elzybells is stamped with mementos ink and coloured mainly with Lyra Pencils and mineral spirits, I did use copics for the flesh tones. (E000, E00, E02, R02)

The DS and blue paper is all from a Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients, as is the rhinestone flower. I also used SU's Pumpkin pie paper and ribbon. I used Taylors Tiny Twinkles for the buttons on her coat. I added a tiny twinkle to the center of the rhinestone flower and it doesn't show in the picture but I added some crystal effects to the puddles.

Thanks for stopping by, I am hoping by tomorrow we will start to dry out a little bit!!

Have a great day

Happy Holidays...

In keeping with my plan of a Christmas card a week I decided Taylored Expressions cupcake challenge was perfect. I must admit I don't normally put my stuff on at an angle so this was out of my comfort level!

I stamped my cupcake from Home Sweet Home with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured the image with lyras, prismacolor and mineral spirits. Both the image and the patterned paper are cut with nesties. The DS is from my minds eye.

The CB is su's Pretty in Pink layered with Baja Breeze embossed with snowflakes. I used SU's new lace border punch and added soft pink rhinestones along the bottom

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!!

Monster Birthday...

Over on the Corrosive Challenge blog by Janet the challenge this week is to make a birthday card 'cuz it's her birthday today (happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday my friend happy birthday to you!!)

I love this new stamp from Stamping Bella called Monstah Mash and I decided to use if for Janet's challenge. I coloured the center one orange for me 'cuz I'm the tallest & the green one is Karen (no pink in the paper so she agreed on green) and red for Janet 'cuz she's the shortest of us all!!

Monstah Mash is coloured with Lyras, Prismacolors and mineral spirits and on their teeth I used atyou spica pens because these monstah's have good teeth :) I added some stickles on the antennas and the dots. The balloon is popped up

The sentiment is from Stamping Bella & I finished it off with some Bella bonbons

Remember you have until 5pm EST to send Em your cards for this weeks Bellariffic challenge - birthday bash

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by!!

Ah Babies....

So while I am in Toronto I get to see my wonderful cousin who I miss terribly!! She became a grandma for the 2nd time in January so I had fun shopping for cute little girls stuff to bring with me & of course I needed a card. Funny thing I don't own a lot of baby stuff (maybe that's because I never had one?!) so I searched in my bindah's and came across this sweet teddy bear from Stamping Bella

My Beary Best Friend is stamped with memento brown ink and coloured with lyras, prismacolours and mineral spirits. I did use some copics for the bright pink spots. The image is cut and mounted on a chocolate nesties square, then a basic grey scalloped square, then another chocolate nesties square. The DS paper is from Basic Greys Bittersweet line.

Today I am going to Stamping Bella (aka Bellaland or My Happy Place) and I am so excited to see everyone there! My girlfriends Leslie, Miche & Janet are all coming too so it will be a great day -

Thanks for stopping by

Let's Flock

I loved this MFT Who's That Girl set, but realized I had neglected it!! The April releases was what clued me in; that doesn't mean I have too many stamps does it?!

Hanging with my Peeps is stamped with Mementos Tuxedo black ink. The bench and background are coloured with Lyras, Primacolours and Minerals spirits; her dress, shoes and the chicks are coloured with Copics. On the chicks I added some yellow flocking from Bo Bunny. The image is layered on bazzill red & SU's Pretty in Pink

The DS paper is from Chatterbox, I love how it has the shimmer already on it! The card base is SU's certainly celery and the red cs is Bazzill.

I added some Primas and a Stamping Bella cotton candy Bonbon

Thanks for stopping by,

Has spring sprung???

When I saw Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this week I decided it would be perfect for another Easter card (that & the Easter DS paper was still on my desk!!)

The image is from Sweet Springs and is stamped with Memento's ink and coloured with Lyras & Prismacolor using mineral spirits. This is my first attempt with the prismacolor and I must say I did like having the bold colours to work with.

