Sweet Sunday Sketch 243

I'm back today with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch (243)

For my card today I decided to make a Christmas card using MFT's Inspired by Christmas.

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured with copies.  On his beard and trim I added a little sparkle with a clear wink of stella pen.  The DP is Bo Bunny's Elf Magic Collection.

Branching out on a Sweet Sunday

Karen has another fabulous sketch for us this week (SSSC197) and for my card I inked up one of MFT's new images Trim the Branches Snowman.

The image is stamped onto bella's bestest white card stock and coloured with some copics, but mainly pencils with mineral spirits.  On the ornaments I used either a clear glaze pen or gold gelly roll pen.  I cut the image out using MFT's pierced circle die-namics then layered it on a piece of burgundy card stock cut with a nestie.  The tag behind the dp banner is cut with MFT's fishtail flags layers stax die-namics.  I shaded around the image with bundled sage and antique linen distress inks.  The snow on the ground is done with DecroArt Glistening Snow Writer The DP is Basic Greys Aspen Frost.

For the inside of the card I inked a piece of white cardstock with the antique linen and bundled sage distress inks, added some banners in the dp cut with MFT's fish tail flags layer die-namics.

If you have a chance to play along with the sketch this week remember to link your card on Karen's blog.  Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations.

Have Yourself....

A Merry Little Christmas!  I have SO many MFT stamps that haven't been inked so I'm hoping to play along with more of the MFTWSC's - or should I stay start playing along with the again!

I was a little stumped when I first saw this weeks sketch (MFTWSC146) since I don't have a big die-namic like the sketch, but they are just a guideline right?!

I inked up MFT's Seasonal Sentiments Christmas tree with crushed olive distress ink and stamped the image onto cream card stock.  I then fussy cut the image out to make it my focal point.  Since I didn't need a sentiment I added some ribbon and a tiny rhinestone.  The DP is Collage & Press Studios City Sidewalks.

Enjoy the Ride

I wanted to make a Thank you card for one of the guys who works with hubby - he ordered us new bikes and had them put together for us.  I am not a bike rider, did not grow up riding a bike (it was always uphill in my hometown) BUT Hubby likes it so we are giving it a whirl this year & so far I've really enjoyed myself!  So MFT had the perfect stamp for me!

I ordered the June VIP kit and it included MFT's WTG - Enjoy the Ride.  I stamped her with mementos ink and coloured her with copics.  I paper pieced her top from the ds paper which also came in the kit - Lilybee designs Happily Lost; how perfect is that paper?!  I used the new die-namic that also came with the kit - simply scallops large (sweet!!!) and added some ribbon.  The sentiment is from MFT's clearly sentimental line - Thanks a Bunch.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope I can be as graceful on my bike at the WTG is!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY!!

Welcome to our blog hop for the fabulous Wendy Bond!!  Today's her birthday and what a great way to celebrate!  If you came here from Karen Motz's blog you are on the right path, if not please hop over to the start on her blog.  She also has the master list of all everyone wanting to play along

When I went to make Wendy's card I knew MFT's Who's that Girl? Meet Me at the Cafe would be perfect!  We try to together for dinner (and wine) and the last time we had dinner  an associate of my hubby's was there and sent over a bottle of wine - he's my favourite!!  Sadly last night we only had time to meet for a coffee but I gave her a bottle of wine (we both love our Italian red wine!!) for her birthday today!

The image is stamped with mementos ink and I paper pieced their outfits and the bottle of wine.  The ds paper is MME fine and dandy true blue.  I popped the awning over their heads.  The scallops are MFT's die-namic jumbo scallops die.

The next stop on the hop is the amazingly talented and brilliant Jodi Collins - enjoy the hop Wendy and have a great birthday!!

Congratulations

It's Saturday and time for another Sweet Stop Sketch challenge (SSS58)  Our niece is graduating from High School this year so I wanted to get her card made.  She's already had the ceremony; which seems odd to me since she still has to write exams etc, but I grew up in a small town where there was only 1 high school so there was no worries of events conflicting with other schools or facilities!

The image I used is a digi image from The Greeting Farm - Grad Anya.  I printed her onto bella's bestest paper & coloured her with copics.  I chose purple because our niece loves purple.  Once I had the image coloured I had to find paper (I usually pick my paper then colours)  I was happy to find this paper from Kaiser Krafts Utopia line in my stash!  The sentiment is from MFT's Essential Sentiments and it's stamped on the ds paper.  I added some prima flowers and some purple and turquoise tiny rhinestones.

Please stop by The Sweet Stop blog to see what the rest of the Sugar Babies have created and I hope you can play along with us this week

Thanks for stopping by ~

Happy Saturday - it's time for another Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS54) I hope you can play along with us this week!

