Has Spring Sprung?!

I am so excited I have been invited to be a part of the Sweet Stops Sugar Baby team!! I love their sketches and was absolutely thrilled to be a part of this amazing group.

For this weeks sketch (SSS50) I inked up on of my long neglected Elzybells stamps. Spring Blooms is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I used a lemon atyou spica pen on the dark yellow areas and added some orange stickles to the flower which is paper pieced & popped.

The ds paper is from We R Memory called
Hippity Hoppity, and it's layered on melon mambo cswhich is layered on wild wasabi which is embossed with cuttlebugs swiss dots. I added some ribbon and an crochet flower with an orange rhinestone in the middle.

You can check out what the rest of the Sugar Babies did with the sketch and I hope you can play along this week - for all the details please go to the Sweet Stop Blog

Have a great weekend & thanks for taking the time to stop by ~

More Christmas Wishes...

I am happy to say all my Christmas cards are in the mail; I think they may even get to their destinations on time! This is the last set of "mass production" cards I made.

I used Mercy's sketch from last week (MTSC51) as my inspiration, and inked up my long neglected Elzybell's stamp Mark & Ela. The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. For the falling snow I used glue and micro fine glitter, for the snow on the ground I used liquid applique and micro fine glitter, which I heated a little.

The DS paper is from My Mind's Eye's colourful Christmas as are the brads. I embossed the baja breeze paper with quickutz snowflakes and sewed around the patterend paper.

I sent these cards to my parent's and
brothers. When I was in about grade 1 (really not that long ago...) my dad, brothers & I went tobogganing outside of town. You parked on the side of the road & walked in and then walked back out. I was in front of my dad on the sled; but didn't know I was suppose to drive so we wound up in a tree; my foot was all wrapped up in the branches. Naturally I cried & cried & my brothers told me to quit being a wimp and then my poor dad had to pull me out on the sled. Fractured my foot; but the funniest part is the next year when we went out the poor little tree was growing crooked!!

So the moral of the story is if you are on the front of the sled keep your eyes open because you're the driver!!!

A Snowball Story...

I was counting my Christmas cards - I only have 75 (including 15 that are 1/2 made) so I have about another 30 to go! When I finished this card tonight I wished I made more then 6, although I am not sure how mail friendly they are they are pretty thick!

I saw this great challenge on Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C10) this week to make an easel card, which I have never done so I wanted to try (click here for the instructions). I used Elzybell's Mischievous and a "made a snowball" as my stamps & I was really happy with how it turned out. The directions are to add a brad or button to hold the card in place, but my bases are 130lb cardstock so I didn't need to add anything & it took away from the "made a snowball" story.

Mischievous is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics, I added some purple Taylor's Tiny Twinkles for the buttons on her coat. For the snowballs and snow on the ground I used liquid applique and ultra fine glitter & just let it dry, for the snow falling I used my quickie glue pen and the same glitter. The DS paper is from Fancy Pants Arctic Chill collection called Snowball

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are closer to finishing your Christmas cards then I am!!

It's Starting to Feel A Lot Like...

CHRISTMAS! Holy smokes it is cold, snowing & downright miserable here!! The temp dropped drastically today & the wind & snow moved in for the night YIKES it too early! To match the weather I decided to make a Christmas card or two today.
I loved Mercy's sketch (MTSC42) this week & knew it was perfect for the Elzybells image I wanted to ink up. Making Snowmen is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics, I've listed the colours at the bottom of the page. It doesn't show in the picture (sorry took this at night) but I added microfine glitter to the snow & added green flocking to the cuffs and trim of her coat.

The cb is white cs layered with melon mambo that I embossed with cuttlebugs snowflakes embossing plate. The ds paper is from My Minds Eye's Colorful Christmas line. To finish off the card I added some rhinestones. I managed to get these 2 made, and have the image stamped & paper cut, embossed and the circles all done with the nesties for 13 more cards - look at me go! I might actually get my cards made & sent on time this year!!

Don't forget Bellariffic Fridays will be on Saturday this week - see you then

Rain Rain Go AWAY!!!!!

So when I sat down Monday afternoon to make a card it was pouring and thundering and cold (seriously it does not feel like mid-July here!) I came across Rainy Days Elzybells & decided she would be perfect considering we are suppose to get even more rain Monday night & all day Tuesday

I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch as my starting point. Rainy days Elzybells is stamped with mementos ink and coloured mainly with Lyra Pencils and mineral spirits, I did use copics for the flesh tones. (E000, E00, E02, R02)

The DS and blue paper is all from a Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients, as is the rhinestone flower. I also used SU's Pumpkin pie paper and ribbon. I used Taylors Tiny Twinkles for the buttons on her coat. I added a tiny twinkle to the center of the rhinestone flower and it doesn't show in the picture but I added some crystal effects to the puddles.

Thanks for stopping by, I am hoping by tomorrow we will start to dry out a little bit!!