The image is cut with nesties and mounted on SU's Tempting Turquoise. The cb is So Saffron layered with Tempting Turquoise and Regal Rose. The DS paper is from Creative Imagination. I added a Heidi Swap ghost flower with an SU button. I added a bella bonbon to the top of the cupcake; the 5mm ones are a perfect fit. For the bunnies eye I used a pink TwinkleTaylors Tiny

I hope spring has sprung where you are; we are suppose to get more snow tonight; 4" of snow tonight in the Calgary and along the foothills (of the Rocky's) 12" - sadly we live closer to the foothills then I would like (today!!) Although I love my view of the Rocky's I don't LOVE the extra snow it means - at least hubby is in town for this snow fall!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

A tough challenge...

My friend Janet at Corrosive Creations started a challenge blog (the corrosive challenge blog) and I like to play along but this weeks challenge of "under the sea" was really hard because I don't have any stamps of things "under" the sea SO I made my card about a pond or lagoon close to the sea :)
For my card I used the new Froggy Ketto from Stamping Bella. This stamp comes with both sizes so I decided to have to friends sitting on a lily pad enjoying the day. For the lily pad I used Stamping Bella's new grounder oval shadow stamp with Versamark dazzle ink and cut the image out.

The froggys are coloured with lyras & mineral spirits and then I added some crystal effects for their eyes. On the crown and edges of the points I added some stickles. The sentiment is also from Stamping bella and I added bella crystal light baubles.

Thanks for another great challenge Janet; you must be super excited about your trip to Boston tomorrow to see Karen!

Hope you all have a great Sunday - here in Calgary on this 3rd day of spring we have received at least 6" of snow and it's still coming down! Hubby is suppose to fly out later today; glad it's him & not me because everything will be way behind schedule - I will be staying in my house until I have do the the 2nd round of shovelling when it finally stops snowing & blowing. Yep I am really missing the east today especially since my head told me the storm was arriving before it did!

Cupcake Christmas

I know I seem to have embraced this Christmas card a week thing - this is actually my second Christmas card this week (I must toot my own horn!!)

I've had this image stamped and ready to go & it fit perfectly with Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this week (TECC60).

The image is from Season's Sweetings and is stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink on Gina K pure luxury cs and cut with an oval nesties. I coloured with lyras and mineral spirits and added some blue stickles for the garland and some Kaiser pink Rhinestones on the tree and the top of the cupcake.

The DS paper is from Fancy Pants Happy Holidays collections and it is layered on green bazzil cs that I found in my stash; it is actually a package of Christmas Bazzil, the blue is from the same package. The scallop is SU's eyelet border punch and I added Taylor's Tiny Twinkles along the holes of the punch.

Funny I made this card on the first day of Spring when it was absolutely gorgeous here; I even had my window open while colouring my Christmas card; weird I am usually panicking in December when it's freezing and snowing out!
Hope you have a great Saturday and thanks for taking the time to stop by

Feeling a little Mischievous....

Yesterday I literally ran home from the mailbox (it's 1 house away so I survived!) because mine & Kar's package arrived from Elzybells!!! We both wanted to order the stamps so decided to order so they woudl arrive when she was here - now are both proud owners of Elyzbells {huge grin!!}

Mischievous Elzybell caught my eye right away because I grew up with brothers so snowball fights were a matter of life in the winter! I also love the little grin on her face; is she really going to throw that snowball?!

For this card I used SC218 from spiltcoast. Mischievous girl is stamped with mementos black ink on Gina K pure luxury cs and coloured with Lyras & mineral spirits.

The card base is papertrey white cs, layered with SU's bashful blue embossed with swiss dots. The DS paper Fancy Pants Sugar Plum. I added stickles for the snowballs and the snow flakes.

This was a fun card to make; and the cold snowy card was easy based on the cold snowy weather we are having here in Calgary; Kar & I stayed in & stamped today so she wouldn't be too sad about being here in March & not at home!!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

My Best Friend

It seemed like a long way away when my BFF booked her trip from Boston to Calgary BUT she arrives on Friday & I am getting excited - maybe that's the reason I made this "my best friend" card - I mean I am taller then her!!

For this card I used Amy R's Sketch 60. The images are from October Afternoons Night Light stamps (aren't they the cutest?!) I stamped the images on Gina K's pure luxury cs with memento black ink and coloured them with lyra pencils and mineral spirits. Naturally you HAVE to add googlie eyes to these little guys!