Sunshiny Day is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest cream paper & coloured with copics. On the hearts I used a fushia atyou spica pen.

The DS paper is My Minds Eye Quite Contrary (shocking I know) layered on SU Rich Razzleberry, I also used the rich razzleberry ribbon. I added some glamour dust glitter to the clouds, and stardust stickles to the butterflies

I am so happy I was able to play along with the Sweet Stop sketch this week (SSS49) - I {heart} their sketches but haven't played along in awhile

I also finally inked up this sweet Pure Innocence Girl "Start the Day with Whee" from MFT. The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I cut the image out with a rectangle nestie; then cut along the embossed line, I then cut the base (garden green) with the same size nestie. The ds paper is from My Minds Eyes Quite Contrary - Mary Mary line,
I used the ds paper for her dress as well.

I added some of Taylor's Tiny Twinkles in the corners of the image and some pink gingham ribbon along the bottom. The flower is a white prima flower that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in bubblegum and added a ruby red bella bonbon

Rainy Days...

Today in Calgary it's suppose to be +19c which is crazy warm for this time of year; sadly by the weekend we are suppose to be back around 0c with snow so my rainy day girl might need her umbrella for the snow!

I made this card awhile ago & totally forgot to post it; how crazy is that! I decided to make an easel card with this image & sentiment. Rainy Day Friends from MFT is stamped with mementos ink & coloured with copics. I paper pieced her coat, boots and umbrella & used a clear glaze pen on them to make them rain coats. For the buttons I used some of Taylors Tiny Twinkles in purple.

The DS paper is Fancy Pants Dancing Girls & I used swiss dots to emboss the cs to make it look like rain drops.

I added some yellow ribbon, a prima & button to finish off the card.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day I know I am going to enjoy our nice weather while it lasts!

Revisiting...

Last week Joanne B had a fantastic water colouring tutorial on her blog; when I saw it I tried to remember the last time I water coloured an image - I couldn't remember! Since finding copics they seem to be all I reach for; even my pencils are being ignored so I decided I would find my watercolour pens and get my reinkers out!

I used this weeks Crazy 4 Challenges sketch (C4C20) and chose MFT Pure Innocence - My Balloon and stamped the image with black stazon on Fabriano hot pressed paper and water coloured with reinkers. I had to remind myself to let a colour dry before trying to shade, but I really enjoyed water colouring again. The DS paper is from cosmo cricket and I used my Martha Stewart Scallop Dot border punch. I used a clear glaze pen on her shoes & heart and an atyou red pen on the buckle on her shoe.

Thanks for stopping by - and thanks for the inspiration Joanne!

reinkers: ruby red, old olive, summer sun & more mustard, chocolate chip.

Happy Holidays!

I wanted to wish everyone a very safe & happy holidays, enjoy time with family & friends!

The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. On the snowman I added some microfine glitter and some tiny twinkles for his buttons. I used green stickles on her pompom, and baby blue stickles on his.

The DS paper is from basic greys Eskimo kisses, and I stitched around the edges. I added a snowflake from my Martha Stewart punch and a bella bonbon

Take care & again HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Sweet Stop Saturday

Good morning - hope you are all having a great weekend! I am thrilled to show you the card I made for The Sweet Stop Blog

This weeks sketch was perfect for this sweet Pure Innocence image, and I was able to make quite a few to try & finish of my cards! Pure Innocence Flurry of Love is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I added some glitter for the snow and falling flakes and my atyou spica pen along the top of her boots. Really this image shows how the weather has been around here!!

The DS paper is from Fancy Pants Frosted line; string of snow & colour of winter. I sewed around the edges of the ds paper; this is so much faster then paper piercing when I am in mass production, although I do still love paper piercing! I added a Martha snowflake and a pink rhinestone.

Thank for stopping by & make sure you stop by the Sweet Stop to see the Sweet Stop girls creations!

Sweet Cool Yule

Well it's feeling a lot like Winter here in Calgary! We have snow and comfy cold temps (yes there is such a thing) so now all the Christmas lights look nice in the neighbourhood!

I love Karen's Sweet Sunday's Sketches and this weeks (SSSC46) was perfect with Cool Yule from MFT (I managed to make 10 more Christmas cards) The images are stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics, on the bear I used BG000 along the edges and blended with a blender pen. The bears scarf is paper pieced.

The DS paper is from SEI's wintersong and on the penguin I added some crystal stickles along his hat and stitched around the ds paper.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Sweet Flopsey

I wanted to make a card to wish everyone in the USA a very Happy Thanksgiving so I inked up Sweetie Pie Flopsey because you need pie after a big turkey dinner!