Have a great day

Making Snowmen

This week over at the Corrosive Challenge Blog (CCBJ16) Janet had a sketch & when I saw it I grabbed this sweet Elzybells stamp "making snowmen" because it worked perfectly

The image is stamped with Mementos ink on Gina K pure luxury cs and coloured with copics (sorry I forgot to take a picture of them). On the trim on her coat I used white flocking, which reminded me a of pink fur (OK fake fur) coat & hat I had and LOVED. I added some ultra fine glitter on the snow and a snowflake in the corner

The cb is SU's Riding Hood Red layered with Baja Breeze that I embossed with snowflakes. The DS paper is from my stash of My Minds Eye Christmas paper

Have a great Thursday & I hope you can play along with the Corrosive Challenge this week

My Kinda Diet

I wanted to try and get another challenge done on the Stampin' out Alzheimer's blog because I think what Jen has done is absolutely amazing!!

I chose the Verve challenge; it was hard to pick because they were all so amazing! I used my Elzybell from Just Desserts- and I LOVE her idea of a diet (I am sure my trainer at the gym wouldn't agree!!)

She is stamped with mementos ink on Gina K's Pure Luxury CS and coloured with copics; I did paper piece her dress.

The cb is SU's Riding Hood Red layered with Baja Breeze that I embossed with swiss dots. I stamped my sentiment, which came with the stamp before embossing.

The DS paper is from Bella Blvd & it's layered on Riding hood Red and paper pierced. I layered the image Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze & Riding Hood Red & added some Pumpkin Ribbon

Hope you have a chance to take part in some of the amazing challenges on the Stampin' out Alzheimer's blog & have a fantastic Sunday!

A card for Abygail...

This weeks challenge over at the Corrosive Challenge by Janet was a Sketch challenge - I have to say I really like sketch challenges or themes so I was excited to play along!

Janet received a sweet puppy for her birthday so I decided to honour Abygail & Janet with my card :)

I chose Torn Paper from Elzybells because Janet hasn't had a lot of time to stamp this weeks; she's been having to keep her eye on the little one. I stamped the image with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured it with lyras, prismacolours & mineral spirits. The DS paper is from SU - riding hood red.

I dusted of my quickutz (don't remember the last time I used those!) and cut her name out using "olivia"

Janet hopefully when you get this Abygail doesn't tear it up!!

Have a great day everyone

Oh no..

I don't know what happened the last couple of weeks but I haven't been keeping up with my Christmas card a week plan & boy do I feel guilty! I am hoping to get back on track, but I won't play catch up because I don't mind making the Christmas cards when it doesn't feel like winter; unfortunately it's snowed everyday since Thursday so it's not feeling like the end of April, more like December - right now both my hubby & I are looking at the weather in Toronto & are wondering why we moved back to this crazy weather place!!

Anyways, for this sweet Elzybells Angel card I used Taylored Expressions cupcake Challenge from this week. The image is stamped with memento's tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics. For her wings I used micro glitter and her halo is done with stickles.

The cardbase is SU's real red layered with bazzil blue and the DS paper is from Fancy pants - I chose red because of the red circles (that is under the blue - don't you hate it when that happens!)

The sentiment is from Stamping bella and I added a ghost snowflake and a 7mm red Bella Bonbon

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day - we are suppose to get more snow crazy no?!?!

A Christmas card on a Spring Winter Day...

Well the good news is we didn't get as much snow as last weekend - the bad news is we got a lot of snow!!! Seriously we have more snow now then we did at Christmas!! So it was fitting the my friend Janet's Corrosive Challenge #5 today was a Christmas/ winter card with an animal.

For this card I used Jen's SKFYTT - I look forward to them every week!!

The image is from Elzybells called Sleeping Reindeer; when I first saw this challenge from Janet I figured easy I have TONS of animal winter stamps - um NO I have tons of Snowmen & I don't think they count as animals!! This really was about the only one with a legit animal in it; I was thinking I would be using a snowman with a wee little bird until I came across this!!

I coloured the image with Lyras & Prismacolor using mineral spirits, still trying to get the hang of it; but I do find I really enjoy colouring with them.

I added candy cane Stickles for the balls on the tree & silver stickles for the garland. On his noise and the star I used Crystal effects to give it some shine.

The CB is white cs from Papertrey and the DS paper is from Scenic Route called Garland. I layered it and the image on SU's Riding Hood Red. To finish off the image I added a Ghost Snowflake with a 5mm red Bella Bonbon

Thanks Janet for another great challenge & Jen for the sketch!!

Feeling a little Mischievous....

Yesterday I literally ran home from the mailbox (it's 1 house away so I survived!) because mine & Kar's package arrived from Elzybells!!! We both wanted to order the stamps so decided to order so they woudl arrive when she was here - now are both proud owners of Elyzbells {huge grin!!}

Mischievous Elzybell caught my eye right away because I grew up with brothers so snowball fights were a matter of life in the winter! I also love the little grin on her face; is she really going to throw that snowball?!

For this card I used SC218 from spiltcoast. Mischievous girl is stamped with mementos black ink on Gina K pure luxury cs and coloured with Lyras & mineral spirits.

The card base is papertrey white cs, layered with SU's bashful blue embossed with swiss dots. The DS paper Fancy Pants Sugar Plum. I added stickles for the snowballs and the snow flakes.

This was a fun card to make; and the cold snowy card was easy based on the cold snowy weather we are having here in Calgary; Kar & I stayed in & stamped today so she wouldn't be too sad about being here in March & not at home!!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day