The base is SU's pumpkin pie layered with basic black and lavender lace cs. The DS paper is from Daisy Bucket Designs "little monsters" line that Gloria and the girls at Scrapbooker's Paradise North convinced me I "had" to have (yeah it didn't take much!!)
Thanks for another great sketch Amy - yep only 3 more sleeps til my best friend arrives!!

Have a great day

TOTE-ALLY....

Fantastic challenge on the SCS MFT forum - MFTWTG23!! I hadn't inked up this stamp yet & when I found the challenge I was really excited; an excuse to ink it up and use my scraps! The challenge is to use only scrap paper for the card; and I can honestly say that's all I did - the only time I opened a container was for my Bella bon- bons YEAH ME!!!

WTG Tote-ally Fantastic is stamped on Gina K's Pure luxury cs and I paper pieced her skirt & top, used copics to colour the purses, wall and sidewalk then I used lyra pencils and mineral spirits for the stand that the purses sit on and the lines on the wall and sidewalk. I did realize it has been awhile since I was back east; I had to really think about how the brick looks which is funny because our house in Toronto, that we lived in for over 5 years was brick - how quickly we forget!!!

The card base is SU's Rose red layered with Baja Breeze and the DS paper from WeR memory makers - I love the bright colours in this line called Whiteout. I decided to sew the ds onto the baja with orange (close to pumpkin) thread - I am still getting used to the new machine but I must admit I am having fun sewing again (on paper not my hubbys pants that are still waiting to be hemmed!) The image is layered on Baja Breeze and Pumpkin pie. I added some Bella orange bon bons but didn't want to put too much on the card front because I love the paper showing through.

I decorated the inside of the card just layered some Gina K pure luxury cs on Baja Breeze then added 2 strips of the ds paper.

I picked this paper partly because I wanted bright coloured purses; of the 4 I have 3 of the colours - I currently don't own the green coloured purse but I never say never!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day I think I will be shovelling again...

finally inked...

On Monday Joanne announced the Gina K's challenge this week; ink up a stamp you haven't used and then confess how long it's been waiting to see ink - well this stamp was part of my birthday gift from my Hubby and was birthday was just before Christmas BUT I will use the disclaimer that it had a wee bit of a stay at Canadian customs (really not a very good excuse!!)

For this card I combined a total of 3 challenges on SCS - Gina K's Get Inky; SC216 and CC206. The colour challenge is More Mustard, Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss or Old Olive - I love this colour combo so I had to play along.

The stamp is from Gina K's A Year Of Flowers and it's inked (finally) with memento black and stamped on Gina K's 80lb Pure Luxury cs. I coloured the image with Lyras and Mineral spirits; which I still find really challenging to get the shading but one must practice!! I used lots layers on the card with the base being Gina K's Pure Luxury 120lb cs, layered with more mustard & more mustard DS paper, then the scallops are rose red layered with Kiwi Kiss ds, both cut with nesties. I then added a strip of kiwi kiss and rose red ds paper.

Thanks for all the great challenges & have a great day!

A Rose Bouquet

On Friday when I stopped by Charmaine's (Charmworm) blog I was happy to see that Beate's Weekend sketch was back; it had been too long so I decided I wanted to do it (as soon as I finished my valentines!)

This sketch was fun because I don't normally make long cards; this one is 9x4 so it fits perfectly in a letter envelope.

I used Stamping Bella's Rose Bouquet and coloured it with Lyra's and mineral spirits; then I added some glitter to the flower. The image is cut with nesties and mounted on scalloped nesties in So Saffron. The card base is Pink Pirouette and the DS paper is from Basic Greys new line Porcelain line mounted on So Saffron.

The circles are cut with a Martha Stewart circle cutter I found at Walmart (so the price was right!) I have to say I found it easy to use & it goes in measurements on 1/16 up to 6"

I added some ribbon and in the top right corner 3 bella bonbons in cotton candy because you know I can't live without bling on my card!