I used Mercy's sketch from this week (MTSC49)but flipped it around to work with my image. Flopsey is stamped with mementos ink & coloured with lyra pencils & prisma colour pencils using odorless mineral spirits. The pie is coloured with copics and I added a clear glaze on with my glaze pen. I paper pieced the pan and chefs hat.

The paper is from my Sept Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions, the ds paper in the package is Bo Bunny's Kitchen Spice. The punch is from EK success called Parisian which I ordered from Stamping Bella and I paper pierced along the edges.
I popped up the brown/rust piece then popped Flosey as well to give lots of dimension to the card.

Enjoy time with your families, eat lots of turkey; we canucks did that last month & are now getting ready for the Grey Cup this weekend (our Super Bowl) For those of you going shopping on Black Friday - good luck!!

Sweet n Sassy Christmas

I'm still plucking away at my Christmas cards; I am happy to say I only need to make about another 20 and I am done! Funny it's been warm here in Calgary & no snow so everyone is getting their Christmas lights up; last night when I drove home it seemed like most of the neighbourhood has their lights on - makes it easy to find my house, it's the one without!!

I bought this image last year when it was released from MFT, this is how I feel just before Christmas and I don't even have kids!! I have this thing about baking but we really don't eat it so this year I am cutting back (at least that's what I say today!)

WTG Merry Christmas is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I added pink and blue stickles to the tree and used pink and red smooch to the packages. The DS paper is Basic Greys Eskimo Kisses. This weeks Sweet n Sassy's challenge (SSS31) was a sketch with a twist - sewing so I stitched around my pink base which I embossed with Quickutz snowflakes. I also stitched along the patterned strip. I added some pink rhinestones to the snowflake and the patterned strips which I cut with my word window punch.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card and coloured it with copics, I added clear glaze to the glass.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Pure Sweetness...

I was so excited when I went to the mailbox Tuesday and mixed in with all the junk (bills) was my order from MFT!! Like everyone else I am very impatient when I am waiting for my new stamps and it takes a little longer for them to make their way to Canada!

I wanted to play along with Mercy's sketch this week (MTSC48) so I inked up Snow Day and coloured her with copics. I was smart & made 6 cards to add to my Christmas stash; I find doing 6 an easy number because you can add details to them and it's not overwhelming (hopefully I remember that for next year!). On her pocket and buttons I used my clear glaze pen, and added some clear stickles to the pom poms on her toque (eh!). For the snow I used liquid applique and utra fine glitter.

The card is 9x4 so for my embossed chocolate chip pieces I ran them through the big shot 2x and just matched up the edges; it was easier then I thought. I used Quickutz snowflakes embossing folder. The DS paper is from Bo Bunny's This the Season line which I paper pieced. I added some red ribbon and used my Martha Stewart snowflake punch and finish it with a crystal bella bonbon.

Thanks Mercy for another inspiring sketch!

Have a great day -

Sweet Sunday Trick or Treat

Wohoo I managed to get one more Halloween card made! I wanted to ink up all my new Halloween stamps (I did) and use my Halloween Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions again!

I used Karen's G. Sweet Sunday sketch (SSSC41) from this week & flipped it on it's side to work with Trick or Treat with Who's That Girl (don't you just love the Flopsey costume?!) The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I used my black glaze pen for her shoes and orange stickles for the candy. The DS paper in the kit is Basic Grey's Eerie. I paper pieced her dress and paper pierced around the ds paper.

Really who dresses like that when handing out Halloween candy?! Here we are sometimes bundled to answer the door, but this year it's suppose to be warm(ish) so chances are I will be in jeans & a t-shirt & hoodie (OK maybe my Lulu's) BUT the kids will get way more then one piece of candy here! Being non-parents hubby & I love giving handfuls of candy out; we love getting kids hoped up on candy :)

Happy Halloween & thanks for stopping by

Bunnies & Bling

This is a card I made for MFT's WCMD challenge on SCS on Saturday, Joanne B was the host and the requirements were black, pink, white & bling; so I gave her lots of bling!!

I chose MFT's Who's that Girl? Bunny Slippers because it was cold and trying to snow here so it really was a day when you just wanted to stay home in your comfy slippers and robe! The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics, the robe is paper pieced with pink pirouette ds paper. I added some white flocking on the slippers and the cuffs and neck of the robe, sorry it doesn't show up in the picture.

The cb is white layered with black cs then pink pirouette paper which was embossed with a quick kutz embossing folder diamonds and dots and along the dots I added some rhinestones for my bling

Hope you had a great World Card Making Day, I made some cards for a friend that I will post later this week.

Thanks for stopping by!