BIG NEWS!!!! Bellariffic Fridays are back!! Please go to Em's blog Bloggabella to see the first inspriation challenge; all you have to do is send a picture of your card to Em by Thursday 5pm EST and they will be shown on her blog - HOW COOL IS THAT?!?! I am already working on my card I am SOOOO excited!!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by & welcome back Beate's weekend sketch challenge!!

Flopsey Love

Wow I am soooo behind on my Valetine's Day cards!! I went through and pulled out all the Valentine stamps I "had" to have and will get them inked this week - If the card is MADE before Valentines Day it's not late RIGHT, not when it gets in the mail & received?!

I made this card for my neice & nephew & I used Jen's SKFYTT; funny there isn't much bling on it - I kept staring at it last night wanting to add some bling, but decided to leave it alone - that can sometimes get me into trouble (aka the card hits the garbage) if it doesn't just come then it's not meant to bling....

Valentine Flopsey is stamped on Gina K's Pure Luxury paper, then coloured with Lyras & mineral spirits, I then added some shimmer to the fur on Flopsey; I chose grey for his colouring since all the bunnies here are a white/grey right now to try & blend into the snow (which is falling in HUGE flakes right now!!) I stamped the heart & words on SU's Purely Pomegranate, embossed them, then cut & paper pieced then but used dimensionals so it's away from his body. The image is cut with nesties, but I trimmed the embossed part off so I could have a small mounting piece. The image is mounted on SU's Basic Grey, the card base is SU's Purely Pomegranate and the DS paper is Little Yellow Bicycles Love Letters. I used Martha's heart punch and popped those up as well.

Have a great day; looks like I will be stamping & shovelling today!!!

I can't believe...

How stinkin' cute she is!!!! I love this little girl and her attitude!

For this card I used SC212 from SCS and I CC202 -whew 2 challenges at one time!

The card base is Regal Rose, layered with Kiwi Kiss DS paper and a piece of Bravo Burgundy which is embossed with tiny bubbles.

No Fair Girl is stamped on Gina K Pure Luxury paper and mounted on Regal Rose cs both cut with nesties labels large & small.

The image is coloured with Lyra pencils & mineral spirits and I added stickles to her dress

The sentiment is cut with SU's small oval punch layers on Bravo Burgundy

Thanks for stopping by

little daisy...

Just a quick post and card today - this one came together quick with less layers then I usually do!

Miss Daisy Bittybloom is stamped on Gina K Pure Luxury paper and cut with a round nesties and layered on a piece of SU's Rose Red cut with the circle scallop nesties. I coloured her with lyra pencils and mineral spirits and paper pieced the center of the flower, it is SU's Rose Red. To give daisy a bit of bling I outlined the flower and flower skirt using a gelly roll pen.

The card base is SU's Pink Pirouette and the DS paper is from Basic Greys Bittersweet collection. I added Pink Pirouette ribbon to finish the card

Sorry this doesn't appear to be the best picture but the lighting is horrible in my room

Thanks for stopping by & have a great Saturday

Rumor has it....

I am in LOVE with this image from Stamping Bella "Rumor has it girl" - and the sentiment is perfect for so many occasions!!

For this card I used Jen's Sketch for you to try which was a lot of fun - I look forward to her sketches every weekend

Rumor has it is stamped with Memento black ink on Gina K's Pure Luxury CS and coloured with lyras, mineral spirits using a stump. I enjoying my lyra's the more I play with them (hmmm I am sure that's what Nicky told me the first time I tried them - just need to use them & you will love them; she is such a wise sistah!!)

I loved the paper I used for Fabby the other day so I used it again on this image it's from We R memory makers and it's called nonsense -ding dong and it is mounted on SU's Baja Breeze. The card base is Gina K's Pure Luxury paper 120lbs. The image is mounted on Kiwi Kiss, and the corner is baja breeze. I used my SU's small and large oval for the sentiment; which is mounted on SU's Pumpkin Pie.

The flowers in the corner on put on with my Kajinker - they are coloured vinyl; that Em she finds all the coolest stuff!

Thanks for stopping by - have a great Tuesday

here's the scoop

I managed to complete an MFT challenge on time!

I had to flip the sketch to fit me image -

I used 2 sets from MFT the first is "here's the scoop" which I stamped on Gina K's pure luxury paper and then coloured the chair and girl with my lyra pencils, mineral spirits and stub. Every time I use them I think of Nicky :)

I decided to paper piece the floor so I used Co'ordinations paper to give it the look of a wood floor then for the wall s I chose stripes from Sassafras (hey isn't that a restaurant in Toronto?!) from their Life is Beautiful line called take a chance - really you would be taking quite the chance putting stripes like that on your wall!!

Naturally I made the ice cream chocolate; is there any other flavour to have?! To give it some glitter I used my pearlescent watercolours then on the ice cream I added some crystal effects. The image is mounted on SU's Very Vanilla and Chocolate chip. I used the distressed stripes folder from cuttlebug to emboss a piece of SU's More Mustard; then sanded down the embossed part.

The sentiment is stamped on a stamp from MFT's Going Places set on SU's very vanilla, I then added chocolate primas with SU's fire rhinestone circle brads.

Because I used SU's Chocolate Chip for the base I decorated the inside of my card. I have to say I really like how it turned out; I might have to start doing it more often! I mounted a piece of SU's Very Vanilla cs on a piece of the same designer paper. I inked the edges of the vanilla cs with chocolate chip ink. The image is from MFT's here's the scoop and the cone is stamped on SU's More Mustard, the ice cream part is naturally chocoalte.

Thanks for stopping by - have a great evening

Need a little Hugabug?!

I LOVE the hugabugs from Stamping Bella, and miles (the
dragonfly) has been waiting to be
inked up. I figured in honour of all the new hugabugs I ordered today from Stamping Bella I would use him!

This was a fun card to make thanks to Amy R's great sketch and I combined it with Kritina's colour challenge for this week.

Miles is stamped on Gina K white cs with memento black ink, and colour with Lyra Pencils which I have really enjoyed using the past couple of days. I stamped him 2x on SU's vellum paper with black stazon and cut out the wings then layered them onto the image. I stuck them down at different ranges to try and
get the effect of him flying or at least fluttering about!

The card base is SU's baja breeze; layered with DS Pumpkin Pie (the retired one) and chocolate chip and some Old Olive Ribbon.

I used nesties (of course) to cut out miles and layered him on SU's Old Olive cs. to finish off the image I added some bella dots in orange crackle.

If you haven't been over to Stamping Bella yet you need to stop by they have released a bunch of Valentine stamps, and I told Ryan (the MR in Stamping Bella) that for someone who normally doesn't make Valentine cards I have a lot of Valentine stamps coming!!

Thanks for stoping by & thanks Amy & Krista for the inspiration!

...I See Alice Kissing Butterflies..

Whew, I found the Looking for Love Release Week Challenge from Verve yesterday on SCS.
Four sketches that completed
by 12pm MT today and you have a
chance to win the entire new release!! Well since I don't have any Verve stamps yet (but I did notice shipping to Canada is good) I thought this was perfect - except of course having to make 4 cards in 2 days!

This is the last one and it is also my card for Bella-riffic Fridays "New Beginnings". I picked Butterfly Kisses (alice in Paris) from Stamping Bella because she hasn't been inked AND I like the idea of slowing down and enjoying/ being grateful for things it's a good mantra for the New Year!

Alice is stamped with Memento black ink on Papertrey White CS, I wanted to see how it was to colour with my Lyra Pencils that I bought at Stamping Bella; the hole time I was colouring I was thinking of Nicky because she introduced me to this format of colouring and I wavered a bit but before moving bought the set; she said she knew I would - she is a wise woman!!!

I used my nesties to cut out the image and mounted it on SU's Rose Red. The card base is SU's So Saffron, layered with Tempting Turquoise and a strip of Kiwi Kiss. The DS paper is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie line.

I added some dazzling diamonds and then of course some cotton candy bon bons from Stamping Bella.

I had a lot of fun completing these sketches and I am looking forward to seeing the releases from Verve and Stamping Bella (look out Mr Credit Card!!)

Happy Friday, Happy Shopping
